Terrible experience for our anniversary today when the hostess offers us bubbles then charges us for them and refused to admit she made the offer. She was very arrogant to the guests and fellow employees. QG doesn’t need our business anymore I guess.
This is a great spot not only for the quality of food and service but for the phenomenal views. Set among the vines looking west toward the sunset and lake is a very special place for sure. Was also impressed with our server (Amy) and the fact that Michael (the GM?) stopped by to chat and make sure all was well. Classy first rate operation for sure!
Larry (and Michelle, of course) :) :)
Nice place, excellent food, great service! Somewhat commercial and very busy. Great location!
Our experience at Quail's Gate was quite disappointing.
We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated within 5 minutes. The scenery was beautiful as we looked onto the Okanagan and vineyard. Our hostess brought over water but did not pour for us - we assumed this was due to COVID restrictions. So we poured our own water. After approximately 10 minutes of waiting, our waitress finally greeted us (to be clear, it was NOT busy) and she seemed pleasant at first, but as the night went on, she just got ruder and ruder. She asked for our drink order and when we said we would stick with water for now, so she just walked away. We probably waited another 10-15 minutes before she came back to check on us. In that time, we saw other servers pouring drinks...not sure why but ours were never re-filled.
We got the oysters to start which where good. Then got the cod, a charcuterie board and sourdough bread to share. The food was good - it was not amazing or memorable.
When our plates were cleared, we waited for the bill. And waited. I used the restroom, my boyfriend used the restroom. Still no bill. We probably waited at least 20 minutes. I would understand if they were busy, but the restaurant was clearly at half capacity. And it was a Monday night.
We will not be going back. I would recommend Mission Hill over Quail's Gate if you are looking for dinner in the wine region.
what an outstanding dining experience
We enjoyed every minute of it!
It's a bit over priced
We booked our anniversary dinner at Quails Gate this past weekend. I was very excited to go here and booked well in advance. When we arrived we were escorted to our table and we ordered some appetizers and a bottle of wine. We observed some tables getting up and taking pictures in the vineyards so ordered our dinner and we asked our waiter if it would be okay to take pictures. Our waiter advised us that we could go take our pictures and come back. We went to take pictures for approx 5 minutes and when we returned our table was cleared completely. Our wine bottle, water, sunglasses and my hand sanitizer were all missing. We quickly asked about our belongings and the waiter said he was so busy and did not notice our table being cleared. The manager looked for my sunglasses while trying to figure out what happened. We sat there for approx 5 minutes waiting to get our wine bottle back and then our dinner came to us. We didn't even get our appetizer at this point so we were so confused. Our dinner was taken back and then we got another bottle of wine since the first one was not found. The manager was able to find my sunglasses and my sanitizer bottle. After this we got our appetizer and dinner followed. We got desert and headed back home. I feel like this dinner was very chaotic and just not what we expected. The wine bottle was given to us as compensation but for us it was more about the experience that we were disappointed about. Nobody should have to sit and stress about their belongings and get their dinner before getting their appetizer and wine bottle back. In my opinion I would not go back to this winery for dinner.
Lovely place beautiful to look out at the vineyards and the good is top notch
Beautiful day so scenery spectacular! However the food was not so good. The salad had brown spots on it and nothing exciting. The mussels were good but the tuna carpaccio was scarce with no flavour in the sauce. The waitress I could not hear her voice through her mask and we found her very uncomfortable. We really loved the scenery so we were ok with the lack of food taste and service.
Our table of six was ignored throughout our time there. Our glasses were empty most of the night, since nobody came to ask us if we wanted more wine. We only had 3 glasses each over the course of 3.5 hours. Food service was incredibly slow. We actually flagged down someone who looked like a supervisor, and we mentioned to him that nobody had been by to ask if we needed anything and our glasses had been empty for thirty minutes, to which he responded: "Oh, you want wine?" Our service didn't improve after that. When our food finally arrived it was bland. The meats were prepared well, but the sides had no seasoning, and nobody came by to offer salt and pepper. At least the building is nice.
Excellent atmosphere and the service was very good. The restaurant had excellent precautions in place for Covid-19 and I was impressed.
Service, and beautiful surroundings made our lunch one to remember. An added delight was the opportunity to sample several wines to better choose what we would like to enjoy with our meal. Our waitress was extremely helpful and fun.
Such a beautiful location with delicious food!!!!
Great food and great wines! Cheers!
Our server, Kelly, was great. She was extremely knowledge about the food and the wines. We very much appreciated the staff complying with Covid 19 WorkSafe BC safety measures. We ordered the albacore tuna carpaccio and seared scallops as appetizers, and the rib eye steaks along with wine pairings. For dessert we ordered the dark chocolate budino and the lemon & coconut tart. Everything was delicious. The view was picturesque.
We had a nice Canada day brunch with Matt as our sever who was very good.
Great place to eat. View fantastic. Quite different with less tables and servers wearing masks. Sometimes hard to hear them speak. Always our favorite restaurant .
Will definitely return
The food was not seasoned and overly bland.
The servers was very polite, kind and knowledgeable, however service was incredibly and unreasonably slow.
Overall, the price is not justified. I likely won’t return and would not recommend.

Had lunch for a family birthday and the scene was really beautiful and the risotto was amazing!!
I was disappointed with my experience, and in my eye the restaurant failed the new social distancing protocols. The food was outstanding but our server was unfortunately to busy with a rowdy table of 12. This group was sat a 2 tables of 6 as they should be, but were so drunk that they stood up and talked in groups, sat on each others laps and did not listen when they were asked to sit down twice. This should not have happened. The table we were at had a lovely lake view, which I'm sure would have been nice. We however got to stare at the backsides of 12 strangers for 2 hours. Our server was unable to check on us during our starter, it was actually brought out by someone else, so we didn't see our server for over an hour. We went out for a special occasion (birthday) and instead of walking away with fond memories we are talking about strangers that downed over 10 bottles of wine. The restaurant is a beautiful building and again the food was wonderful, but I was shocked that this group got away with the way they were acting. I thought Quails Gate would have had a higher standard.
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time. It was super busy and did not have time for a wine tasting but definitely will go back.
Our waiter Matt was very accommodating and helpful.
Overall a great afternoon
Great ambiance, food was excellent and service was great. We really enjoyed the personal feel of our whole experience.
The outdoor seating and overall ambience and views are amazing! The food was just okay, nothing to brag about but the service was great which made the experience worth the price you pay for the food.
The food & service was fantastic! The view was incredible
This was our first visit and only our 2nd time to eat at a well known winery--a special treat for us. Every thing we ate was absolutely delicious and full of wonderful flavour!! We had appies, dinner and dessert. All were great. Our server was fantastic. Allowed us just the amount of time needed to relax, not feel rushed. Every dish was brought at just the right time. The view was lovely. We spend a lot on the meal, but it was worth it for a special treat. I would rate this restaurant #1 in the area.
Amazing location with views of Okanagan Lake. Staff were conscientious with wearing masks.
Food was fresh and delicious. A must visit!
Great food and lovely view...well worth dining here.
Beyond the outstanding food, service, ambiance, and, of course, wine!, we were very pleased with the extra care taken in response to the pandemic. Social distancing and food handling protocols were meticulously maintained while keeping the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that makes The Vines such a wonderful place. Thanks for a memorable birthday!
Beautiful place to have dinner
Service was quiet good !
We had ling cod and rib eye for main course
Mussels and truffle fries for appetizer ( delicious)
Rib eye was not as good I don’t recommend this dish
Either the beef itself is not good or it’s over cooked
Ling cod was delicious, fish is tender ...
But a bit lack of taste. Need more sauce?
Enjoyed a pleasant lunch there after a wine tasting.
Beautiful place to be on a summer’s day. View is outstanding, food and service exceptional.
We arrived at the Winery for an anticipated lunch in their gorgeous restaurant. They were definitely busy given that it was Father's Day. Although we started off a bit rocky(very busy) the manager ended up making our experience so special and memorable. He was so kind to us and made the day that much better. The food was incredible! Beautiful plating. Thank you!
Quail's Gate is a beautiful setting; however, on Father's Day, the service was only so so as they didn't have a bartender and our server seemed overly busy with tables. Food wasn't exceptional for the price point.
View from restaurant is amazing if you an outdoor table and walking amongst the grapes and the view. Little skimpy on the scallops; 3 for $19 not worth it but mussels were. Prices ok too.
Minutes to order wine and another 30 minutes for the olives to show up. Other then that, was great 👍🏽
Very nice view. Good came too quickly after we sat down
One of our favourite places to eat in West Kelowna. Great menu and the food is delicious! Service is always friendly and professional. Sit outside if possible as is quite lovely.
great place! The view is amazing and their service is wonderful.
It was an amazing experience with top notch friendly service!
The fish was oily and centre under cooked. The restaurant was too chilly. After first they tried to give us a terrible table near a lot of traffic but I asked to be moved My husband Cornish hen was dry and tough.
Dinner and service were both amazing! Accompanied with excellent wines, thank you for hosting.
