   Perhaps the restaurant was just having a bad night, but we had a very disappointing experience. The food was pretty good, but the service was really bad. And the restaurant wasn’t crowded. So no real excuse for such poor service.

   Fabulous food. If you like scallops you will love their chef’s version. Slightly sweet with a very slight hint of fennel. Red snapper and lamb shank were equally delicious. Our waiter, Mason was wonderful as well.

   We were seated in a part of the restaurant that was not in the same room as the bar which was nice because the noise level was much lower and I could easily carry on a conversation with the wife with no problem. The waiter was fabulous (the wife's words). He answered all of our questions and made valuable recommendations since my wife was gluten free. The food was very good. I was eyeing the 20 layer chocolate cake for desert but I asked our waiter about several of the deserts. I told him that I had had the cheesecake last time and wanted to try something different. He said that the cheese cake was his favorite but if you were in the mood for chocolate, the cake wasn't bad. He was right. It wasn't bad but I do regret not getting the cheesecake. The cheesecake made with goat's milk was the best I had ever had. We will be back.

   Every small town deserves one or two restaurants that are above ordinary, bordering on extraordinary. This is one in Mt. Dora! It was a lively evening celebrating friends & a 50th anniversary! The food, wine, presentation & service was exceptional.

   It was Mother's Day, so the restaurant was packed. Despite this, our dining experience was outstanding. Our meals included the Grilled Mahi w/ Risotto and Shrimp, the Chicken Confit (2x) and the Mount Dora Grand Slam. Each was expertly prepared, and more than satisfactory for the Foodies in our party. Our server was friendly and very professiona. I highly recommend 1921.

    Delicious eclectic food. Very good and professional service. Beautiful restaurant. All the details has been taken care, distance between tables, silverware, dishes, tables, chairs. Very nice. Even though is a little bit overpriced I'll go back.

    Mother's day brunch wasn't very good. Only one breakfast menu item was available - the Grand Slam. We wanted the eggs in a different way and they refused to make that change (only scrambled eggs were offered). In general the salt level of the food was very high. But, the atmosphere, cleanliness of the restaurant was very good.

    I appreciate what they’re trying to do; they just didn’t pull it off very well. The menu is inventive and we love that it is locally sourced. The presentation was nice but the food itself was middle of the road….there really shouldn’t be grit in the scallops and the salad shouldn’t be soaked in the dressing. Liked the throwback Parker Rolls but they charged way too much for them. Nice glass of wine for a reasonable price. The rooms were nice with interesting paintings and wall decorations but it was fairly noisy where we were. Our server was reasonably polite and helpful but mostly he seemed bored. All in all, not bad but not as good as we had hoped.

    The food is too expensive for what you get. We always get hamburgers because it is the cheapest food on the menu. Your steaks are too expensive and will never get one again. We ordered one the last time when we were there and it as below a normal grade and paid a lot of money for it.

    We went to 1921 to celebrate Mother’s Day. We had a fantastic experience! Spencer took excellent care of us and the food was delicious. It’s not easy to please my Mother in Law and she loved everything! We will definitely come back soon.

    Great Service, Mason was awesome. I had the French Dip that was probably the best I ever had. My wife could not say enough about the Mahi and Grits. This will be a regular stop for lunch!

    The Menu served did not match the one posted online. It was scaled down. The Service was, indeed, excellent. This restaurant seems preoccupied with 'fancy names' for a Standard dish served beautifully but, available at several other fine dining establishments for much less. In the end ''Wrecked Fish" is fish, Buttery Scallops are scallops and Pork Loin is just that. A glass of beer at $9 and Pinot at a half glass to match, leaves you wonder if you're just paying for 'the Ambience & handsome Presentation? My party was/ is into actual Antiques so, the faux Modern atmosphere was pleasant but, did not distract from the noise level..... not as impressive as they must think. Mount Dora suffers for really great restaurants, such are found in other towns in Fla., such as, Jupiter & Boca Raton. So, it's hard to justify returning here, at a final tab over $200 for 3 w/ tip.

    Service was excellent and the food was delicious! Beat burger. Ever had was the Wagyu burger! The oysters were fresh and delicious, the pizza was crisp and tasty! The wife had lamb shank and she said it was the best she ever had. The bourbon flight was great ( maybe a bit pricey) but worth it we shared a crème brûlée and it was on point as was the espresso- overall an exceptional experience and would return everyday ! Well worth the trip and the restaurant is beautiful and artfully appointed! A must visit/must eat!

    We had a very enjoyable dinner at 1921 last night. The starters were a lovely variety of options. I tried the corn and blue crab soup. It was absolutely delicious. Smoot ad creamy with a lovely combination of flavors. The other starter we tried. Was the hush puppies. They were a wonderful treat. The entrees were simply wonderful. The scallops were cooked to perfection, the halibut was absolutely perfect as was the sauce that accompanied it. The lamb shank and the beef short ribs papparalle were sublime. The cocktail and wine list is very well thought out.With fun and interesting creations that were very cool. Dessert choices were lovely and very yummy. A perfect complement to the meal. The only problem we had was the noise level made it difficult to hear at the table. Otherwise it was a wonderful evening.

    Always enjoy the experience we get dining here at 1921. Our favorite waiter Mason always treats us like we are his only guests even when he has six or more tables under his care. He is a big part of why we like dining here. Had the veal shank fantastic the halibut was exceptional that my wife ate. Both recommended by Mason. Try the Black Dahlia.its fantastic!!

    Amazing service from Corey- awesome recommendations. Everything was great. We had the hush puppies and pizza for appetizers and lamb shank, chicken breast & the short rib pasta for entrees.     Artisan cheeses for entree, very tasty! Big slices of toasted sourdough bread! Two kinds of sauces paired well! I had the scallops, perfect! Also had the lamb shank, very rich in flavor! I made reservations on line which was super convenient.

    Love this restaurant. Service was fantastic. We sat in bar area. I really enjoyed the pecan popcorn, savory more sweet. I think drizzled with some kind of fat to make it tasty. The buffalo chicken dip was satisfactory. I have had much better. We enjoyed pate and the cheese board. Cocktails are great!

    We were offered a bar high top when we arrived and decided to sit there. Our server was outstanding. We ordered the special hush puppies as an appetizer and they were very filling and VERY delicious! The Italian red wine on happy hour was delicious as well. The Wagyu burger also was delicious. They knew it was my birthday (Open Table?) and we had a happy birthday menu and a complimentary pudding dessert. Loved the experience and will definitely dine here when back in town.
