It was very nice to meet the owners and talk to them.
Food was excellent, service was well above what you normally would expect. The manager was very open to our observations and suggestions. Definitely on my list of go to restaurants in area.
Adrak brings a modern and refreshing twist on the traditional Indian cuisine. There are many Indian restaurants in the GTA but in most of them one can find quite the same menu items. Adrak's menu offers some traditional dishes alongside more original and unique ones. Such was the excellent stuffed onion and the potato loops (see photos). The traditional dishes were also excellent. We had a lamb Biryani served in a Naan-covered bowl (see photos) and chicken Korma - both among the finest we've had in Canada. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is simply excellent. Prices aren't the cheapest, but they are more than reasonable considering what you're getting in return. I highly recommend Adrak and we would definitely come again.
Superb food and excellent customer service! We were surprised that they have a no gratuity policy. Will visit again soon!
The appetizers were okay but the quantity was not enough for the price paid. There was nothing new about the food as curries were very boring and had no distinct sharp taste. Was were expecting more from this fine dining restaurant but was disappointed with the quality of food and service. Perhaps revamping the menu and narrowing down to few items that can be justified to a food critic can be a good start and later on expand as you bring specialized chef. Concentration should be on the food than on the ambiance for now.
My husband and I, along with a friend were craving Indian food with a nicer atmosphere than typical Indian restaurants in the city. We had all been to Adrak before, so chose to go there. We were not disappointed; the ambiance is really lovely for a Saturday night dinner and this is matched with the friendly service and delicious food. We were well taken care of by Dilawar Nindra and the rest of the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish and I especially appreciated their willingness to make some dishes dairy free as I am allergic to dairy. We will be back!
Had dinner with family. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. Service was awesome and Food was so delicious. Will be back definitely!
Lovely restaurant. Food was outstanding and service impeccable
Excellent food, service and atmosphere!! Highly recommend the masala
Have never been disappointed with the food or service. The egg plant, shrimp and of course the garlic naan is always a hit for my teenaged kids.
Amazing Service and Food
Sujeewan's service was excellent
Will return soon..
Excellent food and customer service but a little pricey!
My husband and I have been to Adrak many times. They had recently changed the menu and the usual dish I ordered was spicier than I expected. The manager could not do enough to try and make the experience better from offering to re cook the dish to offering another dish instead. It was really fantastic and overall the food is fresh, and very sophisticated.
I spent $150 for food that did not taste like authentic India food. I do not mind paying more, but it should be value for money. The biryani was like plain rice, and dont get me started about the butter chicken. Only thing ok was the bbq sampler. I am not happy with the food and will never go back. It was a waste of my money. I had high expectations. Service and staff was excellent, but am sorry that was not authentic Indian food. I eat around a lot, and I know the difference between good and bad food. Unfortunately, this restaurant is off of my list and would not recommend it to even an enemy.
We booked a large group for an early Father's Day dinner. We have been to Adrak several times as a family and have not been disappointed. The round booths are great for large groups, spacious and private. The server we had for this past dinner was fantastic as well as the rest of the staff. The food is flavorful, there is a good cocktail menu and the serving sizes are generous.
Food was really good! Some new dishes which you won't find in traditional places. Also the bread is made fresh in front of you.
Portion of the food was small compare to the price
If I am to point out the single negative point... expect slowness in food preparation. Otherwise, awesome place.
The service was excellent. Very disappointed with the food. Ordered chicken pakoras and we received pub style breaded chicken strips, what was totally unacceptable. Food presentation was good but bland in taste and more in line with what you would get at a buffet style restaurant where all dishes taste the same. The naans and kawabs were the only saving grace.
This was our visit after a while and seems things have changed. Using frozen veggies in what is the so called vegetable Biryani, tips in only cash, not refilling the water until you remind them. Mentioned on the phone that it was a special occasion to be told that we have a good menu and we can’t do anything beyond that but we can bring the beetroot halwa with a candle on a charged basis. Ok that’s fine...not a problem. But the server was least interested and just gave the bill and didn’t bring it. Anyways, conclusion of 4 people on the table. Last visit to a so called high end Indian restaurant with a very cold welcome. I hope they improve the service as it once used to be with friendly staff and much better food quality.
Great restaurant! Will definitely be back! The staff are phenomenal!
This place was recommended by an Indian co-worker. I'd never tried "upscale Indian", only smaller restaurants, typically buffet.
We had the Raan-E-Sikandari (roasted leg of lamb) which was very good; Aloo Bhalla Chaat (pretty good); Amritsari Fish Tikka (pretty good, very spicy).
Service was just adequate.
The ambiance tries hard to be upscale but doesn't quite pull it off.
Overall, we felt the experience was just ok, considering the price (dinner for two of us was $127 without tip, and only one beer as far as drinks went). It's nice to try Indian cuisine beyond the standard butter chicken and lentil dishes, but we felt this could have been much better.
Excellent Indian cuisine in a good environment. Great service.
We are repeat dinners. Loved the Smokey Baingan Bharta.
Loved the food especially baingan ka salan and the mutton vindaloo. Perfect biryani and great gulab jamun and rasamalai. Our service individual was very knowledgeable and was able to understand our taste very well. Overall a restaurant to visit again and again !
Excellent restaurant. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.
Simply the best Indian food I the GTA. Fantastic selection with new menu and service is always exceptional. A must try.
We were a group of 9 celebrating a birthday - we had excellent service and the food was excellent! The management and staff were accommodating and we even brought our own birthday cake.
Would definitely recommend Adrakh to friends.
Excellent food and service. We had our company Christmas lunch at Adrak and everybody enjoyed food here.
The waiter who attended us was horrible. He had absolutely no sense of customer service and had an issue for everything. Any question you ask, he would say policy and I can't help after which he would immediately walk away before we could ask anything else. My guest had a preference for type of water which they don't carry so decided to carry her own bottle but the waiter guy put up an argument stating house policy which will not allow her to drink her own water(it was just a Dasani bottle). There were other problems too and its just ridiculous. I have had many business meetings and large dinners there but I don't think I will go back again.
Fantastic restaurant, great staff and exquisite food.
They insisted I pay the tip in cash. I was not allowed to add it on a credit card to my bill. Never heard of this before.
Charged me $1.50 for a glass of warm water with my meal. I was eating there with my business partners. What kind of charge is this?
No I would not recommend it to anyone.
Can't say enough great things about this place.
- Staff were amazing
- food was unbeatable
- environment was superb
Good ambiance and food. Lots of vegetarian options. Wait time to get food after ordering can be improved.
Beautiful decor and delicious, imaginative dishes combined with great service.
Spent ssturday night with friends at Adrak. It was our fourth visit to the restaurant and we were once again pleased with the staff and yummy food. Service was excellent with many staff attending to our party of 6. Our friends who had not been before were thrilled with the selection.
Best Indian I've tried and I've tried several. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food including savoury tandoori lamb chops and extremely flavourful mulligatawny soup. Great butter chicken and garlic naan. Highly recommended. Lots of parking. Close to Highway 404 just off Highway 7.
One of the best fine dining Indian restaurants in the GTA. I find myself comparing the service from Adrak when I’m out elsewhere. We always have a great time and it’s all thanks to the great staff.
We ordered appetizers, cocktails and a main course. We only got the appetizers and one of our cocktails. The waiter had to come back three times to ask us what we ordered even though he had written it down initially when we first ordered. He had to be reminded about our food many times. After waiting an hour after we finished our appetizers, our food still had not arrived. We decided to just pay for what we had and leave. It was Diwali that night which was completely ruined thanks to all the micro management of the restaurant. There was one manager who basically billed all the waiters to do what he thought was important. After a large party came into the restatement, everyone else was completely forgotten. There were 3 other tables who were complaining as well.
The Paneer Platter I ordered was not having the types of Paneer listed on the menu, it has most of the stuff not listed in the items, The food taste was also not as good as we had it first time.
I ordered Bangan bharta which was suppose to have a smokey flavor which was not at all a smokey flavor.
We tried Adrak for the first time a few days ago (early October 2017). Service was terrific, ambiance was nice and food was delicious. It was a bit pricey overall (we did have alcoholic drinks with our meal), but worth it. I was surprised by the automatic 12.5% service charge they tacked onto the bill, which I discovered when I couldn't leave a tip when paying with my credit card. As the service charge is less than I would have left for a tip, I guess it was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely go back when we're visiting Toronto again.
