We booked a res for 8:30 and didn't get seated until 9:15. During our wait we sat at the front table for 20 min without any service. We finally ordered cocktails however they didn't arrive until we were seated 25min later. Our drinks we're complimentary which was fair given the length of time they took to get to our table.
Our party was for 5 however we were placed at a massive wooden table that was supposedly the Chef table but it was difficult to converse given it's size.

Despite the inconveniences the food was good and the service was decent once seated.

The view of the restaurant is amazing, food was delicious, staff was nice and friendly. But after ordering we waited an hour for our food to come, and we had to look for the server whenever we needed something - it seems like they forgot we were there.

Lovely experience and the food was so good. We sat indoors when we had asked for a patio table they paced us by the window and offered to open the windows for us. We got best of both worlds inside with and outside view.

This winery is gorgeous and the food was amazing. However we just didn’t get great service. Originally we were served by a manager while I assume our server was busy. She was great! Then we basically were forgotten about afterward. Which is just sad when you go out for a $150 meal you hope they pour your wine and at least check on your food. We had plans for dessert and whatnot but decided against it because it took so long for someone to come offer the dessert menu. I’d go again but would hope for better service!

A seat near the door ways out looking the vineyard and lake is best! Stunning views, gentle breeze, and fantastic Chardonnay. My wife enjoyed the Salmon (Special Menu) and I was floored by the Halibut. It was the best fish I’ve ever had out, no joke. I wish I had it right now. The establishment welcomed my kids (6, 3) and they loved the Mac and cheese, along with our scallops and fish dishes. For dessert, we enjoyed the lemon tart and it was a perfect finish for me personally.

Portion sizes could be bigger but I’m also a tall man who enjoys food. It was perfect for my petite wife.

Price is higher, but I think you should have known that if you’ve looked into the place. We felt happy with the pricing, we have enjoyed some really nice/expensive places and felt this was fine.

If you like to enjoy a beautiful venue, with a gorgeous vista, with very friendly staff, and enjoy some wonderfully tasty food/wine presented beautifully then we would recommend it.

If you don’t like nice things then avoid it.

The service and ambience were very good, although the food was a bit flat for our group. The pasta was very low in flavour. The Mediterranean dish was excellent, and the risotto was fairly good.

Th Covid measure is set here with distance among tables, we felt comfortable sitting in the always great ambient patio.
Ordered the dinner special, which is lamb wrapped with chicken. Quite well done. The sauce is delicious too. However, the risotto was a bit disappointing. I did not catch the cheese, mushroom and spice aroma I usually love. It is a bit flat for me.
Will visit again to have a glass of wine and charcuterie which will make me happy enough

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks and compliments to our server, Monique. One of our party guests has celiac disease; Monique was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and what substitutions could be made to accommodate restrictions associated with the disease. She was also super attentive, kind and an absolute pleasure to liaise with during our dining experience. Thank you so much! We can’t wait to come back.

Celebrating an anniversary, however upon arriving the ladies greeting were extremely rude from the front entrance to the side entrance. We understand that covid has its strict rules but the guidelines need to be set out clearly upon arriving and not expect the guest to know. We have eaten here many times but was extremely disappointed with the greeting and check in service. Our friends arrived 10 mins after and experienced an even a worse experience then us. Ours was pretty bad already couldn’t imagine it being worse.

Word of advice to the staff at Quals gate..... make sure you greet guest in a friendly manner. You are in the hospitality business. If you’re going to treat people rudely then stay close! Ruins the experience of this vineyard! Set out the rules so your guest knows what to experience such as. “Please sanitize you’re hands and then once you have please stand behind the tree and keep your distance until called upon.” Instead of expecting your guest to know what to do then being extremely rude because they were not even told what to do!

I had supper at Quails Gate last summer as a last minute decision after buying some wine. I felt it was great and made reservations for this summers visit. The tuna carpaccio was amazing. The mussels were good but the broth lacked some flavour. Some leeks would have perked them up. I will say the service was not as good as I remember. I would say that was the only thing that didn’t make it a perfect evening. But I will be back next summer. 🍷

I want to compliment the entire staff and managers especially Elizabeth on how the handled the whole COVID 19 situation.

Not only did they answer any questions and or concerns I had about dining there but they took the time to listen to me.

On top of everything the dinner I had with my family was absolutely amazing and service outstanding.

Well done in a very trying time. i would go back anytime and recommend to friends and family.

Michelle was such a great server. She always checked up on us and asked if we needed anything. Initially we were sat outside on the patio but it was quite windy. We were thankful that we were warned by the hostess and manager (I believe...he was wearing a nice suit!) that our food may fly away due to the vigorous winds! We had such an amazing experience and would recommend my family and friends (and everyone else too!) to visit this place! Thank you for an awesome experience! I would love to visit again.

I've been wanting to eat at Quails Gate Winery for a long time, boy it didnt disappoint. Our server Kelly was wonderful. She was funny, efficient and accommodating. We had this one dish that involved grilled peach cheeks. I asked her to write down the description so I could post it on my social media accounts. This dish was that good, a taste sensation in my mouth. Kelly was really busy but she took the time to do this for me.
I love desserts and the "Dark Chocolate Budino" was sublime. The view of course is like no other...breath taking. I would definitely recommend the Old Vines restaurant. I have a bit of a warning, be prepared to pay top dollar for the culinary experience. It is so worth it!

A favorite spot for us. Become a member and enjoy Library wines when you are there to see how the wines mature from the Wines being sipped in the wine shop of the current releases. We enjoyed the 2010 Stewart Chardonnay, absolutely joy in a glass! The food was excellent, the Halibut was cooked perfectly.

Service and attention to detail by the staff have not been affected by Covid.

The winery is beautiful and if you get to sit out on the patio it is very scenic and enjoyable. Indoors in the afternoon seemed a bit dark and gloomy so when they switched our table to outside we were very appreciative. The appetizers were great. My husbands chicken had some big veins in it and when he cut into it some blood came out, when we told our server to make sure it was cooked all the way through she actually never came came back. We waited a long time then he just didn’t eat that part and ate around the rest. I would have loved to order dessert but literally no one came back and my husband had to go inside the restaurant to find our server so we could pay our bill. Unfortunate because it is a very beautiful place.
