    Food was excellent, but we made a reservation for standard seating and were told there was no standard seating available when we arrived. As such, we were placed in the lounge section where there was a group of six women screeching as loud as they could all night and were clearly over served alcohol, especially in the context of a restaurant.

    We love 147! It’s our go to for date night The food is always delicious, hot and fresh. The rice balls are to die for! The best in Barrie hands down.

    It was very noisy from the music coming from the bar below. And each table seemed loud. We were kinda in the middle of two tables so we got it from both sides. Mark our waiter was fabulous. He was attentive and always making sure everything was going well. A keeper for sure. We should have told him about our meal but we didn't want to be picky. For dinner we got the seafood in linguine which was good but the sauce was suppose to be an Alfredo sauce and it was a buttery sauce. It was good but not as good as Alfredo sauce. That's our only complaint. We should have told Mark.

    When we arrived, were VERY disappointed to be told there was no room in the dining room area. We had made a reservation through Open Table weeks ago. Were seated at a high top which wobbled. Had to move. As we had brought guests with us and it was their first experience, the fact that there were eyes rolling from the start wasn't helpful. And it was cold with fans going full blast behind us and cool breeze off the street, a guest had to go back to the car to get more clothing. All in all, the food lovely, Mikela (server) terrific. Thanks for asking.

    food was awesome! Jon was our server and he was phenomenal. As the restaurant got busier, it got noisier and noisier, and was very hard to carry on a conversation. The noise volume was the only downfall to this fantastic location.

    Pizza was awful. Cold and dry. Pizza shouldn’t be crispy. It was like eating burnt toast. I have been before and had the pizza and it was good. Not sure what happened this time. Won’t be back.

    It’s a good restaurant, service was great. I had their “special”, lobster & pasta with a white wine sauce. Very tasty but the pieces of lobster were so tiny and not enough lobster in that dish. A little disappointing this visit was but have been many times and had great meals there.

    Absolutely delicious food, amazing quality and presentation as well. Sam was our server and was great!! Prices are beyond reasonable and portions are generous. Can't wait to go back.

    We traveled 3000 miles to eat at 147. We make a specific point of going to 147 every time we are visiting friends and relatives in Canada. The food and service at 147 is stupendously outstanding!!

    This was our first visit this summer and we were not disappointed. The food and service were outstanding. Because this was Wednesday, bottles of wine under $75 were half price. A nice touch!

    Overall we had a cute but confusing experience. The server Sam was great however I wish she had told us about the daily specials because I would’ve preferred one of those over what I had ordered. Everyone was okay with their meal however mine was not what I wanted and after expressing this to her she said oh I’m sorry to hear and walked away not asking if I would potentially be interested in something else (which I was) or taking it from the table. Instead it got packed up into a takeout box that won’t be eaten and paid for on our bill. Other then this the food is a little bland for Italian but the design is cute, lots of options on the menu and everyone seems very hard working. Would give a 7/10.

    Always a treat to visit 147 Dunlop in Barrie. The food is amazing, great views of the lake, wonderful service and good clientele. They don’t serve crayons with supper, so no kids ruining a nice evening out.

    My friend and I are trying all of Barrie's Italian restaurants and was looking forward to trying 147. I ordered the Orecchiette Barese and was so disappointed by HOW garlicky it was. I was literally eating raw garlic. There was also very little crumbled sausage or rapini. Not a well balanced dish at all. Disappointing to say the least.

    Our first time at 147 but won’t be our last. Delicious food from a varied menu accompanied by a nice bottle of red. We had tender grilled calamari to start followed by linguine with seafood, orecchiette with sausage and rapini and a special for the night of swordfish with shrimp. Portions we very generous for this type of restaurant. Tony our waiter was very efficient and helpful with a good sense of humour. Total for three of us including a large glass of rose was under $200 (plus tip). There were lots of other less expensive dishes on the menu.

    Reservations 2 weeks in advance,our Anniversary (58th),asked for a window seat. They couldn’t accommodate us. They also called and asked to move our time reserved. They did give us 2 free drinks compensation. Won’t be hurrying back.
