Was very happy with the experience would definitely recommend
We really enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower pizza! Would get it again
We celebrated my parents 55th wedding anniversary there with a simple lunch. Virginia who liked after us was exceptional. We had such a lovely visit and were enjoying our time there so much that lunch almost became dinner!
The food and service is very good but we were disappointed because we had hoped for fish and chips.. the last time we were there the chef was able to make them for us and it was delicious.
Always enjoy our meals at Pure Spirits and our latest dinner was no exception. Great food and service and love the ambience!
Excellent food and oysters. Service was outstanding from host and especially waiters.
We have been coming here for years. The food is always good and freshly cooked and it is so handy for Soulpepper
Jay is one of the best servers at Pure Spirits. Of course everyone is great, but Jay is a pro who knows how to make an everyday dining event a special one. This restaurant consistently serves great food!
Not cheap, but great food. The chef understands great flavor is not overwhelming. Very good service, friendly staff. Great cocktails, too. I've eaten here probably 50 times and am looking forward to the next 50!
We visited Toronto and found great reviews for this restaurant. We were delighted beyond expectations. The chef is excellent! Fresh oysters, great seafood entrees. The Harvest Salad was very generous, even halved for us. Fresh roasted vegetables, goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, pistachios, quinoa and sublime dressing. Even the ciabatta rolls were delicious. Everything is made in-house. Service was great, attentive but never felt rushed. Distillery District is charming and includes shops, a bakery, restaurants and a distillery. If you can get there, GO.
We started our evening with gin and tonics, which were a giant disappointment. We all noted a total lack of taste compounded by tonic that was flat. What a horrible way to begin! Our appetizers were tasty and perhaps the only acceptable part of our dinner. The trout mains were perhaps a bit dry while the potatoes and green beans should have been cooked longer. We ordered a bottle of wine and our waitress brought two bottles; the one we ordered and another of the same grape but more expensive and a simple no was not enough. And to top off our experience were the high prices for only acceptable food. It will be a while before we return.
Lovely patio table, great service, great food. Wished they had a drink special of the day, but they had buck-a-shuck, so that was great :)
Happy to have brought my friends from out of town to show case the best of Toronto. Happy for the overall service!
Fabulous fish dinner! I had the Sauteed Rainbow Trout and it was to die for! My girlfriend had the Pan Seared Walleye and she loved it. Lovely atmosphere and good service. All in all a 10 out of 10!
Great service, good food and overall good experience.
Poor food. Terrible service. Disappointing trip to Distillery district
Have loved this place for years! Typically go during the Christmas market but tried it recently during the normal time of year. I found they had changed the menu and taken a lot of really good things off. Sadly those are the things I went wanting. I’m vegetarian and I understand it’s a seafood place so options are minimal with that being their focus. Although, they had many more meat/seafood free options before. I find it’s a great place where I could bring friends and family since they all eat seafood and I could still find yummy options for myself. Sadly my options have greatly decreased. Their drinks are always amazing and what I did get was great but I wish they’d even add a couple things back to give us more than 3 options of food. There wasn’t even a good way to substitute or remove anything from there other dishes or it would’ve been practically nothing in the dish for $25. Food for thought I’d you have different dietary needs in your party.
Great Restaurant with great choices of food, especially Oysters and other seafood.
We were disappointed with the food overall. Two of us had the mussels. The provencal was sent back because it smelled “off.” The thai sauce was very thin and the mussels really tiny. The poached halibut was dry and bland. The fourth diner had the chicken and said was fine. Service was good however since we were dining before the theatre and we were served quickly. But for the prices charged, the food should have been better.
Usually a good place but today all the fries were old and stale - inedible. One of our mains took 30 mins (so one person didn’t have food while the other two did). Manager (very nice) ended up taking that dish off the bill but server should’ve done it automatically due to poor food quality and long wait. Visit often, hope it goes back to good!
Good meal, great service and enjoyable surroundings...
We always bring our visitors to Pure Spirits as it is an excellent restaurant. I love the lobster pappardelle but in the past I have put comments in my reviews that they could be a little more generous with the lobster and they listened, as this time it improved. I still think for the price there could be a few more lobster chunks but it was delicious. Our friends were impressed and loved the food. Our server as a delight and very helpful with our choices.
Beautiful oysters, excellent cocktails and great service!
Good selection of oysters, largely east coast. Large selection of apps. Chose Fish feature was hoki in tempura balanced nicely wit quick pickled vegetables and Tuna Niçoise salad. Both were enjoyed
Service was spotty and had virtually disappeared by the end of meal
I ordered mussels - they were like...muscles. Tough and tasteless.
Amazing food, ambiance was perfect and our server, Addison, made our visit so enjoyable. We love this restaurant and highly recommend to anyone wanting fresh seafood in the city.
We always come here for oysters and dinner. The service and food quality is always impeccable.
Sat on patio and had a great spot overlooking the Tank House lane with excellent service! Our waiter managed to modify the Chef’s Shucker dozen to remove 1/3 oyster types we didn’t want. I suspect they don’t do that very often - for speed of service. Really appreciated that. Their oysters are a tad pricey - closer to $4/each vs range shown on menu on OpenTable. Rosemary spiced fries - delicious!! Our mains were pretty good. Rainbow trout was tasty and a good size. However the walleye was quite small for price - tasted great though. Recommend the mixed mushroom for sharing side. Overall a great experience!
Love this restaurant!
It was ok. I expected more based on the reviews. It was pricey. We ordered oysters for appetizers $16 & we were served 4 oysters
Food and service good only complaint I have is that I called the restaurant an hour before our reservation to see if we could get into the restaurant early and I was told by a staff member that there was no available tables until my reservation time we got to the restaurant 45 minutes before our actual reservation the restaurant in fact was totally empty.
Excellent service. Friendly smiling faces. Everyone knows and does their jobs. Outdoor patio chairs are uncomfortable.
Very disappointed in our last visit.
I requested a booth upon reservation but when we were seated by the hostess they gave us the one next to the front door ...I asked for the next one over but they said no it was reserved. Well I reserved one as well and I was there first...not sure why I couldn't move over one.
Next waitress didnt punch in our appetizer so we waited at least 45 min till she realized and then we got two orders right after each other
Finally the drinks are expensive for the smallest cocktail I've ever had! It was a little more than a shot.
I wont be back.
We always enjoy Pure Spirits! Thanks for another great meal!!
Great service. Exceptional selection of Oysters!
We enjoyed a great meal and took advantage of the $1 oysters offered on Tuesdays. The food and service was great.
We found the outdoor chairs rather uncomfortable.
Another great time. Until next time.
