Great lunch special - 3 courses for $25. Excellent!
I have never been disappointed with the service and the food at Q haute. It is “Calgary’s” best value for lunch.
Mother's Day feast with delicious tea, buffet was superb. Service was delightful. We had a lovely time. In a great area of city. Will definitely come again!
Beautiful food that was nicely presented. Service was excellent and the food was delicious
Wasn't impressed! The overall experience was fair at best.
Food and service were excellent
I have been to and introduced many friends to Q'Haute and it is a favourite go-to place. Interesting recipes with smaller portions on the lunch menu are beautifully prepared and very filling. Has always been consistently high experience, however last week I had a new waiter and the service was poor and slow, and for the first time ever the food was just okay rather than amazing (pasta was bland, and both my guests left their dessert saying it was tasteless - usually moan-able). I will return as this was only once out of many, many visits. IF I suffer a repeat though, I will post a review and likely seek a new favourite.
A delightful dining experience. Good food, artfully presented and very good service. Thank you.
Lovely spot will recommend to my friends. Service was great. Great choices from the three course menu.
Unique experience, great food, great time, friendly environment, luxurious venue
We enjoyed the many courses tremendously. Each one was delicious and something new and special. Will definitely return. Great friendly service.
Artistic and well thought presentation. Some interesting courses, and some a delicious dessert to end the meal!
This restaurant has great food and service. I would recommend it to friends, however the parking was terrible. The parking garage across the street closes at 7:30pm. Street parking was almost impossible to find. I would recommend being dropped off at this restaurant. I originally picked the restaurant because their website said they had their own parking lot in addition to the parking garage across the street. This was very misleading. I will not return to this restaurant due to the parking arrangement.
We visited for big taste. The plates were beautiful, tastes were pretty good as well.
Great ambiance and food. Service was great as usual and the dishes always very creative.
The servers and the sommelier were very attentive. The tasting menu gave us an opportunity to sample different options. The wine pairings were also very interesting.
As good as usual !
Lovely location, beautiful views, delicious food well-presented with personal preference options, attentive (but not too much), helpful and friendly servers. Will be looking forward to a return meal.
Food was amazing and just right for lunch - not too heavy just right! The flavours were out standing!!! Every bite was a plethora of flavours, textures and tastes. A beautiful table near the fireplace with a view of the river topped it off. Choosing this place for any occasion - you can’t go wrong!!!
We certainly enjoy coming to Q Haute, we do not come often enough. The food is always special, the service is outstanding. It is a very special place to sit relax and enjoy a fine meal.
Went on Valentine’s Day. They were busy but not too busy. The service staff messed up and we waited a good 20 minutes between not just one, but two of our courses. A set multi course meal should have rhythm. Ours did not. There were a number of other couples who came in after us and they finished their meals before us. A muse bouche and four courses took two and a half hours. The food tasted great but they need to organize their service better. I was watching the staff and the people from outside our area bringing in the food and serving to the table didn’t know which table to bring it to. We actually had food put in front of us, only to be taken away because it was the wrong course.
Outstanding great service with people that enjoy there career
Friendly, professional, expected 4 courses, but a total of 8 items came out. Loved the kitchen walk through and sample desert from the anti grill.
Had a fantastic experience at Q Haute. Delicious and creative cuisine presented in a multi-course prix fixe format. The wine/liquor parings were a great addition to the meal. Service was outstanding and the detailed explanation of each dish and paring really enhanced the dinner. It is a relatively spendy night out, but you are getting far more than a standard restaurant meal for the cost.
Q-Haute is always delicious! They are very accommodating and flexible. I've hosted several events from lunches, afternoon cocktail parties, retirement parties and Holiday parties, all a huge success. The food is fantastic (the portions are quality vs. quantity) and the wine and tea list is extensive. Yes, the tea list! The staff go above and beyond, the venue is beautiful and accommodating to different set ups. 10/10!
We had a fantastic meal and even better service! We'll be back for sure.
Me and my husband came here for a date night because we received a gift certificate as a gift. Our server had too many tables and therefore the service felt a little rushed and impersonal. We received our 1st course even before we got our drinks (I would have liked to order a cocktail and then wine with the meal but there was no time). The portions were quite small but the quality of food was good. We came during their January special (3 course for $39) which was VERY well priced but if I ever came back I think I would do the 5 course because we left feeling a little hungry still. The decor was beautiful and comfortable seating but I would probably try somewhere else before going back.
If you want fresh, delicious, unique food with gorgeous presentation, this is your spot!
This is a must try place
We went for lunch for our anniversary. We had the place to ourselves. We had amazing service and the food was outstanding in flavour and quantity.
Expensive but an amazing experience
Our family had a lovely New Years Eve dinner at Q Haute. The food was exciting, interesting, tasty, well prepared....obviously a very talented chef in the kitchen. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. A lovely place to experience fun gastronomy! We look forward to dining there again!
Lovely place for NYE. Great food, live band and amazing service.
We went there as a family. We had never been at Q for dinner so the tasting menu was a bit of a surprise (although it was mentioned when they confirmed the reservation). We thought there may also be a la carte options, but there weren’t. That being said, the food was very good and original. The 7 course menu was too much food, but included a lot of variety (fish, poultry, lamb, etc.)
We liked the little tour of the restaurant and kitchen in the middle of the meal. It was nice to stretch our legs and see a restaurant kitchen. Service was very attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely a special occasion place. We’ll likely go back on a night they have the 5 course tasting menu (weeknights).
When I made last night's reservation to celebrate our 27th anniversary, I did not read about the set menu, so it was a scary surprise to find out about the 7 courses! I knew the courses would be small, but I usually do not eat a lot, so thank you for thinking about accommodating my needs, in the first place. No worries, both my husband and I had the 7 courses and, eating just half of everything, I managed to try all the good stuff. My favorite was, of course, the "Big Mitch and His Expensive Surprise", accompanied by a very nice Jurançon.
Having a tour of the kitchen (the appliances are amazing!) and explanations about the building's life and renovations was a plus, which made the night even more special. Congratulations and a bit thank you to all the wonderful staff and specially to Josh, who even gave me a bit of Sumatran coffee beans to try at home!
I regret that we celebrated our 6th anniversary here.
-Lamb that was tough and under-seasoned
-Molecular gastronomy that has made the jump from unexpected to inedible (The panna cotta was congealed and chewy)
-Wine pairings designed to save money
There were a few bites throughout the night that were good. The ahi tuna phyllo Cup; divine! The chicken and squash ravioli; mesmerizing!
I will say that the front of house and overall customer service levels were good. The sommelier could tell we were not enjoying our meal and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and valued.
This really comes down to food. If you sit down for a 7 course tasting menu, and pay the corresponding price, you expect a certain level of quality. You will not find that here.
Frustrated, describes both how I feel, and the execution of the menu.
I would not recommend your restaurant for anything, to anyone. Here is my review that I left on Trip Advisor website:
Three hours of wasted time and money. A seven-course dinner consisted of a tiny appetizer, a pasta dish (one piece of chicken ravioli - yes, JUST ONE PIECE), a small piece of tasteless, overcooked beef, and a few more equally revolting items. Total bill: $480 (including tips) for the three of us. And we did not order any booze.
The portions were not tiny - microscopic. It looked more like a silly joke.
For those who go there, seeking a new experience: have a dinner before dining at Haute Cuisine. Oh yes, they will give a tour of their kitchen. Instead of food.
Folks, this is a blatant scam. I've never been more insulted by what they passed to me as "dinner". All three of us felt like idiots.
It was an excellent choice. Very good food and the service is really nice. I would really recommend it.
