Grab a seat at the Oyster Bar where you can mingle with a Chef shucking your oysters to order and teaching you about the amazing flavours and how to best match it to our selection of local beers.
Always great food!
Good food, service was ‘ok’. We’d visit again.
Good selection of oysters.
We went for buck a shuck night and my girlfriend and I waited 33 minutes for our first order of a dozen oysters to come to our table. Servers were far too busy to provide necessary service. We waited 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our table, 5 minutes for a server to come and take a drink order, and 15 minutes for that drink to get to us. We then ordered a dozen oysters which we didn’t receive for another 33 minutes. Our drinks sat empty on our table as servers speed-walked by us. In over an hour and 20 minutes we managed to eat 6 oysters each and our second round of drinks got to us while we were paying our bill. We left to go eat somewhere else.
Love the place and miss the food but need to save the money first! Will be back soon
Great ambiance. Waitress Cheyenne and Manager Mathew went out of their way to ensure a memorable birthday experience for my 5 year old grandson and both of our birthdays. Little did they know this was the night before a very major surgery at Sick Kids. Their positivity paved the way to a successful outcome. Thank you for great dining experience from which Elliot proclaimed best restaurant in Toronto. Why? Best bread with melted butter.
Food was undercooked. Staff were not interested in working and creating an experience
Food was good but everything we did want to order was out. Which is upsetting because you look forward to it and then when you order it you’re told there is no more. Should have told us right away what is sold out
We have dined here before and have always been pleased with the food and service but I think they are cutting back. We were not offered bread for the table and, I ordered a Caesar Salad with the added option of a chicken breast for $8. I counted 6 tiny pieces of chicken about the size of my pinky finger nail - hardly a chicken breast. They need to change the menu description to small pieces of chicken and reduce the price to $1. Also they did not have the dessert my friends ordered and did not offer an alternative. We were disappointed.
Our server Darren was awesome. The food was fabulous. Can’t wait to come back.
Saw a lot of great reviews for the lobster pappardelle and it didn't disappoint! Dinner was absolutely fabulous, great staff, fresh food, trendy atmosphere.
Great Host and hostess
Amazing service and delicious foods
My wife and I have been patrons at this restaurant repeatedly over the years. On this occasion, we certainly enjoyed the oysters, as always. Quality was very good and our server was quite knowledgeable. I was however very disappointed with my lobster dinner. The lobster was extremely mushy, waterlogged, and virtually tasteless accordingly. Frankly, for a restaurant that prides itself on serving excellent seafood, I was alarmed that the chef would deliver such a poorly prepared item. Not wanting to raise a fuss, on our anniversary, as I was leaving, I pointed out to the waiter my displeasure with the quality of my meal. As well, we were not pleased with the Caesar salad that was soggy rather than Crisp and far too overladen with greasy bacon.
All in all unfortunately not a very pleasant evening.
Enjoyed a “we made it through the first week of school” dinner with my 11 year old daughter. A little pricey ($100) plus tip for 6 oysters, lobster pasta, chicken fingers with kid sized pop and scoop of ice-cream on kid’s menu, one shared crème brûlée and one glass of wine. All delicious and entrées served hot. Server was very attentive and chatty in a friendly way. Fifties themed music on repeat didn’t fit the decor and ambiance though.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The place was clean, the seafood was very fresh! The service was outstanding. One of my top restaurants and will diffently gi back again and again
We've been many times before and always had a great time. This last visit was just ok. We won't let one mediocre experience keep us from returning but we were disappointed.
Great sea foods menu and good place for hanging out with friends, family, special occasion, and/or business dinner, etc. Definitely recommend to sea food lover! :)
Excellent service. We asked for one salad that we indicted that we were going to share - the server brought the salad out on two separate plates already divided for us. Very hot day but the server kept our water glasses topped up without us asking. Food was excellent!!
Right in the middle of an old distillery complex. Long and narrow inside. Tables outside. Great oyster selection. Excellent wine list. Top main courses. Great overall quality. Truly outstanding and friendly service.
Oysters are awesome! Mains were good and filling. Signature cocktails are great and wine list is descent. Great patio atmosphere and busy if you like places that are full.
Great for a drink and bite on the lovely patio. We're not fans of oysters, but they're a popular choice here. Can see relaxing on the patio with out-of-town guests after strolling around the Distillery.
My dad enjoys eating here when he comes to town. Great oyster selection, ambiance, service, and the food never disappoints.
Have the Lobster Pappardelle - it’s out of this world!
Dined at Pure Spirits. Hubby had the seafood boil which was kind of on the small side, so I think he was hungry after eating that. So I shared my large and yummy Niçoise salad with him. Also ordered the fries with the trio of sauces and half dozen oysters. Also delicious and fresh. Special thank you to our waiter who brought out crayons and drew a picture for our 1.5 year old daughter. And given that we brought her along we hinted that we didn’t know how long she would sit still for dinner and asked if it could be rushed. And we had our meal done in an hour. It was so nice to have a meal out on the town and the waiter really helped us enjoy our dinner.
Service was slow
We asked for a birthday cake for my mom, it came without a candle
Host and server were both gracious and friendly. We sat on the patio and was nicely asked if I wanted shade or sun. Food was delicious, the chef was nice enough to substitute the salmon for the bass with everything else that came with it. Such great flavours. All in all a great experience. I would definitely go again.
Great service from Ben! Food great value and well worth it! Lobster dish was great
Nice food, helpful waitress, beautiful location with putdoor patio and good drinks.
this is one of our favourite restos but this time , first time the service was late and the meat was overcooked .
But we love them
Really good moment at Pure Spirit. Traditional mussels and ricotta gnocchi were very good. Waiters and waitresses are nice and smiling.
The only thing I dislike was the AC with temperature too low for us.
The food was quite mediocre and we had to send back one cocktail... the octopus was pretty much cold... the oysters and musses were OK...
The prices dont match the taste or portions.
Food was very tasty and the service was impeccable.
The chicken and waffles on the brunch menu was not anything special. The oysters were fresh and Japanese's chowder was tasty.
I went for my birthday and it was a lovely meal. We had octopus to start (pictured) which was cooked perfectly as well as a slow cooked beef skewer (delicious). The mains were just as outstanding and they made special arrangements as it was my birthday- overall exceptional (and we were able to book in the afternoon for the evening!) I enjoyed the food so much I forgot to take photos of the meals other than the first starter
Our server, Anetta, was amazing! She took great care of us and made the evening special for my mom’s 88th birthday.
Great patio on a warm summer Friday night!
Went for our anniversary.
We were a bit surprised when our server came over and just looked at us. We said hello, he didn't. Maybe we've been smothered by the arrangements at places like Jack's but we were shocked at not being greeted or introduced to our server. I don't need his name written in crayon on the table cloth but 'hello, I'm Henry' makes me feel welcomed and acknowledged.
Anyway, the food.
A dozen varied oysters to start. They'd already run out of some options at 7pm...Oyster Bar?! They were ok overall but took 20+ minutes to come over and weren't particularly clean.
We shared dishes after and ordered mussels and fries, an octopus dish, and calamari.
The calamari was wonderful.
The octopus dish was just a small plate of semi-cooked potatoes covered in squid ink with one tentacle that had been cooked for about 6 weeks.
The mussels smelled of a washroom. The smell carried into the taste and we left most. Maybe the Thai sauce was a bad call.
$250 later, I wish we'd gone to Smoked and Cracked on Mount Pleasant.
Having the opportunity to go out and sit in the courtyard bar until my reservation made the evening that much more enjoyable. We even went back after dinner to enjoy the comfortable chairs and cocktails.
Service was great. Gave lots of suggestions for future dining. Was very pleasant. We shared the lobster dish and the server took it upon himself to split it in 2 dishes.
Will be back
Food was salty and very small portion size. I ordered the red snapper and I didn't even get a full fillet portion only a quarter size fillet. Not worth the cost for food and to add on top it was slow service. I was disappointed because I went there based on the reviews.
2nd visit to the restaurant. First visit was great! Had mussels and short ribs. This time the portion of the short ribs was unacceptable! Large bone and hardly any meat...manager’s response thru our server....did not have the courtesy to talk to us in person....”we measure every portion, the short ribs are supposed to be 7-8oz including the bone. If you got a larger bone...too bad!!!! Seriously???
We won’t be back.
Lugar súper acogedor con estilo moderno industrial, muy jovial, si buscas mariscos hay pocas opciones pero la pasta y las entradas son muy ricas
