   We do not go out nearly as much as we did before COVID but when we do for special occasions, happy hour, and a great meal it is always Lake Mary 347 Grille by Coach Shula. Shula's has always been an experience where the atmosphere is very good, the service is impeccable, and the food has been not only excellent but also a great value since the portions were generous. Our many, many experiences there, since the restaurant first opened in 2009, have always been Excellent, well until this latest one on the last Saturday in May 2023. While the atmosphere is still very good we noticed the service was just a bit off from usual excellent. This in itself would still rate this restaurant a must go to place if the food and value had stayed the same. But this is were they fell very short, the food portions have shrunk considerably, the price has increased over 30%, and overall deliver and quality/flavor of the food left us surprised and disappointed since Shula's has been our #1 establishment and we have always told everyone that if you want "Excellence" then Shula's is the place to go as we had never been disappointed there. Everyone would expect the price increase at this point in time due to the current inflation that has gripped the nation. But we would not expect anything else to change. So when we take into consideration the food portion shrinkage, the food presentation, and quality/flavor of the food it leave you thinking we could have gone to most any restaurant and received the same or better meal quality for less money. Paying a bit more for superior experience end to end has never an issue, so we are hoping Shula's returns to what made them our go to restaurant. We are not done with Shula's and will of course give them another chance at our business, since anyone can have a bad day in the kitchen. Here is to our next time that it will again live up to "Excellence".

   We really enjoyed our visit to Shula’s for dinner. My husband ordered the filet mignon steak and it was done to perfection. On our waiter’s recommendation, I ordered the chef’s special and was so glad I did! I received a beautiful fresh serving of almond crusted, wild caught halibut that was absolutely fabulous - it was one of the best prepared halibut dishes I’ve ever had. Hats off to the chef! I would definitely order it again. Our dining experience was enjoyable in all areas. Our waiter, Isaiah, greeted us with a great smile and we felt welcomed from the start. Great evening- we will be back!

   The service and the food was horrible and I went for Mother’s Day. The worst dinner ever. The calamari was soggy my crab cakes were burnt I took one bite and it had a piece of plastic in it.

   Our waiter was awesome! The food however was the worst it’s been, ever. Our reservation was for 5:45, we got there early and got seated. Apps were okay, but our actual meals took an hour to come out. I got my kids the 1/2 chicken and it was so dry that they could hardly chew and swallow. My husband got the cowboy ribeye and ordered medium rare - it came out well done. We told our waiter about the steak and they put in for another but it took another 30 mins to come out. The waiter was embarrassed clearly and I overheard the waiter telling the table behind us that the kitchen was backed up…the restaurant wasn’t even half full and everyone got their food late or something was wrong it seemed. We won’t be back, sad because the food used to be good. The waiter comped the steak but our bill was over $200 for crappy food… (we got two drinks each and they were also mediocre at best) I thought it would be special to dine in for Mother’s Day but it was a disappointment.

   The ambiance was pretty cool. We went yesterday for Mother’s Day because I’d made reservations over 2 weeks ago. It STILL took us over an hour to get our food. The manager advised that the kitchen was backed up. Understandable, but when we got our food, it wasn’t hot at all and was sub par. The drinks were pretty good, but I’m afraid I won’t be back. If I have to wait over an hour for food, I at least want it to be good AND hot! Unacceptable!

   Food service was slower than expected and the food was just warm, not hot. The best part of the meal was wine and dessert. The server tried to make it right by taking off one of the sides. We expected a better experience overall.

   Honestly best filet I’ve had in months, smashed potatoes were cold, Cole slaw was warm I didn’t even eat it because I don’t trust warm mayo. My iced tea had no ice and our server was scarce. The one time he stopped by after food hit table I was almost done with the filet and he said he had a table that was “needy”so he couldn’t get back! If you just want a piece of meat it’s a great place to eat!

    Enjoyed the Mother’s Day brunch. We had prime rib, roasted duck, and salmon. Everything was delicious. We were not aware of the $30.70 service charge, but what can you do? If you visit ask about automatic gratuity and service charges up front. Overall a very nice restaurant with great ambiance

    A great mix of Shula's Steakhouse and a casual atmosphere. Nice ambiance, and food was fantastic. Catered to everyone at our table from one who wanted a burger, one a steak and then seafood.

    We waited at least 10 minutes for hostess to arrive at the host station to check us in. My hubby uses a walker and after walking in from front parking lot the 10 minute stand-up wait was difficult for him. Looks like we caught the hostesses on break as two finally came out to seat us, once a kind waitstaff saw us standing there for quite a while. Not even a “sorry for your wait”… Server was attentive so he gets 4 stars.

    OVERALL: (4). Due to a couple of bad experiences in the past we tend to bypass Shula’s for Winter Park even though it is very close to our home. However, this was our second very good visit in a row and the restaurant is going back in our rotation! FOOD: (5). My wife: Grilled Ahi Tuna with Risotto. She was able to select one of her favorite wines. (4+) Me: Side Caesar Salad, Maryland Crab Cakes, fries, green beans. I grew up in Maryland and these were true Maryland-style crab cakes with just the right ratio of breading and delicious lumpy crab meat cooked to perfection. (5). SERVICE: (4). There were some excessive wait gaps prior to our order being taken, but after that the service was very good. AMBIANCE: (3). The restaurant offers booth plus low and high-top table seating inside. From past experience, we find all three to be uncomfortable plus the air temperature is always set at bone-chilling cold. We use the very pleasant outside seating when the weather allows, which was the case this evening. VALUE: (4). Market pricing.

    Service at this restaurant was very disappointed. We were waiting for out food over 30 mins, no one came check on us or letting us know the dish we ordered will take a bit longer. Until we walked to the reception and asked for our server or manager. Then the server shown up then told us our dish need longer to cook, I thought if the dish need longer , we should be warned when we place the order. During the whole time waiting for our food, the server didn't come to our table check on us. Even though he comp us an ice cream desert at the end tried to smooth things out. We feel a restaurant with the name as Don Shula shouldn't have this kind of service. We live in the neighborhood, but won't be going back there again.

    We went for Easter brunch and after finding out that they weren’t doing a traditional brunch we decided to stay anyway. That was our mistake. This is probably one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. the service was very slow to start out with. Our server was clearly not very experienced by the way she worked our table. I asked for her to switch out a side dish for me, which I have done many times at this restaurant and she said no until after she took everyone’s orders and then conceded to let me make the change. three out of six people in our party had meals that were over cooked, asking for medium rare and getting well done. They were sent back and came out a second time over cooked. the eggs for the egg Benedict came out a third time and were finally cooked correctly. The lamb and New York strip we gave up on. the manager did the right thing and comped those meals but the meal was basically ruined at this point.whoever was cooking in their kitchen had no idea what they were doing. The New York stop cut looked like something you get from Publix; it was maybe 1/2 thick. The manager actually asked us to shine a flashlight on the meat (in the middle of day with natural light shining in the restaurant) to prove that the meat was over cooked. The sautéed broccoli was just steamed florets with butter and salt, the Brussels were drowning in oil. The food quality was sub par. I will NEVER go back to Shulas.

    I had a great time for girl’s night out. My friend ordered Burrota Salad and added shrimp for an extra $14. She received 3 small shrimp. That’s a bit ridiculous. I ordered the short ribs and asked for extra Demi glaze on the side. They put the extra glaze on the meat making it very salty and over sauced. Only ate a few bites. Another friend ordered a filet and seemed to have enjoyed it. The server acknowledged my upcoming birthday and brought a complimentary dessert which was very nice.

    Dropped in for a quiet Sunday lunch. Service was good, not many customers that day. Had the Shula’s burger and my wife had a salad. Burger was good, chicken on the salad was like rubber. Was disappointed that the draft beer tap system was down.

    I had a business lunch at Shula's 347 Grille with an old colleague, and really enjoyed ourselves. I had a drink at the bar, and an excellent lunch in the dining room. The service was great, and the food was fantastic. I had the Salmon with Broccolini and Mashed Potatoes, and it was awesome. I'd recommend that dish to anyone. The main dining room is very modern and sophisticated, and the noise level is perfect for having a business meal, or a quiet romantic dinner.

    👍🏻 We hadn’t been for quite a while, but decided to go for dinner and sit outside. Beautiful night and no one was outside, so we had the patio to ourselves. Food was excellent, shrimp scampi with risotto was tastier than expected and husbands salmon was amazing. Manager came to check on us twice, which was nice. Server great as well. Have to put Shulas back in the rotation

    This was a Valentines evening dinner with an 8:30 reservation. It was not packed so maybe that tells something. We were a little early so went to the bar for drinks. Please note that these were $10 each and they were good (Tito's soda and Tito's pineapple). The ambiance here is good, a little dark but still good. We were seated and ordered the Calamari which was amazing with the exception of the teeny tiny sauce bowl. We asked for more sauce. It finally came AFTER we ordered dinner and Calamari was cold. In addition to this, we ordered dinner of famous Crab Cakes and NY Strip. 15 minutes later the sauce for the Calamari arrived. We ordered 2 more of the exact same drinks and these were $13 each !?? What? 35 minutes after that the dinner plates finally arrived. The food was very good, however the NY strip did have one huge gristle that should not have been in a steak of this supposed quality. The manager came by a muttered something about "sorry it took so long ... blah blah" with no offer of making it right. The entrees took 50 minutes!! Our server pretty much disappeared until we had to ask for the check. And two tables next to us that arrived and ordered about 25-30 minutes after us received all of their entrees first!! There was also a mystery charge of $2 which I assume was for the extra teeny tiny sauce for the Calamari? I attempted to call and speak with the GM twice a few days later to avoid doing this review but she did not return my call. It has been 3 days. I made it clear that I was a customer that needed to speak with the GM. We will not return to this place.

    The service was not up to par for a Shula’s restaurant, server was preoccupied with something other than our table. Check was incorrect. Filet was sent back as undercooked and came back out charred. Did not rate as well as other visits to this location or LBV.
