We had a reservation here on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. Drink and food menus were dropped off when we were seated and within half a minute, the waiter was wanting to know what we wanted to drink. We hadn’t even had time to look at the drink menu so we asked for a couple minutes. After ordering our drinks, they were brought to our table by the wine steward (or sommelier? We don’t know he never said) and when he dropped them off he wanted to know what kind of wine we would like with dinner. We told him we hadn’t even decided yet what we were going to order. After a few minutes we decided on an appetizer and ordered our entree’s at the same time as the appetizer. We ordered the Toast appetizer, which was excellent and more than enough to share. When we had barely started to eat our appetizer, a young lady dropped off our entree’s and when we said we weren’t even finished our appetizer, she replied “I always say, the more food the better!” So, our main sat for a few more minutes until our waiter noticed and brought two covers to try to keep them warm. After another few minutes he came back and offered to take them back to the kitchen to keep warm. Needless to say, we were disappointed when he returned after a bit with the same entree’s that had been sitting for a long time. The manager came by after we had our first bite and asked if it was good. We indicated that it was fine (our mistake). We sadly didn’t insist on a new order and my spouses porkchop was lukewarm. My trout faired better and was still warm and tasty. The manager never came around after that even though she must have known of this issue and in fact it felt like she was purposefully avoiding our table. We felt rushed through the entire meal and what should have a been a relaxing evening felt like we were trying to be rushed through our dinner as fast as possible. Our waiter was polite and friendly and the food was good, but really left us with a bad impression.

Overall this restaurant was good. Their homemade pasta was tasty but salty, cooked al dente but the texture was tough to chew. The martini was a skimpy pour or they should serve it in a smaller glass instead of a larger one. The presentation made the drink look like it was someone else’s drink left overs.

We were in Victoria visiting family. We came in one day early so my husband and I could have dinner on our own. We are so happy we picked 10 Acres Kitchen. We had the most amazing meal and service. Food was fresh and so flavourful. The sommelier recommended the best wine pairings for our meal.

My husband and I were BLOWN AWAY by this restaurant. We are Seattle foodies and have visited Victoria several times over the years, and this is the finest meal I've ever there. We had three starters: the beets, the brussels sprouts, and the beef tartare. With that many starters, we ordered 1 main, the pork chop, and it was plenty of food. The beef tartare was a spectacular stand-out. It had a slight kick. You could eat it straight from the marrow bone it's served in, or pile it on one of the fresh purple potato chips and add a pickled asparagus and spread of the magical, white cream/fat spread (what was it?? I don't know; I should have kept a copy of the menu to check) for a perfectly balanced delectable nibble. The beets were bright and fresh and the brussels sprouts (with lardon) were the pinnacle of fine comfort food. The pork chop was moist and tender, with crispy bits near the bone. Probably the best pork chop I've ever had. They also have a great wine list and we tried amber and orange wines for the first time, which was super fun. The service was also great and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. I will definitely go again next time I'm in Victoria.

Overall good experience. I had pork chop, wife had burger. Excellent service & great ambiance. Menu states ground beef for burger is ground to order per burger. When burger arrived, it tasted freezer burnt. Quite possibly;y due to the meat is frozen ahead of time to aid in grinding prior to cooking. Would recommend restaurant not keep pre-chopped beef in freezer too long.

This is a farm to table restaurant, apparently much of it from their own farm. We had 3 of the share plates, and enjoyed them all. The plate of pan fried oysters came with a slaw that balanced the sweetness of the oysters. The oysters were smallish (my preference) and perfectly crisp on the outside. The beet salad (what restaurant in 2019 does not have a beet salad?) was very good, although the feta cheese was a bit sparse. We finished with the dungeoness/shrimp toast, an unusual presentation for crab and shrimp, but tasty. The crab and shrimp were on the toast in some sort of creamy spread which may have been a variation on avocados. It was delicious, but super rich. Better to share this, than try to eat it yourself. Finally we shared a slice of carrot cake... a elegant finish to a great meal.

Good service but the food was very hit and miss. Excellent beef tartare, and the other 4 dishes we ordered ranged from pretty good to uninspiring. Might give it it a second chance one day, but not in a rush to go back.

First off we thought we were eating at the bistro, did not know there were two dining areas. The menu didn’t have a lot of choices. My burger was good but my girlfriends pasta meal was skimpy, not a lot for the price. One last thing, we don’t drink so water was our choice but the bottle never got filled.

Took my wife for Valentine's day and from being greeted until we were leaving everything was "fabulous". From our Server to the Manager(who helped out several times)and a Wine Stewart, everyone and everything was excellent. The decor is very nicely done and lends itself to casual dining or a more formal dress if you prefer. It was our first visit but definitely wont be our last. Thank You 10 Acres for a very nice evening.

We had gone for the Dine Around menu. We were told it was only available if the whole table participated. Can’t understand why. If we had been two separate couples walking in, two would have had the dine around menu and two would not have, yet that would have been fine? Other restaurants we have gone to did not have this restriction. The hostess said they would try to accommodate us, but then it was just left at that, with no further attempt to accommodate us. Our server was very friendly, informative.

First the negative: We went during Dine Around and the flavours of the meat dishes were non existent. It seemed that the pork and lamb had been prepared earlier sous-vide and had no real complexity - we could barely tell what meat we were eating. This was likely due to volume for the event, which was great value. The starters and pasta courses were excellent as was the service. The restaurant is generally not our vibe (very big and loud) but I would likely go back for more pasta!

The food was ok, but not for the price. Even with the Dine Around deal it ended up to be over $100 for two people (no drinks there, and no extras, except for two coffees). My salad was so-so, same with the tuna dip & chips appetizer my husband had (I thought it pretty good, but he found it tepid). The main meals had delicious fish & meat mains, but the sides again weren't really much to write home about. I didn't care much for the ricotta pie that came with my fish, so I traded with my husband and had the mashed potatoes and veggies that came with his pork. They were good. The service was good, but over the top - we had two waitresses for some reason; they kept checking in. One of them was very friendly, though, the other not so much. The dessert was very good (we both chose creme brulee), but the coffee was mediocre at best. When I pay that much I expect a more memorable meal; if I want a meal that's ok but nothing to write home about I'll go somewhere for half the price. Atmosphere was nice and it wasn't too noisy. The booths are set up in a way that you have to sit forward and lean forward to be close to your food and able to talk to your dining companion. Can't sit back, really. I wouldn't say it's a bad place at all, just not that great, either.

We met another couple at 10 Acres Kitchen for dinner and the ambience and service was excellent. The food was delicious. However, be aware that the entree portion sizes are modest at best, so you need to order a appy, salad and main if you want to leave full. My husband and I split a salad and then each had a main, which is normally more than enough to leave us satisfied. I ordered the carbonara and the first thing I noticed when it was set down in front of me was how small the portion was (think med sized orange) and I'm not a big eater. Some garlic bread might have helped. It was delicious, but for $26, I expect to be full when I'm finished. My husband felt the same about his dinner: really good but skimpy. To be clear, this is a quality restaurant and foodies will love it. We will go again if invited, but not on our own. It's simply not worth it for us to drop $120 (before tax, tip and no booze) to have a meal when there are so many other places to choose from in town.
