Great food, service
The food was absolutely outstanding. The server was just as good, very attentive to our needs and explained the menu quite well! Overall just a great experience!
Our experience was amazing. Their food is very tasty and of great quality. You can tell they really have great quality products. Our servers Jim and Adriano were also amazing and helped us having a great experience. Thank you for your hospitality!
I had the fried egg and bacon sandwich. Fantastic
Amazing food, great service. We had oysters and let our server bring what she thought were the best dishes and we had the squid, then gnocchi, and the beef Wellington. Everything was excellent. Thanks Amelia!
The food was incredible and our server made fantastic wine recommendations that paired very well with our food.
First off we thought we were eating at the bistro, did not know there were two dining areas. The menu didn’t have a lot of choices. My burger was good but my girlfriends pasta meal was skimpy, not a lot for the price. One last thing, we don’t drink so water was our choice but the bottle never got filled.
Staff and food were amazing! Excellent choices from the Jim
Took my wife for Valentine's day and from being greeted until we were leaving everything was "fabulous". From our Server to the Manager(who helped out several times)and a Wine Stewart, everyone and everything was excellent. The decor is very nicely done and lends itself to casual dining or a more formal dress if you prefer. It was our first visit but definitely wont be our last. Thank You 10 Acres for a very nice evening.
We had gone for the Dine Around menu. We were told it was only available if the whole table participated.
Can’t understand why. If we had been two separate couples walking in, two would have had the dine around menu and two would not have, yet that would have been fine?
Other restaurants we have gone to did not have this restriction. The hostess said they would try to accommodate us, but then it was just left at that, with no further attempt to accommodate us. Our server was very friendly, informative.
Enjoyed our meal, felt that the $10 extra charge for the dine around steak was not warranted. Food was good apart from that dish. Service was great very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome and taken care of. Thank you
First the negative: We went during Dine Around and the flavours of the meat dishes were non existent. It seemed that the pork and lamb had been prepared earlier sous-vide and had no real complexity - we could barely tell what meat we were eating. This was likely due to volume for the event, which was great value.
The starters and pasta courses were excellent as was the service. The restaurant is generally not our vibe (very big and loud) but I would likely go back for more pasta!
Amazing service. Great food. Good atmosphere, waiter was amazing.
Excellent value for your money with Dine around town menu!
Great place to eat in Victoria. Food was excellent, Dine Around menu, excellent service. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality.
Enjoyed the Dine Around Menu. First course was amazing. Meat was cooked to perfection but side dishes were lacking. Dessert was okay. Great wine and good service.
The food was ok, but not for the price. Even with the Dine Around deal it ended up to be over $100 for two people (no drinks there, and no extras, except for two coffees). My salad was so-so, same with the tuna dip & chips appetizer my husband had (I thought it pretty good, but he found it tepid). The main meals had delicious fish & meat mains, but the sides again weren't really much to write home about. I didn't care much for the ricotta pie that came with my fish, so I traded with my husband and had the mashed potatoes and veggies that came with his pork. They were good.
The service was good, but over the top - we had two waitresses for some reason; they kept checking in. One of them was very friendly, though, the other not so much. The dessert was very good (we both chose creme brulee), but the coffee was mediocre at best.
When I pay that much I expect a more memorable meal; if I want a meal that's ok but nothing to write home about I'll go somewhere for half the price. Atmosphere was nice and it wasn't too noisy. The booths are set up in a way that you have to sit forward and lean forward to be close to your food and able to talk to your dining companion. Can't sit back, really. I wouldn't say it's a bad place at all, just not that great, either.
Superior food. Humbolt squid was “cut with a fork” tender. Sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable. The “team” approach to service was very refreshing. We will be back....with friends.
Had a very enjoyable time. Wait staff were helpful (Amelia) and very attentive.
Interesting menu choices served in tasty combination. A meal to remember.
Tasting menu plus wine pairing; only downside is the tasting menu is only available if the whole party opt for it. Delicious food, great flavour combinations but definitely one of the pricier places to dine.
We had our staff dinner here and the food was amazing and prepared as requested. Our server was humorous which added to our evening.
Although limited selection, food and wine were great!
Nice ambience, very convenient location and ok service. (We waited 20 minutes between appetizers and Entrees).
We met another couple at 10 Acres Kitchen for dinner and the ambience and service was excellent. The food was delicious. However, be aware that the entree portion sizes are modest at best, so you need to order a appy, salad and main if you want to leave full. My husband and I split a salad and then each had a main, which is normally more than enough to leave us satisfied.
I ordered the carbonara and the first thing I noticed when it was set down in front of me was how small the portion was (think med sized orange) and I'm not a big eater. Some garlic bread might have helped. It was delicious, but for $26, I expect to be full when I'm finished. My husband felt the same about his dinner: really good but skimpy.
To be clear, this is a quality restaurant and foodies will love it. We will go again if invited, but not on our own. It's simply not worth it for us to drop $120 (before tax, tip and no booze) to have a meal when there are so many other places to choose from in town.
One of the best meals had in years. Highly recommended!
Top notch service with a smile! Great for date night or anniversary celebration.
I was really disappointed in the food and it’s presentation. I went there thinking you would b really good at serving vegetables. The squash appetizer was a tasteless goo. I love squash and this was almost inedible. The squid was just fair. My friend’s Caesar salad was very, very salty and her yellow beets were tasteless. Beets are usually very flavourful. The server was lacklustre.......all this in a restaurant that’s quite pricy. 10 Acres gives the impression of ultra good ingredients which to me means tasty.
Limited menu.Terrible batter on oysters. One should ask for the sauce on the lamb chops to be put to the side.Very little to recommend this place. The staff were nice.
Adriano, Amelia, and the rest of the staff made our evening a special one!
Took awhile for our order to be taken, even for drinks. After that everything was great!!
The food was fantastic and used local ingredients. The service was wonderful and fast. A little expensive but we would highly recommend this restaurant as it is well worth the extra.
Possibly the best meal in any restaurant that I've had in Victoria in the 35 years I've been here. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Excellent and personable staff. Had the ceasar salad and salmon plate.
An amazing meal, one of our top 10, and superior wine selection.
Good service and food in a casual atmosphere . I would definitely go back to this place when I am back in Victoria. Location is also very good.
We had two appetizers and three meals. Everything was delicious. The staff was attentive and personable. The only confusing part is that there are multiple 10 Acres restaurants in the same block, and we initially went to the wrong location.
Tasting menu was perfect and wine list offered us selection of a few favourite bottles that we skipped the wine pairings and were absolutely satisfied. A lovely choice for a special occasion.
Convenient location in downtown Victoria- if you can find it..don’t look for a sign on the street because there isn’t one. The restaurant sign on the street says commons. In fact 10 acre kitchen is inside that building at the back and not well marked even once you get in there. The food is good, the wines overpriced. We had a much better meal the following evening at Nautical Nellies which is close by.
Good food and service but dated ambiance / decor. Good place to take older relatives that would appreciate good service and a quiet atmosphere.
Rich, meat based menu. Small portions. If you want vegetarian options, this is not a good choice.
