Promenade Cafe and Wine
French comfort food and local ingredients is the basis ever-changing seasonal menus. Our restaurant menu focuses on Winnipeg's local and French community in our restaurant menu.
The inspiration for the dishes range from local ingredients, tradition of the Francophone French Community of Winnipeg and comfort food preparations.
We are dedicated to utilizing local and regional products wherever possible in our dishes. The is nothing premade in our Winnipeg restaurant including all of our scratch made desserts. You will certainly see this reflected in the freshness and quality of our French cuisine.
Prince Edward Island mussels of the day topped with matchstick potatoes
Requested a dish I’ve had 10+ times that is no longer on the menu. They said they could make it anyway, and it was nowhere close to what I had in the past.
Not sure if the chef changed or something but I used to LOVE Promenade!
Great place for brunch! Yummy lattes! Great atmosphere!
It was five star all the way. Nothing more to say!!
Loved the ambiance, food was pretty good too. Drinks may be a little expensive, but there are so many other places to go to in the area that we just went with water and could go for a coffee/beer after. Great place for brunch!
This is one of my favourite spots for a Sunday Brunch. Make sure you have reservations though as it can be hard to get into!
Very disappointed croque Madam has been removed from menu. Being a French restaurant you can’t get more French than that and it was always done beautifully. !
Friend onion soup and the burger for burger week were fantastic!
The best place in Winnipeg. Very good food. Friendly staff. Very good service.
Excellent menu choices. Server was very friendly and was knowledgable of menu and helpful in assisting us in our choices. Food was hot and delicious.
Everything was excellent! Outstanding food and service. Enjoyed the whole experience immensely. Would highly recommend Promenade Cafe!
Their le burger week burger was amazing! Had mussels & frites as well. Outdoor patio is a little run down but you can’t beat the view of the Esplanade Riel bridge!
Went for burger week! Burger was good! Service good; staff wearing masks and tables distanced as per protocols.A very pleasant dining experience.
Good service, tasty food (tourtiere ) and restful atmosphere.
Food was tasty. Server was friendly and attentive. Some updating needed as chair coverings were worn and curtains very drab and unattractive.
A menu with an emphasis on local food, you can't go wrong with any of the bison dishes from here.
The staff were attentive and mindful of Covid protocols. We both had the lamb and it was excellent.
Great venue as usual, keep coming back and I’ll always come back. Bon travail!
Absolutely exquisite except the mashed potato was rather tasteless and disappointing considering the taste of the main dish chicken and vegies and soup.
I had the pork tenderloins which were very tasty (maybe slightly overdone but better that than underdone). The broccoli and creme brûlée were both very good. I was not a fan of the mashed potatoes, though. They were a bit dry and packed down. I would have preferred seasoned roasted potatoes. But otherwise, it was a very pleasant evening. Thank you.
Great food and excellent service!
Food is all ways great and the servers make you feel welcomed.
Consistently excellent food and service. Always a pleasure to dine here, and the view of our lovely downtown, especially out on the patio on a summer evening simply can’t be beat!
Certain dishes portions were small (poutine). Service was very good though and flavour was also very good. The dressing on the salad was lacking gusto. Tourtiere de bison was excellent.
Great service and location. We sat outside on the patio so there was noise from traffic but the view of the cityscape is worth it all. Cost is a bit much for breakfast.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful summer evening
Wonderful meal. They were so accommodating with my request for dairy-free options. Every bite was delicious and the service was lovely!
My Mum and I went to Promenade Café and Wine for brunch on their patio. Our server was quick and very personable - great service - and the ham and Swiss crepes we both had were so delicious! We had our brunch on their expanded patio - which has the most incredible view in the city.
Great food and great service!
The food was terrific and the Service is always great! The view with a window seat is beautiful too!
Food is absolutely incredible! Delicious lattes! Yummy!
Staff very efficient. Great food especially the desserts.
Beautiful place, excellent service , food was amazing. Felt safe.
Great soups and quiches. Plus the rest of the menu is excellent.
The service was exemplary and the food was delicious and well prepared.
Great service, great food, and enjoyed dining on the outdoor patio!
Had brunch on the patio and the view of the museum, bridge, downtown (etc) was awesome! Our reservation was for 11:00 which is right when they open so we were the first ones there and the only ones seated for a little while, so the service was excellent at the beginning. Then once it started getting busier our server was very neglectful. We didn’t get checked on at all after that point so didn’t get any drink refills. We both ordered egg dishes and thought the potatoes were very underwhelming. They were very bland and came to us cold. The rest of the food was enjoyable.
Delicious food. All the dishes we tried tasted homemade but better then what you would make yourself, obviously. Very soulful dishes. Can't wait to come back for dinner.
Always good French food.
Good was good, service great, nice to sit outside. Tables were placed for social distancing and marked well inside resturant for social distancing.
My wife and I decided to try Promenade for our first time July 10th, the day of our wedding anniversary. We mainly enjoyed our dinner visit, conceding that they had only recently returned to in-house dining due to Covid 19. The ambiance was mainly nicely quiet, lovely music in the background and a comfortable setting. We had a table in the back corner which was nice. I would not have wanted to be by the street as the sun was shining much too brightly. They have curtains that hopefully can be closed. I think it was actually nicer that half the tables had to be taken out due to Covid lol (not so great for profits). You could see the riverside not too far in the distance which was nice. We noticed that peoples' attire ranged mainly from nice casual to more dressy. A gentleman came in shorts so I guess they are acceptable.
The food took a bit of time to get, about half an hour but it was manageable. I had the smoked trout for an appetizer and quite enjoyed it (it is served cold and smoked in house which is a nice touch). For dinner, my main entree was the bison and pork pie which was good also. Everything was beautifully laid out. My wife had the onion soup which she really liked and the beef bourguignon which tasted very good but only some of the beef was tender.. some quite chewy.
Service was friendly. We got seated right away. The waiter was new to the dinner menu as she came over from breakfast time and was not yet fully familiar with the menu.
Price was reasonable and for a $100 bucks with tax and tip, not overwhelming for a couple that want to enjoy a night out in a fining dining leaning restaurant.
Excellent food. Quite enjoyed the smoked trout for app and the duck breast under the chef special.
