We rarely get out for date night between work schedule, kids schedules and just craziness of life - but we were able to escape to 12welve Bistro & Tapwerks for a night and everyone was truly amazing and the drinks and food were delicious… although we may have ate way too much!! Thanks for a great night out!

Unique spot downtown Whitby! The food selection is great, plenty of more unique options but some standard and equally delicious fare for the less adventurous. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Its pretty noisy on the main floor inside as its a smaller space but very cool ambience with views of the brewery

Our dinner was delicious. We had the Butter Chicken Nachos and the Signature Bistro Fingers, both were large servings and tasted great. Our server Ian was friendly and efficient, helping to suggest an item when we asked. I had the Pauloma cocktail and my husband a blonde Brock street beer. My drink was both sweet and tart, very good, our server had suggested it when I indicated my preferences. It was very busy, on a Wednesday night, I would highly recommend booking a time slot.

Everything was tasty. Server could have been a bit more engaging/friendly. Manager asked us if were celebrating anything - which were were - our wedding anniversary. It would have been nice to offer us even a little mini dessert or something on the house.

The Mac and cheese was spectacular. Chicken fingers and fries arrived cold and the portion is much smaller than my previous visits. Waitress was good. Great ambiance

We spontaneously decided to go out for dinner and picked this restaurant not knowing anything about it. Had a wonderful evening- the food was amazing! There were so many options to choose from we will definitely go back and work our way through the menu.

This was our first experience at 12welve and we were very pleasantly surprised!!! Great service with helpful suggestions for drinks and meal selections. Food and drinks were served promptly (we appreciate since we have small children). The energy was great. We will definitely be back!!

The waiter whom he had was very less responsive, didn’t get any description of the items. We don’t eat pork, but ended up ordering something which had pork. This is 3rd time going in, hoping this would be our last visit

Had a reservation for indoor, was told the only way to sit immediately would be to go outdoor which is right beside a major intersection. Outdoor patio is plastic picnic tables, server was not engaged with us at all but as soon as we decided we were done she was very quick to bring the bill.

I've visited this place every couple months for years now, and it's noticeable the dive in food and cook quality. The cauliflower bites were best described as "pretty oily" and they used to be a favourite dish of ours. I asked for my chicken fingers tossed in sauce, and they clearly just applied a minimal amount with a brush after, with the bottom of each one missing sauce entirely. The fries were bottom of the bag, mostly small ends that were so overcooked they were closer to eating potato chips, not fries.

Food was fantastic, waited well over 15 min after the hostess sat us on the patio, before I had to go inside to get a waitress for ourselves and the two other tables (were there before us). Waitress was friendly but overall service was very poor. Hopefully it was a one off because the food was great.

When we have our group of friends together, we always choose 12welve because the food, service, and drinks never disappoint. Unfortunately, this time we had a quite different experience. We normally have the male server (who is clearly the most experienced) and he is always fantastic. This time, we had a young girl who didn't seem to know what she was doing. For our table of 10 to all get a drink it took about 45 minutes. She kept bringing over one drink, then walking back to the bar, then bringing another two, etc. My friend ordered the fish without sauce, but it came with it and she told the server she couldn't eat it. The server then left it on the table for the duration of the meal. When she finally cleared the plate, my friends husband said he'd take it home (since it was clearly going to get wasted) and at the end of the meal they were charged for that plate. For many of us who have worked in the service industry, that was a no brainer. If the customer can't eat the food and it was your mistake, you never charge them for it. They ended up taking the meal off the bill which was nice to see. Our server was nice, but clearly had no idea what she was doing with 5 couples. Next time, we will absolutely be requesting the experienced, male server (who was working that night just not on our table. He helped bring our meals out).

Food and drinks were great. We had a reservation for 7:00pm, but were not sat at our table until 7:25pm. It was pretty frustrating dealing with the hostesses because they didn't seem to understand the concept of a reservation. The expectation is if you make a reservation your table should be ready at the time it was reserved for. I understand in extreme circumstances and if we were a large group (we were only 3 people) having to wait 5-15 minutes, but nearly a half hour is a bit extreme. The hostess that sat us was very apologetic, but it was definitely something a manager should have addressed. The outdoor seating was plastic Fisher Price looking picnic tables which was kind of surprising considering the restaurant seemed a bit more upscale. My advice if you would like to try this place is to maybe go on a week night when it is less busy and to sit inside and if you make a reso be prepared to wait anyway.

Anissa is a wonderful and friendly, attentive server. The food was amazing and a great portion! The menu has such a great variety. The selection of beer is impressive and the prices aren’t too high like other breweries. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend 12welve.

The food was exceptional! The choices were good and the presentation was wonderful. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, however we arrived at 7 pm and it was very noisy. I will definitely be going back but at off peak times.

We came in with 5 people but were seated at the small 2 seater tables paired up. The servers picked up quickly with my unhappiness there. The 5th person would have no room once the food arrived. They brought over a 3rd table. Then was all good in the world. Thank you. Everything was excellent, the food, the service.

The food was delicious and generous portions. I had the Jerk Chick-wich and it was the perfect combination of heat and savoury. It is a limited time menu item so get it while you can. Hubby had the brisket mac and cheese and it was so tasty. Couldn't believe we had leftovers as it was so good but filling.

I was disappointed that when we arrived there were several open tables and even after having reserved a table we were sat right next to the washroom/entrance to the kitchen. My wife tried to make it seem like it was t a big deal but we kept hearing the staff swearing at eachother and one seemed to think yelling from the staff door to her table past us to see how their first bites were. Made things super awkward. The nachos were a great Appetizer but the steak fritt and the jerk chicken and shrimp were good, just over priced for what they were. Our waitress was very kind and tried but I found it strange that we had just had our food dropped off and she came behind the young man delivering the food and then asked how our first bites were. While we were explaining that we had not had the chance yet she left mid sentence and didn't come.back to see us until the end of our meals. Food was OK, ambiance was sub par, staff were overlooking us, it was so loud we had to yell at one an other. All in all it wasn't worth the 150$ I had sent. Suggestion for the menu would be to incorporate more options of food made with beer. Like it's a brewery and it seemed more like a Caribbean/Indian infused restaurant.
