   Food wasn't what we expected, the restaurant is advertised with photos of professionally cooked, restaurant quality food. We waited 45 minutes for the duck dish and when it came were disappointed because it was obviously frozen or microwaved food with overcooked sides from a packet. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant either. We ate here for ease as it looked nice on the website but never ate here again, or had breakfast. Would recommend guests go into town to any of the other lovely restaurants and eateries on offer, even for breakfast

   Beautiful room setting. Table by the window a little dark. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. Staff very friendly. Overall service very slow. Lack of staff but this shouldn’t take away from staff who were there. Large table of 10 arrived on spec which commanded more attention than could be handled. We thankfully didn’t have starters as only getting a main still meant we sat for 75 minutes before food arrived. Beef cheek and salmon bath absolutely delicious. I’d say ‘worth waiting for’ but not over an hour. Even though we’d already picked out what we’d have for dessert by this point it was 8:45pm (having sat at 6:45) we decided we didn’t want to risk it. We noticed other tables haggled not to have to pay for wine/drinks due to the lengthy delay but ultimately we got the food, we got the wine we just couldn’t in good review leave a tip so obviously settled our bill in full. At least another 2 staff needed on the night. We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks, whether everything was ok once food had arrived, the usual asks. We decided not to have dinner again at the restaurant during our stay, choosing restaurants in the city but the chef does deserve a pat on the back for the good. So tasty…just a lot slow.

   In today's rocketing prices in restaurant meals this restaurant represents exceptional value for money. Great service and food, comfortable seating and relaxing ambience - what more could you ask?

   We decided to go out for Christmas lunch two weeks before Christmas and managed to get a table here. For the most part it was lovely but it is about the food. The Christmas lunch had everything apart from roast potatoes! The turkey was lovely and moist and the other vegetables cooked perfectly, including roast parsnip. If you can roast a parsnip you can roast a potato no? The roast potatoes were replaced by 3 tiny, no exaggeration new potatoes with skin on. I will give credit where it is due though and give the staff on duty that day credit. They were helpful, polite and really nice people. They couldn’t do enough for our party and continually checked we were ok.

   First time here and will definitely eat here next time weare in Bath! Staff are very welcoming and attentive without constant hassling. Food is first class and choices are wide. Ambience is excellent, upstairs is quiet but with a brilliant playlist in the background whilst downstairs is more lively. Definitely recommended!

    We dined in the restaurant on saturday 15 October. Unfortunately there was a party in an adjacent room. The service we received was abysmal. The party clearly had priority. We had to wait 40 minutes to have our plates cleared and were told we would have to wait at least 15 minutes if we wanted a dessert. We didn't bother. The food was very average. We would not eat in the restaurant again.

    Hotel is a bit understaffed at the moment and not many people dining (at times we were the only guests in the dining room); food is probably suffering from these two factors. A lot of it felt microwaved and rushed. Would skip it for something in town next time.

    Helpful service in the bar pre-dinner but very slow service in the dining room. It took over 30 mins for basic bread and butter to arrive and over an hour for our main course and we had to chase for both. Food was OK but the pasta dish was lukewarm. We ate here because of the convenience as we were hotel guests but wished we had gone into town.

    Remember to change the dead flowers off the table. Not a good start. But food was fine for what it was. Fair.

    Lovely dining room, good news ends there. The crab tart had a chunk of bone in, the chicken liver parfait was closer to being soup piped on to the plate with a slice of toast you get with your breakfast ( these were both not charged to us to be fair). Mains ok apart from being a bit salty. Didn’t want to risk the dessert even though it was going to be complementary. Prosecco was warm. It was my wife’s birthday as well which went completely under the radar. Overall I wouldn’t eat there again and decided against breakfast in the morning as well. Sorry it’s a bad review but it is what it is.

    Excellent service and really well prepared food. A great place to eat especially if you stay at the hotel. Fish dishes are really good as was the beef cheeks. Recommend them. Good selection of wines available.

    The food was excellent; but with a limited choice (especially starters) and the wine list was mediocre. But, there were very few diners, so I do understand that the choice of food has to be small. However, it the restaurant has aspirations, the wine list must be MUCH more extensive. We had to ask if the lamb was British - I suggest that the source of meat is included on the menu. In our party of 7 we tasted most of the menu and the overall consensus was that the food was cooked very well and the portions were generous.
