Everything was amazing! My boyfriend and I came her for date night on a Sunday evening.
By far one of the best steaks I have ever put in my mouth! Lobster tempura was to die for. Be sure to leave room for the scrumptious chocolate cake! Our server was on her A game. BRAVO to this fine establishment. I look forward to going back next time.
We celebrated our engagement and it was the best dining experience we’ve ever had.
Steak as excellent and my wife enjoyed salmon. Our waiter, Rob was great and some great suggestions on the wines for the night. Enjoyable place with good character and charm. We will definitely return.
WOW - What a surprise. We have passed by 101 Steak since it opened but were too afraid to go in because of fear that the last restaurant in that location had infected the space permanently. But, to our delight, the interior has been updated to a very nice, casual, but sheik environment. The food was great - it may have been the best NY strip ever. I would stack 101 Steak up against any of the other high-end steakhouses in Atlanta. It deserves a spot in that conversation without question. We took the kiddos as well and while it may be best to leave them with a babysitter if you can, it worked very well for them too.
It is obvious that this restaurant it is attempting to make its name as synonymous with high-end steakhouses as would be a Bones or a Chops. But after having spent a recent evening here, it is evident that some major tweaking is in order if 101 Steak is going to leave any sort of lasting footprint in this regard.
For starters, the seating arrangements are not conducive to a comfortable meal in an intimate setting. You're grouped in too close to other diners. And the chairs (most of the tables are half booths, with one chair and one booth seat) are not built for those of us who sport a larger frame. I joked with my wife at one point that I had to go to the bathroom and I was worried the chair would have to go with me.
Now to the food. Let’s start with the good. The lobster bisque my wife had was exquisite – one of the best lob bisques I’ve ever tasted. But I’m afraid the stellar review must end there, as the rest of the meal was underwhelming at best. My French onion soup had a decent base, but the bread was literally burned. It wasn’t simply overcooked; it was totally black on the top. So it was dutifully sent back to the kitchen and taken off our ticket with our server’s apologies. Next, as others have noted, some of the dishes (most notably the béarnaise sauce and garlic aioli fries) were too salty. And, I’m sad to say, so was the item that should have been the culinary highlight of my year thus far – the 24 oz. prime cut bone in ribeye (dry-aged for 36 days). You know the one I’m talking about - the $72 beast that is showcased in the dead center of the menu. I was so disappointed that I decided to drown my sorrows in the béarnaise sauce, which I then discovered was just the proverbial gasoline on the fire.
If you’re going to price things in the same range as Bones or Chops, you need to be able to deliver similar quality. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case with our experience at 101 Steak.
Good experience for the most part, service wasn’t the best.
If I had to sum up our experience in one word, it would be AMAZING! We have been to 101 Steak several times and every experience there has been wonderful. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day on this particular visit. Not only is the food beyond fabulous, the service is off the charts. Everyone is very attentive, but not intrusive. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. We will definitely be returning!
We had a wonderful time! Thank you @chefjoey
Had a lovely time. Crispy shrimp and calamari appetizer was delicious. Asparagus side was generously portioned. Petite filets cooked exactly as requested. Service from Matthew was attentive and timely. Excellent Valentine’s Day dinner.
