Punch Bowl Social Detroit Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation at 6:30 pm for 7 and I was excited to get my team together for some fun and relationship building, just doing something different - having fun downtown. At 3:00 on the day of our event/reservation, I heard from the restaurant that we would not have access to any activities because of private parties. We still kept the reservation and wanted to have the experience of the restaurant, hoping it would still be lively and fun - but it wasn't. Food was fine, drinks were good, service was good - but we were hoping for so much more since we can get that in many other places.
Great Brunch and excellent staff. Whether we have been there for brunch or drinks after a sporting event, this place is a lot of fun.
We had a 1:00pm reservation but ended up arriving by 11:45am and it was no problem. We both ordered the Fargo bowl which is a wonderfully eclectic and healthy option but filling and satisfying as well. We were meeting up on a holiday to talk for hours so we ordered various drinks as well. It was incredibly loud in the dining part of the restaurant, which is unusual.. because they had a college game blasting. But we commented on it and the waitress took care of it.
Food was amazing. Kids had a blast at the arcade. Only issue was one of the entrees we ordered arrived at least 15 minutes after the other entrees.
Restaurant was out of items and service was inattentive
Babysitting the kids
We went there for Christmas Eve. Not a good choice for what I had in mind...no ambiance. They seated us in the bar area (where we were the only guests). Main dining room would have been better. Very cold temperature made it uncomfortable. Service was good. Food looked unattractive but was actually tasty. Would be fine for casual dinner just not special occasion.
The restaurant wasn’t even 50% full. Our server was very nice. However, the kitchen was a total mess. It took 45 min for our appetizer to come. It was sitting under lights for a good 25 min before arriving to our table (we were seated right by the window and could see it) it was cold and lacking flavor. The staff overall seemed very slow and uninterested. Every table surrounding us was upset with their meals (cold, taking too long, wrong dish, etc). Our entrees arrived and looked rushed and not prepared well at all. I usually don’t complain about dining experiences, but this one was exceptionally disappointing. PBS is a place to get drinks and play games....nothing more.
Disappointed that Punch Bowl thought to call and confirm our reservation but FAILED to mention that a majority of the restaurant would be closed down due to a private party. We had kids in our group that we specifically took there to enjoy the entertainments such as bowling & darts. This is the fun of going to Punch Bowl and it was not available to us. Very poor experience and only 1 single bathroom for our side of the restaurant available!
The atmosphere of this place was amazing. Nice loud place to get together with some friends. Would definitely recommend for get together. Food was just OK, but we went for the fun.
We did not have a wait. We walked right in and we’re seated immediately. Everyone was very nice and friendly, especially our waiter. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because my friend and I were looking forward to bowling and the other activities. However, Quicken Loans rented out the part of the venue that included the bowling alley. Other than that, we had a great town! My friend was visiting from out of town and she kept saying how good the food was!
Game day. Totally unrelated for the crowd. We waited for 90 minutes and never got our food so we left and went to the game which also was poorly managed by the way.
Great place for a served brunch...the grits are amazing
I was pleased with the food. The shrimp and grits, waffles, black eye pea humus, and red velvet cake were all delicious.
The food appearance, flavor, amount and price are all good; however, the service suffers.
The wait staff needs to be trained. Their attire is atrocious, ranging from too small tops to jeans with tears up to their behind while the chef and food service team have nice uniforms.
Also, the music is ridiculously LOUD! One cannot hold a conversation with table guest and even the wait staff could not hear without us shouting when we placed our order.
Great place to meet for food or and or refreshments, this place has a lot of activities to do from bowling to watching TV
The restaurant was not crowded but it still took over an hour for a party of 4 to receive food after ordering.
Our server was fantastic. Food was good, but underwhelming/nothing super-special, and we had to cancel our dessert order because everything was taking so long and we had to get to a concert. The drinks were great though!
It took them 3 tries before they could deliver a warm bologna sandwich with melted cheese & toasted bread.
The hostess could care less if we were there...POOR attitude...waitress was very pleasant . Need a much larger menu for vegetarians...
Just about the worst restaurant I ever ate in east of the Mississippi
Service was terrible. Food was hard and tasted old. The waitress was ignoring us and walking away when we were given orders. She was unprofessional and she seemed very irritated with her job. She was rolling her eyes and being rude.
Great place to take kids or teens who want to game and hang out. We went from 3:30 pm-6:00 so it was not overly crowded and that was great for us. The servers were very friendly and helpful but it was slow and inaccurate.
Food was fantastic, but the service was really bad. We were there on a Tuesday night at 7pm and it took forever to get our drinks. The manager ended up having to make my drink it was taking so long. The food came out at a fine pace, but we waited for quite a long time to get our check as well.
Service was awesome and the food was great!!! A real nice experience
Drinks are small and overpriced. Chicken and biscuits was dry and no sauce.
I have been to Punch Bowl before but today was diffferent. The service was not the best and the food was ok. The staff at the host stand were very loud and unprofessional in there conversations as I sat at the bar a few feet away. The bartender was speaking with off duty staff and took 7 mins to acknowledge me and take my order. One item that I ordered was charged incorrectly (it was not put in as happy hour). I love the chicken and waffles but today they were dry. The second drink I ordered was mad incorrectly. Our server when I was at my dinner table was phenomenal! Great attitude and service. She was my only highlight this time.
Meant for this to be a fun stop during a bachelor party to drink up and have fun with the games they had to offer(bowling, pool). Reserved a table for my buddies on a WEDNESDAY. Was not informed that the entire social/game area was completely blocked off for an event.
Considering this seems to be the main attraction for this establishment, it seems a bit unfair to not at least be informed that you can't get access to 3/4 of the place.
Our server Alex was amazing, and our food was great!
Our visit was exquisite. Our food was great and our server Rachel was very friendly and accommodatingredients. That was my first time there and loved it. I will definitely be returning with more friends
Very nice experience. Food was interesting and good.
The food was pretty good and the drinks were enjoyable. The only dissapointment was that the side of the restaurant with all of the activities was rented out and unavailable for use. This was one of the only reasons we came to Punch Bowl. Would be nice if they maybe posted this at their entrance to let customers know.
Was not notified that the main area of the establishment was not available, disappointing.
We have now dined at the Denver and Detroit Punch Bowl Social's and they are amazing all around. Such a fun atmosphere, great food, and the drinks are amazing. It is perfect for gathering with friends or enjoying a night out with your partner. I would 100% recommend this location.
Very nice atmosphere. Good food and good service
Should not be able to make reservations after a certain time as you can't get a full menu. We had to order off the snack menu. However, the food was still good. In addition, at that time, although we were seated at a table, the waitress informed us that she couldn't serve us and that we had to get up and go to the bar to order our food and drinks. Thanks
Server was amazing. Food was delicious. Music was a bit too loud.
Worst Bloody Mary I have ever had!!!
We had A very bad experience.Restaurant was not busy. Food came out wrong and service was horrible. Will not be going back.
Alicia the waitress was AMAZING! She totally made me and my dates experience excellent. She was full of energy and made us laugh all night. The food was out prompt and the service was great.
Great place to bowl and have drinks. Also good arcade area and good for celebrating birthdays!
