   Went here for my Birthday and was so excited they opened an Omaha location!! The server was super friendly and helpful. We all tried something different and we each loved what we ordered. Fresh, unique menu but with food you can recognize !

   This was our first time and it was A-mazing! We were there for the restaurant week menu; however, the regular menu was just as great. The food was pretty, which feels weird to say, and delicious. Good sized portions packed full of flavor. Crab rangoon tots and dill pickle chips, sliced thin, were to die for. I would highly, highly recommend 712!

    If I could give this place TEN stars, I would. I’m a real foodie and, pardon my ignorance, I did not expect to find such amazing food in Council Bluffs, Iowa. We were a group of 10 people heading home from Ragbrai and without exception everyone thought their meal was delicious. The service was great as well. Even the house salad dressing is killer. Try the short rib sandwich - I’ll be jonesing for another one of those until I’m back for Ragbrai again next year.

    When we visit my mother in Council Bluffs, we try to find new restaurants in Omaha but we didn't feel like heading over to Omaha so we went to 712 instead. Awesome awesome food! Better than most every Omaha restaurant I've been too. The Brussel Sprouts were mixed with carmelized onions and roasted to perfection. I didn't get the salmon because usually salmon is overcooked but my husband got it . . . it was fantastic! I had a Caesar Salad with chicken and the anchovy flavor and Caesar dressing was soooooo good. We are heading back there in 3 weeks and I plan to get the Caesar Salad with salmon. My husband and I are keto and they had plenty of selections for us and allowed us to make substitutions.

    We ordered the Cubano and Sausage flatbread. The flatbread was the perfect size. The parmesan fries were crispy and yummy. We wished they would have offered a bottle water drink option as we found the taste of Council Bluffs water kind of icky. Service was very friendly and attentive. It's a smaller bistro w no booths so not really a place to go for a cozy private meal.

    I've had my eye on this place for awhile, because of the good reviews. They are on Open Table, so I convinced my husband to take a spontaneous trip into Iowa for dinner and reserved a table. He usually shies away from fru-fru, but we found this to be an approachable restaurant with interesting and unique options. We started with the house-made tater tots. They were filled with creamy, cheesy crab Rangoon flavors. Really special and unique. Everyone talks about the beet salad. Me too. The balls of pistachio crusted goat cheese were surprising, flavorful and melty. My husband had a typical burger and fries but said it was the best he'd ever had. He added bacon for fifty cents. The portions are not gigantic; they're reasonable, so that means you can share an appetizer and dessert along with your entrees and not feel uncomfortable by the end of the meal. Also, it's been hot recently, and who wants to worry about leftovers when you might want to go elsewhere after dinner? Dessert was a whipped strawberry cheesecake with whipped cream and candied bacon. Yep, you read that right. It was light and fluffy, not dense. Very good. Brian, our server, was welcoming and helpful. He has another career but does this for fun on Wednesday nights and sometimes Friday nights. Yes, for fun, and it really shows. Seating includes high chairs at the bar, a few high tables in the center of the place, half booths with low tables on one side of the restaurant and low tables only on the other side. I had the booth. Hubby said the chair was very comfortable. There is also outdoor seating. The name of the restaurant and the murals both boast pride of place. I'm so looking forward to our return.

    This was our first experience at 712 and we will definitely go back if in the area. Excellent food quality for the price. Our waitress started off strong but then disappeared the majority of our meal. We dined inside and enjoyed the casual ambience, but the space is a bit echoey. Overall I would rate it a 7.5 out of 10.

    Fabulous meal, very reasonably priced. We had the beet salad with shrimp, the burger and the salmon. We shared the homemade tater tots with crab Rangoon filling (yuhhhhn) and the Brussels. #cleanplateclub so good!!!!

    I tend to be a picky eater. There were several items on the menu that I thought sounded good. Chef made my fire chicken just as requested with the "fire" on the side. Delicious

    We eat here often for numerous reasons. The food and drink is amazing. The staff is engaging and attentive. The owner is present and always making sure the entire restaurant is enjoying their time there, And one of my biggest reasons is because I have a three year old and a one year old...and they're not treated like an inconvenience and we can sit outside and be as loud as we need to be so the kids can enjoy their time too! Best place in Council Bluffs.
