Excellent food and great service staff! The style of the ambiance is not for me personally, but it was overall quite beautiful and they had a really neat motorbike on display. Again I must emphasise how incredible the food was. As well as the espresso!! Great choice of restaurant for an anniversary dinner.
Great pizza and pasta as usual. The service is always great and we feel spoiled.
The pizza was full of good flavour - only downside was the soggy middle crust- fix that and it would have been perfect.
Very nice wine list - had the Michele Satta Rosso - reasonable value.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere! Love this place!
Pulcinella has some of the best pizza I have had, whether it be in southern Italy, New York or Washington, DC, where we're from. It has a very inviting ambience and the waiters are great raconteurs. All in all, my wife and I loved eating there and did it twice, on our entry into Calgary and our exit.
Food was great. Unfortunately the food was very slow in coming out. We were there for lunch, mid week. Downstairs was pretty much empty and we were seated upstairs. Took an hour for the pizzas alone.
Our server was fantastic and as usual the food was delicious! Very impressed and will continue to return.
The food was amazing and so were the drinks!
We were excited to go try the pizza, as we loved it in Rome, truly disappointed with this authentic pizza, as it was wet and sloppy in the middle (uncooked) and just plain chewy, nothing like the wonderful pizza in Roma!?! Our server was fantastic, and the sangria were great, patio was great, but the pizza was awful, bad, we will not be back, for pizza waste of time and money, go somewhere else.
Disappointed and if that is official pizza, they should be struck off the list.
Thanks and have a wonderful day!
Delicious authentic Italian cuisine. I haven't had pizza like that since Italy. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful patio! Food is excellent!
THE BEST PIZZA AND TRIAMUSI THAT I AND MY FAMILY EVER HAD.... LOVED THE FOOD, THE WINE AND THE DESSERT WERE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Have been to pulcinella many times. Great location. Pizza a bit burnt. Our biggest comment for the night is the cutting thing. I get that you are from Italy (as am I) and the non cutting of the pizza is a thing, but if someone asks to cut the pizza, can you just do it please? It is not a sword to die on and should be something the waiter can just accommodate. Instead my one friend spent about 5-10 min trying to carve through it all. Thank you for your consideration.
Felt we were oversold on the number of pizzas we needed.
We love Pulcinella, always a good place to meet up with people and relax. Casual, tasty, nice people, good service, sometimes food takes a little time to get to the table, but that can happen anywhere, it's not a big deal. Almost always a busy place, others love it, too. Busy is good.
And, pizza and pasta generous quantity, so there's usually something to take home to
make another meal out of -- nothing wrong with that!
I almost always get a salad and the calamari and call it dinner -- protein and greens, always a good dinner, I think! And the calamari is some of the best in the city, for sure.
Thank you, Pulcinella, we'll be back, we always are!
We have been customers since it opened and it is always great. They have a great oven and know how to use it. The Romana pizza I had was delicious. The pasta was very fresh and lovely on the mouth. Kept our water glasses full. Great table by an open window on a sunny evening. Can't ask for more.
It was our first time at Pulcinella and we really enjoyed it. The food is very flavorful and nicely presented. The 3 course lunch special is a great deal for only $17! We will definitely return to try more of the great food!
We had a wonderful time with our family. Our server was excellent with our kids and had paid attention to our reservation saying there were allergies in our party. My sister in law was extremely impressed with how they accommodated her. We were all very impressed! Thank you for a wonderful evening out!
First time this past Friday, May 5th, and I would definitely return. Our group had the mussels, calamari, rigatoni, lasangna and 2 types of pizza. Everyone really enjoyed what they ate! Service was great and attentive but not overdone.
Definitely make a reservation as it was packed!
One down side, was very very hot - either was no a/c or didn't have it on yet. It was a beautiful night but it got pretty hot to the point of being uncomfortable. Not sure if it was where we were sitting but I'm guessing if you got a table by the window it would be much better.
I had chosen this Pizzeria for our Special Date Night as we are Italian and love wood stone oven thin crust pizza like my husband’s Mother makes (but she lives in Torotno).
We have been to Double Zero, Without papers, Brooklyn Pizzeria, Crazy Weed Kitchen in Canmore and many many others all over the city just for their wood stone oven baked pizzas
This was the FIRST time we experienced our pizza NOT cut? We wer a tad confused as we were provided a dull steak knife and a whole pizza.
When I asked I made my husband embarrassed (proud Italian)
We were provided a dull steak knife that would not cut through the raw prosciutto. We were not sure why they wanted to make it difficult for customers and inconvenience them.
When I asked the waitress (who was very pleasant and kind) she explained that they do not slice their pizzas in Naples. We understand. But we also live in Canada – so to be inconvenienced like this – we were not feeling very welcomed….
Thank you for listening. Kathleen
I have been here several times and love it. However i did not like the spaghetti carbonara
fantastic pizza selection
one of the best wood fired pizza ovens in the City.
Pizza was soggy & no flavour but burrata and calamari are quite tasty.
The pizza here is amazing. As a place that specializes in Pizza, perhaps one shouldn’t have the highest expectation of the pasta. Overall however, we had zero complaints about the food. As a group of 6 we arrived while the restaurant was mostly empty. As people started getting our food before us we wondered if we had been forgotten. Apparently the kitchen got busy and it plainly took over an hour to get our food. I think the worst part here is that not only was there no apology from our waiter, he didn’t even look in our direction nor come to check on us beyond asking us if we wanted a second drink 45 minutes prior to us getting our food. We had to put forth quite an effort to get any attention from staff. We were incredibly disappointed in such poor service from one of our favourite restaurants.
Everything was good, but the food prep took longer than we expected.
Food was great but the waitress would do best to watch what she’s doing when pouring water. Our entire table was a pool. And she kept coming back to pour more over the table. She forgot things we asked for for the pizza.
The food however was very good.
Excellent food, staff was very accommodating when I changed my reservation time...twice. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!
Great atmosphere and great food. We especially enjoyed the Caprese salad!!
Reminded me of having pizza in Venice 2 years ago. Closest I've found to real Italian pizza.
Always enjoy dining here. Server, on this occasion, was exceptional.
Great service and pizza!!!!
Great food, good service, prices feel reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. A little too noisy for our party of seven to be able to talk down the table. Will be back!
Lindsay was amazing!!!
Great service and food!
Had a tasty dinner at Pulcinella for my birthday! Second time visiting the restaurant. Delicious pizzas with a wide selection of toppings, including lots of options for vegetarians! I recommend adding arugula to the mushroom pizza, it’s so tasty. I do wish they’d cut the pizzas in the kitchen prior to serving, it makes it awkward to try and hack it apart at the dinner table with your dining companions (I know it’s traditional in Italy not to cut the pizzas, it’s not really user-friendly though). Also, it’s quite loud in the restaurant, makes it hard to have a nice conversation when everyone has to yell at each other over the noise of the restaurant and then you can’t hear anyone anyways. But it’s loud because it’s busy because the food is good so that’s the trade off. Open concept kitchen, it’s fun to watch the chefs working on the pizzas. Our food was ready quite quickly, which was great. All in all I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Great food, lovely ambiance and great service. Will definitely be back.
This lively Kensington location offers a sophisticated pizza experience. Although busy, the service is attentive without being syrupy intrusive. The portobello appetizer was outstanding as were our r pizza selections. Consider spitting a pizza as they are large enough but the crust will make you want more! This will allow you to share a dessert. With a fine wine and special coffees our tab was just over $100. A most enjoyable evening.
Delicious pizza and wine - and service was great. Quite a bit of background noise even though not overly busy so personal conversation was a little challenging. Will go back though!
