I went for my birthday and it was a lovely meal. We had octopus to start (pictured) which was cooked perfectly as well as a slow cooked beef skewer (delicious). The mains were just as outstanding and they made special arrangements as it was my birthday- overall exceptional (and we were able to book in the afternoon for the evening!) I enjoyed the food so much I forgot to take photos of the meals other than the first starter
Our server, Anetta, was amazing! She took great care of us and made the evening special for my mom’s 88th birthday.
Great patio on a warm summer Friday night!
Went for our anniversary.
We were a bit surprised when our server came over and just looked at us. We said hello, he didn't. Maybe we've been smothered by the arrangements at places like Jack's but we were shocked at not being greeted or introduced to our server. I don't need his name written in crayon on the table cloth but 'hello, I'm Henry' makes me feel welcomed and acknowledged.
Anyway, the food.
A dozen varied oysters to start. They'd already run out of some options at 7pm...Oyster Bar?! They were ok overall but took 20+ minutes to come over and weren't particularly clean.
We shared dishes after and ordered mussels and fries, an octopus dish, and calamari.
The calamari was wonderful.
The octopus dish was just a small plate of semi-cooked potatoes covered in squid ink with one tentacle that had been cooked for about 6 weeks.
The mussels smelled of a washroom. The smell carried into the taste and we left most. Maybe the Thai sauce was a bad call.
$250 later, I wish we'd gone to Smoked and Cracked on Mount Pleasant.
Having the opportunity to go out and sit in the courtyard bar until my reservation made the evening that much more enjoyable. We even went back after dinner to enjoy the comfortable chairs and cocktails.
Service was great. Gave lots of suggestions for future dining. Was very pleasant. We shared the lobster dish and the server took it upon himself to split it in 2 dishes.
Will be back
Food was salty and very small portion size. I ordered the red snapper and I didn't even get a full fillet portion only a quarter size fillet. Not worth the cost for food and to add on top it was slow service. I was disappointed because I went there based on the reviews.
2nd visit to the restaurant. First visit was great! Had mussels and short ribs. This time the portion of the short ribs was unacceptable! Large bone and hardly any meat...manager’s response thru our server....did not have the courtesy to talk to us in person....”we measure every portion, the short ribs are supposed to be 7-8oz including the bone. If you got a larger bone...too bad!!!! Seriously???
We won’t be back.
Lugar súper acogedor con estilo moderno industrial, muy jovial, si buscas mariscos hay pocas opciones pero la pasta y las entradas son muy ricas
The food we had was amazing. Both the appetizer and main meal were new dishes so they were offering them as specials. Not only did the food taste good, but the waitress we had was very knowledgable about the menu and the drinks and wine menu. She was able to make appropriate suggestions about the pairing of wine and food. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
Good oysters, bad service and an unnecessary wait of 15 minutes to get into a near-empty restaurant.
YUMMY! I am from out-of-town and wanted to stroll the distillery district. Came upon this restaurant via Google Maps. We ordered the oyster sampler...DELICIOUS, the piri piri chicken skewer, which my friend appreciated more than I and the home fries with 3 dips. Add a nice glass of australian white and we throughly enjoyed every bite/sip!!
Highly recommended to fellow oyster lovers! The PEI and NB ones were our favs.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable on the different types of oysters. We all had something different for our mains. Everything was delicious.
Food was not good too expensive
Server brought out main course before we even finished our starters
I’ve been here quite a few times and I always order the steak... this time around the steak was full of fat, barely any meat and it was so chewy
Our meals were outstanding, our server was great, all together a delightful evening.
Love this place. I asked my wife to marry me here and we always come back. Great oysters, food, wine, and service
First time here. Went based on recommendations from colleagues and friends. Will definitely go back and tell them not to go again. Although not busy, service wasn't great ( and that's being nice (
Had to wait long times for the food. One of the oysters were anything but fresh. Had a difficult time getting our server's attention all night long. Had to ask for our beer 3 times. Food 4 times. And not one apology for being late or slow. Anyway.... not a great experience at all. Dont mind paying for good food and good service but both were severely lacking tonight.
Celebrated Fathers day with the family .... The out door seating was spacious with that unique feel!! Had to try the oysters ...so delicious with a variety to choose from. The main course was amazing too!
The pricing was fair ....considering the added drinks!
I would definitely make another stop here!
Was a bday and a father's day dinner... loved it! The waiter was quick and courteous. He was knowledgeable about the various meals which was enlightening.
Awesome oysters!! Beautiful warm day thus we were able to enjoy a table outside.
We had a nice lunch, the service was wonderful! But we did order the $10 fries and three 'dips' which we thought would be good for sharing. To our surprise and amusement the three dips were ketchup, mayo & malt vinegar : ) you know like condiments - yep - the same three dips you would get at say : McDonalds, LOL. So before you think that you are paying extra to get some nice gourmet dips for you super expensive fries, think again. Other than that the oysters were delish and on a sunny day it was a lovely (though a tad overpriced) lunch.
Too expensive for the portion sizes provided. Could see why the huge outdoor patio and very large indoor portion, was pretty vacant of diners. This on a beautiful Thursday early evening, before 2 sold out performances at Young Theatre across the alley.
Great night. Welcoming host, amazing food. The service was not great. I got water refills for us myself. He cleared our bottle of wine while there was still 2 full glasses in it and we had to stand up to stop him because loudly saying scuse me wasn't doing anything. But the mood was great.
The restaurant was recommended highly by friends and we weren't disappointed. Food was excellent and in right proportions. service great and filled our time frame perfectly without feeling rushed.
Excellent management! They really know how to take care of their customers.
Despite our reservation, we waited over 10 minutes for someone to come to the table to get our drinks order. Then when we were ready to pay, we waited again over 10 minutes that we finally had to a ask someone else to get our bill.
Caesar salad was tasteless. Main course was very very slow in coming and only luke warm.
Great food and service; nice spot for celebrating an anniversary and the long weekend. The booth seats provide a nice private feel within the vast dining room.
We’ve booked a table for 3 today @5.30 but since we had our puppy with us we weren’t able to sit all together so my husband and daughter took their turn first while I walked the dog around .
They also did ordered my main course with theirs and told the waitress I’d join in half an hours time . When my hubby finished eating we switched and I joined my daughter to grab a bite , I reminded our waitress my course and she said it won’t take long because she said she already ordered to the kitchen beforehand .
To keep it short that main course never arrived , waitress kept on telling it won’t take long ! I’ve cancelled my order and paid the bill and we left .
Btw before we booked the table while we were having a walk around the distillery we saw a family dining there and their pup was waiting outside the patio then we decided to book a table @ pure spirits so that we can do the same but they didn’t let us do it
Food was fantastic, and the mussels and fries combo we got were more than fairly priced. Awesome that you guys still did online reservations on a holiday. Such a painless and enjoyable experience. Great staff to boot.
I'm facing at the oyster bar, and people who in charge there make me hesitate to eat the oyster, due to they smell every oyster very close to their nose, and also blow air for their reason.
Other than the fact that it was scold and rainy day, dining outside always a treat. Food different and the atmosphere pleasant enough to enjoy at least some good relaxing time together. Menu exciting and staff quite well meaning.
Distinctly underwhelming. Salad Nicoise was truly disappointing and mundane. Service was pleasant and relatively quick. We would not return.
Les 3 plats que nous avions commandés pour partager sont tous arrivés en même temps alors forcément ils ont fini par refroidir et ne se mariaient pas très bien tous en même temps: octopus frit, moule frites et pâtes au homard...
Ben are waiter was very helpful with meal suggestion and was friendly
Excellent place to be at Toronto.
Great food! The oysters were amazing and the waitress Tina gave perfect recommendations for wine pairings.
Everything was very good! The appetizers (oysters) took a little while to come but well worth it.
Great ambience and service. We had the AYCE mussels and the food was amazing. Will definitely go back.
