Great ambience but the food quality was OK and overly priced. Lamb kebabs were not moist and tender and the lemon cheesecake was dry. I had heard good reviews and had better expectations.

The ambience and actual decor of the venue is stunning. The service was unfortunately less than what we were expecting as some of the items of food did not arrive with the others so as a result we had to request it again. Additionally I do believe that the items are generally overpriced for the portion size and quality. Overall good but not great

Great food Cool decor but unfortunately Poor service - waited 40mins for a glass of wine. Also staff rigid and wouldn’t assist my simple request. They haven’t been open long so hopefully will iron out

I've been to 1947 twice now. Each time has been wonderful! The food is great, the ambiance is super chill and the staff were friendly. We ate the asparagus, corn and coconut samosa along with both chicken and lamb biriyani. No matter what you order, I'm sure that you will enjoy wonderfully prepared food.

We had a lovely lunch in 1947 the food was amazing , full of flavour but not to hot. The cocktails were delicious and the décor was very pleasing. The staff were great, helpful with the menu and just very friendly, we will be going back.

A really nice welcome as we entered the restaurant and were taken downstairs into this basement venue. The warm welcome then continued with both the cloakroom supervisor, and then the maitre'd. The starters were a series of sharing tasters....our group of 5 chose individually - and were not disappointed by any of the selection. Subtle, aromatic and rich flavours abounded...a taste of things to come. Three of the diners chose biryanis, and were blown away by both presentation and flavour. Others chose seafood and meat dishes, and again, we hugely impressed with the flavours and textures. A great restaurant, offering quality dining and value prices.....what is not to like! I will be returning, without doubt!

Pleasant surprise and was well worth the visit! The food was fantastic-highly recommend the prawns for starters! For main, the sea bass is great for one but for sharing would certainly recommend the chicken dish. Service was great and the great thing about this place is the prices!!

Up market Indian. Decor and concept dolls the brief but other areas don't. The menu design is clearly more creative than normal Indian but food itself isn't exceptional. The service though was haphazard - maybe maître d having off night but whilst friendly he seemed a bit bewildered and needed helping out by waiters. The prices are considerably higher than standard Indian and the overall experience didn't quite get to the price level.

I visited on a Friday night with 2 friends - restaurant not that busy to start with but filled up nicely with time. Food was very very delicious - tasty, well flavoured and good portion sizes. Restaurant decor really lovely. Spacious but with a nice cosy feel. Lovely bathrooms 😊. Nice attention to detail from waiting staff - but not too overbearing. Good value for money - would definitely return.

Lovely decor and ambiance. Service was great and not too intrusive. Food was great for vegetarians. We tried most of the vegetarian options. Our favorite was the daal makhni and the paneer. Leave space for the yummy desserts!

Amazing ambience, I was celebrating my birthday and it is a perfect setup for that. I would recommend them to improve the service, slow at many occasions and there were a couple of mistakes as well. Friendly staff though.

Absolutely fantastic evening!! The food was outstanding, we are from Toronto, known for very good Indian food and this was better than anything I've had. Nice small plates, perfectly seasoned. Amazing flavor without too much heat. I would highly recommend to anyone! We can't wait to come back.

Brand new establishment. We had no idea how new it was. Food was out of this world, and decor and ambience was outstanding. Great service and care provided. Chef, management and staff were all caring, attentive and genuinely sought feedback which was refreshing and nice to see. Will be back!
