Being on a weekend away, was not familiar with the area. Parking was a nightmare. Everywhere was resident parking only so had to park in a car park a little further away than we would have liked. Restaurant was not very helpful and the young girl wasn’t sure and did not have any suggestions. Food was good, recommend if you are meeting friends as there is a variety of cuisines to meet every bodies needs.

Food not nice pre cooked starter main instant mash lamb ribs too fatty. Price very expensive. Last time we went food and price excellent. Waiter keep touching all our glasses not good with Covid 19. Has this been taken over by someone else?

Sligjtly disappointed and expensive. We've ordered takeaway from here a couple of times. The first time it was excellent, the second was disappointing. So we decided to go out for dinner. We booked a table for 7pm on a bank holiday, so we anticipated it would be busy. When we turned up we were asked to come back in half an hour because they were busy. We understood, being a bank holiday, so we came back and were seated at a nice window seat. We ordered two cocktails but were warned a couple of times they would take a while, which again we said was fine. They arrived midway through our starter which was OK. Our starter was the grill sharing platter, however they said the extractor fans weren't working so it was cooked in the kitchen at no discounted price. It was also a lot of money for what it was. Two skewers of chicken, salmon and prawn for £20. We tried asking for one just with salmon and prawn as my partner didn't eat meat but the waiter didn't seem to understand and just gave us a mix of the three without lamb. But we just moved things around so my partner didn't have any meat. We then ordered our mains. I ordered the lamb shank and my partner ordered a selection of Indian dishes. These were good. My only issue was the lamb shank sauce was spicy. Very spicy. I will say the cumin greens they put with it, which was a tiny portion compared to the rest of the dish, was delicious. I'd have liked more.We had offered this feedback about spice levels when requested in the past, saying they should have spice ratings next to their dishes, but they have not done so. So I struggled to finish my dish, which cost £18. The other Indian dishes were good. But for two cocktails, a bottle of wine, shared starter and two mains, it was very expensive even with the eat out to help out scheme. I'm not sure we'll be retuning at that price. For that price I'd I'd expect a little better service, better food and better experience overall. The menus were in poly pockets and printed out.

Just a little disappointing the main feature of the restaurant being able to bar-b-que your own food was unavailable on the day we visited.

We went as it look amazing on paper, however we got there and the place was empty for a Friday night, we were received by a very hesitant young lady who saw us to our table. The whole service was a dance between her and an older, Indian gentleman. Both very nice and polite, but they didn't seem quite sure of what they were doing. We choose the place because of the on-table-bbq, and we selected dishes that said "bbq" to ensure we could get the food cooked on the table, but that didn't happen. The cocktails (and old fashion and a bloody mary) were horrible, the sugar in the old fashion had not been mixed or disolved and the bloody mary was just tomato juice and vodka. The food was ok, your avarage for Indian take away, but not worth the price or the trip up there. We ordered a kulfi for dessert and it was below avarage. We were celebrating my partern's bday weekend starting there and the whole thing was just unpleasant. We would recomend the food for take away, but definitely not the restaurant service.

This is the second time we have been to ABC and were so impressed the first time we went back with friends and the 115 mile round trip was 100% worth it. The BBQ starter was again perfect the sorbet palette cleanser was spot on the lobster main was perfect an the flaming cream brûlée was lovely. Service was friendly and efficient. Pay them a visit you will not regret it. We will be back agin.

We booked a table for half 8 and still were not even seated by 9. We watched other people walk out who had been seated since quarter past 8 and not even offered a drink. Its such a shame as I've eaten there before and the food is good.... although the wait is very long... The place is let down solely by the service

Food was excellent as was the service. I am only marking down a bit because the table wasn't ready until about 20-30 minutes after the booking time, but they were very busy. Definitely would go back.

Food was good quality and the staff were friendly, however we booked a table and when we arrived there wasn’t a table available and we were offered to join another table of diners, which we declined as it would have a bit random. They then put us on a table on our own which felt like it was in a waiting area so we ended up waiting 45 minutes for another table to come available. The menu is also quite confusing and could do with explaining when brought to you by the server. The staff do not seem to communicate too well. Once we received our meal, the food was a very good standard and the service improved.

Great dining experience with bbq-ing on the table and canapés and champagne sorbet served with set menus. The food offered is a mix of British or Asian and our table of four got different cuisines. Everyone’s dish had great flavour and very good quality food. Therefore, despite the confusing menu, would highly recommend the food itself. Service left a lot to be desired, we were served by multiple different people who often didn’t seem to know the food or what was required. We had to ask multiple times for more drinks or for plates to be cleared and there was confusion over the menu and what was in the set menu deals. There may have been new members of staff when we attended that did not know what to do? All staff were polite, however. Despite service, this was a different sort of dining experience and the food was so great that we would definitely come again!

It was my first experience of this restaurant & the service, food, was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond our for our requests. They catered for allergy and vegetarian dishs. They also cooked paneer dishs which were not on the menu. Looking to revisit again. Thank you for the complimentry extras too.

It’s was Christmas Day! The food is delicious, the menu offers a variety of Indian, Thai and British cuisine, we’ve tried all of them because we are a big family. Surprisingly everything was super delicious! We totally recommend it ;)

Simply the best food ever, great service with a unique style, the head shelf and I think owner is clearly at the top of his game. My family and I loved every Minuit and every morsel. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. We don’t live in the area but will be back in Oxford again so we can eat at ABC again. 5stars all day long, just go you won’t regret it.

We booked this fairly new restaurant for a Saturday lunchtime and when we arrived at around 1pm we were the only guests. It was pleasantly warm and not noisy - good for conversation - no background music. The refurbished space looked good and the menu, with its choice of Indian, Thai and British cuisine looked promising, and suited the various preferences of our party of four. So far so good. The thing which spoiled our experience was the delay of over 70 minutes between ordering our food and receiving our main courses. We were due somewhere else at 3pm and had assumed this was ample time. No attempt was made at the outset to explain that the service would be slow. One other family arrived and seemed to be served more quickly, but in fact there were no other guests - just two tables. I dread to think how long you would wait if the restaurant was full! As we were hungry, we had ordered some naan bread as a starter. Before this arrived we were unexpectedly served complimentary poppadums. Then our bread. Then a complimentary sorbet. It felt like the staff were offering these things in apology for the delay. If this is all according to plan, they should communicate it better with guests and make it a selling point. The waiting staff were at times hesitant and sometimes a little pushy. We were told it was a fine dining experience but it didn’t feel that way. When the food finally arrived it tasted really delicious. It really deserved a better set-up to present it at its best. We are unlikely to return.

We have visited this restaurant twice now. The food is very nice and well priced. Staff is really nice, and the Chef came to our table to explain the dishes. It has always been really quite and relax when we have been in. We will definitely be back!

Good food with a difference and loved the choice of various cuisines. However the service was very slow and the staff seem to be unsure and a bit disorganised. This may be just that the restaurant is very newly opened and finding it's feet - I do hope so.

We visited ABC on its opening weekend for a family birthday lunch for 4. It’s a pretty intimate venue (30ish covers?) and has been fitted out very nicely with high quality furniture and decor. The concept is 3 relatively short menus of Indian, Thai & British food which suited us. The USP is the charcoal cooking at the table - each table has a built in firepit and extractor fan . Hoping for some theatricality I ordered the mixed Indian kebab starter. Slightly surprised to find out that I was cooking this (with some discrete guidance). But hey I love BBQs and every element of the kebab was absolutely delicious, even if I do say so myself 😀 For mains we had a Jalfrezi, 2 veg birianis and a Bbq spatchcock chicken with creamy mash. All of the food was absolutely delicious, with my daughter declaring the garlic naan the best thing she’d ever eaten and my son rating the chicken similarly and the mash better than his mum’s😁 We enjoyed our meal and hope ABC succeeds - Headington is a tough market and the pricing is at the quality end, which the cooking more than justifies. Speed of service and staff training are two development areas which will hopefully come as they find their feet. A more fundamental point to consider is the positioning and communication of the ‘at table’ cooking. Is this DIY or by the chef? Which dishes are cooked in this way? How can they maximise the experience potential which this holds? We’ll be back to find out!
