   The food was so delicious like the best Afghan food I ever had. The place is super cute too ! I went to the State Street location, there are two listed. Our service was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant!

   Excellent food, and excellent service! We felt very well taken care of, and we could over hear tables on both sides of us gushing about their foods as well, so i think everything must be amazing!😂 Would definitely recommend!!!

   I almost don't want to tell anyone how amazing our meal was because if this place gets too busy I'll be annoyed. Every single thing we ate was incredible, from the Mantu dumplings to the chicken Qabili Palau to the lamb and beef Kebab E Seekhi and the garlic naan. The sauces, especially the Chutney and Morch e sorkh, were also divine. The meal (including the copious amount of leftovers) was a 10/10 and we'll be back OFTEN.

   I am almost reluctant to give an honest review for fear too many people will come and I won’t be able to get in! This food is delicious, obviously prepared with attention to detail, as though made for a special occasion family dinner. Wonderful flavors and textures, nicely presented. Pride is in evidence. Prices are fair, portion sizes are large — plenty to take home. Service is efficient, friendly and polite. We will be back as regulars.

   "Fall off the bone" lamb was an accurate menu description. The best Nan in town. Every dish was delicious and felt like it came from an Aghani"s kitchen rather than restaurant food. Thoroughly enjoyable.

    Our first time eating Afghan food was a great experience. We had the mantu, lamb shank and the kabobs. All were delicious. No regrets and I will probably be back.

    They looked at me strangely when I said I had a reservation. They are on Open Table but don’t use it. Fortunately, we ate early and there was no problem getting a table. They did fill up towards the end of our meal. Service was okay. A little lagging. Food was excellent. Ambiance a little spartan. Overall, it was a good experience. I would go again.

    You cannot actually make reservations here. We went to the restaurant and thankfully they had a table open, but Open Table needs to take this reservation system off for Afghan Kitchen because they are only first come first serve. That being said, the food here is incredible. So flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend for a casual dinner

    This is the second branch of the original restaurant on Main Street. It is bigger, brighter, and more spacious. Most importantly, the food is just as delicious as the original restaurant. There isn't an item on the menu that we don't love. I particularly love the lamb shank because the meat just falls off its bone. The owner is friendly and kind. You must give Afghan Kitchen a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

    I read about this restaurant in Salt Lake Magazine. We made reservations thinking it would be packed on a Saturday night. When we got there, very few people were in the restaurant. The service and the food was outstanding. It’s in a strip mall so it may still be a “hidden gem.”

    The food was amazing! Everything was perfectly spiced - NOT spicy but with an incredible amount of flavor. We were very glad we made a reservation through open table as they were quite busy and we’re having to turn away parties without a reservation. We will definitely be back the next time we are in SLC!

    We just discovered this wonderful restaurant. The chicken kebobs and the chicken curry are so moist and tender and simply exceptional that we came back 3 days after our first visit. We will be back frequently. The service is terrific and the atmosphere is clearly casual and unpretentious, I just wish they had a liquor license.

    My husband and I were visiting Salt Lake City and were having difficulty finding a reservation for a Friday evening. The Afghan Kitchen was able to accommodate us. The food was succulent and delicious, the service was wonderful and the prices were extremely reasonable. The very best lamb shank I have ever eaten. I wish we had a restaurant like this at home.

    The food was excellent- we loved the lamb shank and Lola kebab, along with the appetizer (can’t recall the name, but I think it was the first one on the menu). The lamb shank with the rice with raisins was especially tasty. The place had a nice atmosphere and a pretty clean bathroom. My only complaint was the somewhat slow service. When we (a party of two) arrived, there was only one other party there, with only two people. A couple more parties arrived later during our time there. However, there was one server for everyone, and she seemed incredibly busy and took awhile to take our order (actually, someone else came out of the kitchen to finally take our order after we’d been there for ~15 min), then our server only checked on us once before we asked for the check. We had to get her attention to ask for the check, and that took awhile to come back to us too. I will say that the time between our order and the food coming out was pretty short, so not much of a wait there. If the server is going to be that busy, I think having another server would help. This is a pretty minor complaint overall. The food was great and we’d come back!
