Would not recommend this restaurant. First off we ordered drinks and the beer and coke were both extremely flat. We paid £5 for a ‘poppadom basket’ which I am 99% sure came out of a Marks and Spencer’s packet as I have had them many times, they were small crisp like poppadoms rather than round ones. As for the mains, they tasted exactly like they had come out of a jar and the hottest curry didn’t have a kick. One member of the party asked for his curry to be made hot when he ordered which certainly did not happen. We also ordered the garlic and chilli naan which did not have any chilli on at all and was just garlic bread. Lastly, when booking the table it came up with 25% off food which wasn’t added to the bill until we mentioned it.

Ate early so very quiet. Food not cheep but very nice indeed. They got the bill all wrong but new system and all got sorted out ok. Lovely place . Will be a great place for a summer evening

We were seated on a table where we could only see the menu using the lights on our mobile phones. The menu is very limited - there was only one thing 2 of us could eat. It was very expensive for what was on offer and terrible value for money. The cheapest bottle of wine was £23. We were served by 4 different people and the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing/had done!! One of the puddings was forgotten so came after the rest of us had finished. All in all, very poor and would definitely not return.

Should have researched the menu before booking - the place , restaurant , bar , service and ambience were as expected - good . However the menu is very limited - especially with 2 dishes not being available - it's okay if you just want burgers and fish & chips - not really my idea of a Saturday night out !! I will not be returning .

We wanted to try this as we live local and used to be a fan of the Bistro before Ponsbourne shut down. We weren't disappointed. Mum had fish & chips and I opted for the steak baguette.Both meals were lovely and the service was fantastic without being over intrusive (I didn't catch the name of the waitor). The decor was very different to the Bistro which were used to, including the glass floor with the bottles underneath also the pods outside look fantastic. My only gripe was that there were a limited choice of Mocktails which were not particularly cheap. I look forwarded to going again.

Really beautiful setting service was sketchy but our waiter was great and very friendly The menu confused me it was very erratic and not sure who it’s trying to cater for. Drinks menu fab though Stopped serving food at 9pm which is strange seeing that it was a Friday night Would go back in the hope the chef does something with the menu

I would love to have said yes, I’ll recommend, but perhaps when a few of the kinks are ironed out, it has only been opened 3 weeks after all. We were really disappointed in the overall experience and venue. Although the hotel is beautiful and the location and view outside is amazing, it fell short of what were expecting based on the website photos. The inside felt quite cold (I think a part of this was to do with how the tables were set up) and outside of the outdoor dining pods the patio furniture seemed like an afterthought. The girl who greeted us inside was lovely, although I didn’t get her name. A few things to mention are , the shopping trolly outside by the patio along with green plastic strapping took away from the lovely view. I had two pimms the first really good, the second not. My husband ordered a G&T with Monkey 47 gin and Mediterranean tonic, both on the menu but they didn’t have either one, the glass table tops looked dirty, they’d been wiped down but given they are glass, they needed a bit of glass cleaner. I ordered the roast chicken which was good, however the lamb and the service were not great. We potentially will give it another try in a few months to see if things have improved as it has so much potential to be a great place for a nice dinner! Good luck!

I had read positive reviews from other diners before booking, I must say I wasn’t disappointed. The food and ambience made for a very enjoyable evening. The staff worked as a team to ensure all your needs were met. Dining pods outside - how exciting. Must try one of those next time. Thank you 1876.
