Advised them as soon as we got there we needed 2 of our friends order to be started soon as the kitchen opened at 6pm They said no problem, food would be out by 6.15. All the food for everyone else arrived before them. Wait staff didn't apologize, tried ridiculous excuses. Salmon was over cooked and didn't smell great. Fish and chips were too greasy. Drinks took over 20 mins to arrive. Food way overpriced for what it was.Very disappointed. Went at Christmas and was great. Won't be returning.

Since outside the restaurant is a bus station and really not much view, I think it would be better to close the window instead of having them opened and listening to the buses' engines noise. Other than that, it was a nice experience!

We have had dinner at this restaurant several times and drinks only on other occasions. It has a lovely atmosphere and looks good and the food is generally consistent. Last night's seafood gnocchi was a bit disappointing as the gnocchi was a bit soggy but the prawns and scallops were delicious. The feta and olive starter is a winner and the chicken katsu is fantastic - we usually have that but decided to branch out. Next time? The return of the katsu!

Great variety of food choices for everyone and prices reasonable and friendly staff. Only concern is the level of the music played, the acoustics at the Avenue is not good. So you really had to talk loud to be heard, turn the music down or fix the acoustics.

A group of girlfriends went to the Avenue on Friday night and I could not have been more happy with our choice....it ticked every box! A drink at the bar before being seated, extremely friendly staff who not only recommended food and wine but went out of their way to ensure we were happy with our choice, excellent food, great atmosphere and we weren't the last ones to leave.......highly recommend this restaurant. Will be back for sure.

The service staff were attentive and accommodating. The menu was flexible, and as a vegetarian that is very helpful. The drinks list was spot on for a girls night: cocktails and wine.

The Avenue had been recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed! I loved the old school 'vintage' style of the place and the service was excellent! The food was to die for and the cocktails were amazing!! I can definitely see myself coming to this place more often!

Fantastic service and even better food. I loved that a lot of the tapas menu was naturally gluten free. The ambiance was really nice, a lovely 'in-the-round' interior with soft fairy lights.

6 of us had dinner here last night and it was the perfect night out. The decor is an eclectic mix of old world charm, with chandeliers and dark wooden tables. The staff were some of the best I've encountered in recent times: happy, polite, offering recommendations, there when you needed them but not hovering.The food was some of the best we've had in a long time.Would highly recommend the place! We'll be back!

Lovely restaurant and good food, however the evening was marred as a bottle of wine we had paid for in cash was then added to our bill. When we (8 women) disputed the charge and confirmed we had paid in cash at the start of the evening, the management and server could not find any trace of the cash we had provided and insisted we paid.Really after the amount we paid overall, it was not in the interests of the restaurant to quibble over a $38 bottle of wine.Sadly we will not be back.

It's a great venue and we had a great evening out as the interesting decor sparked a few left field conversations. We went on a Monday night, expecting it to be quiet and it was very quiet. The mood seem to get to the staff and we had pleasant but distracted service all night and much of the menu was unavailable after a busy lunch trade. However everything served up was substantial, well prepared and enjoyable... it just felt that it could have been so much more.
