We will go back. The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had! And it was LARGE! Grilled octopus was amazing. Very good short ribs, drinks, and Cinnabon to share for dessert. Large portions, reasonable wine menu, and a DJ on Saturday night. Definitely worth going there

Food and service was great. Big portions, couldn’t finish our meal. For dessert we ordered the Cinnabon and the whole place smelled like cinnamon lol. We will definitely be back

Went here on a Monday so we were the only table hence why are service was outstanding! Our waitress was phenomenal! The owner said he's going to close on Monday's from now on because nobody really goes out, unless it's a bar to watch football. The drinks were good, had a cucumber martini. Everyone else had Titos and club or wine. We started off with the strawberry and beet salad, Philly dumplings, seared scallops and lobster empanadas. The empanadas were our favorite, although the dumplings came in a close second, they were just too small to share. For our mains my friend got linguini and clams in the red sauce and really enjoyed them! My other friend got the rigatoni in a brown sauce, it was strange but tasted good. We shared the cod, which was very oily, and the gnoochi with sausage...the sauce was tasty, but you could tell the pasta wasn't homemade. For dessert we liked the monkey bread with ice cream...it was more like a bread pudding consistency, which is my favorite. We also had the chocolate moose, which I don't particularly like, but my friends finished it all up! xoxo

The service was inexperienced. There were four of us. One person really enjoyed his pasta dish. One person was okay with the fish dish. The other two people were disappointed. One had a fish dish that was tasteless. Very fresh, clean decor. We were there during the week and the outside was open so there were very few people in the restaurant keeping the noise level at a wonderful level.

Good food. Sweet waitress but she messed up my order. She felt so bad and apologized many times, unfortunately the kitchen rushed .y order a little too much and the fish was not not cooked through. Despite all that, the food was good! Appetizer seared scallops were nice,and the gnocchi that came with the fish were very good.

Nice place, pricey, but big portions. No bread given. Had to special request bread, and they really didn’t want to give us bread. But we insisted, and then gave us some. Overall a good place. Just offer bread next time.

Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. Delicious high quality selection of wines and great service. We tried several appetizers, entrees, and desserts, everything was delicious. Highly recommended.

Excellent food! Appetizer selection was dynamic! I had the filet mignon, 14 oz of the best meat I ever had! My wife had the pan seared scallops, outstanding. The host and servers were friendly and funny! Highly recommend 286 South! We have a new favorite spot!

The place is very beautiful with a Club like atmosphere, you can tell they put alot of money into fixing it and making their customers pay for it now. We tried these appetizers and were pretty delicious; The Octopus, Charred Oysters, Fried Calamari, Littleneck Clams, & Lobster Empanadas (for the price they should serve minimum 3). The sides that were a hit; Roasted Artichokes (A Must!!), Smashed Potato, & Asparagus. The Entrees were split 50/50 some way too Salty & dry that could not be finished (but did not complain). The good ones were; The Sea Bass, Shortrib Rigatoni & Scallops. **Prices are STEEP (even for the SoShore) but if you have spare money, I would say go and check it out for yourselves. It is a very nice place with outside seating and a beautiful bar.

Get ready to enjoy dining that is a delight for all the senses. The ambiance is one that engages you before you enter with modernistic yet welcoming decor. Seating is comfortable and lends the opportunity to capture a view of visually appealing cocktails, appetizers, entres and deserts. We Truly ordered by pointing and asking the well versed wait staff. Choices were delivered promptly in order with a smile. Each course was euphoric to sight, sound and taste. A larger party will give opportunity to sample more of the delicious appetizers. I will have to accomplish this in several attempts that I will eagerly enjoy. To me 286 conjures a vision that melds the finest dining with the best family run restaurant, excelling in all aspect of pleasurable evening. Very welcomed addition to the South Shore dining scene. God knows we didn’t need another Italian restaurant. All the flavors were spot on. Scallops and octopus appetizers were great. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium. My only criticism is the Steak should definitely have a crust. And I will rethink my next visit it won’t be on a Saturday with the DJ. Staff were attentive and very pleasant. Will definitely be back and recommend

Food was good. Place is gorgeous. They nerd Martini Glasses, better olives, and don’t charge so much for a shot of Anisette/Sambuca for the espresso. Other than that food was good and I would go back

We were very excited to try a new place ,,What a disappointment as soon as we got to the bar no one served us Then we sat and were brought over ruffles potato chips i knew then there was a problem i ordered the pork chop no garnish or anything on the plate and it was VERY Salty. My wife ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti pasta was Rock hard Not Al dente at all!!! and Parm was Burnt .Dont waste you time or money going here
