Afghan Kitchen is the manifestation of a young boy’s dream. He roamed the streets of Kabul in his sandals and saw how hard his family worked to sustain themselves. In the times of war, they moved to different neighbouring countries until they finally came to Canada.

Kebab has a long history dating to the ancient times where fuel for cooking was relatively scarce. Kebab dishes have been adopted and integrated with different cooking styles and innovations. Our kebabs are marinated at least overnight, then grilled over fire to maximize the tenderness of the meats and their flavours. We’ve been wanting to try Afghan Kitchen for awhile and it was worth the wait! The owner seated us and spent time explaining Afghan food to us. Such a nice unassuming man. He took the time to come over again to see how everything was. We really appreciated that as they were busy. The food was excellent, especially the bolani and Afghan chicken! We felt it was reasonably priced too as our main course dishes were between $19 and $23 each. Highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back. Best to get reservations.

We were seated in the traditional side of the restaurant. Not good if you have bad knees.. it is sitting on the floor with pillows… but The experience was fun. The food was very good and interesting. The next time we would probably ask for the table and chairs seating. We had a great evening.

This is a treat and immediately will become one of our go to dining experiences! Their understanding of ensuring the customer has an incredible experience from the second you walk in the door in recognized. The hostess was so accommodating, the service was great, the drinks…….incredible and unique, the food I don’t know where to start! Each dish we experienced was delicious and if I could eat gluten I definitely would have gone after some of those other amazing looking dishes that passed us! I am always so excited, as you can see, when I discover a destination restaurant out of Vancouver! Thank you to the entire team at Afghan Kitchen you hit it out of the park!

The 3 of us had an enjoyable experience. The food was tasty & we had leftovers. The atmosphere is comfortable, clean & modern. The server could have been a bit more attentive as it wasn’t busy…but staff were pleasant. We had a very good experience overall & will return.

We were seated in the lounge area as a family of six. The food was very well-presented and appetizing. The server was very considerate and recommended removing any spices for the fries. When I commented that the dessert was a little bit too sweet for us, she immediately gave us a different one to tryout - what a delicate surprise! It's a memorable mother's day celebration indeed.

Always a pleasure to visit Afghan Kitchen. We always leave completely satisfied and are treated with warmth and compassion from the staff. We attended for Mother's Day with our 3 month old baby who slept in the Carseat while we had dinner up in the floor seating area. The food presentation was absolutely beautiful, and the flavors brought out pure enjoyment and delight in us. We were surprised with a special happy mother's day message written on the dessert plate when we ordered Mums Secret. Always so so good and ofcourse we will be back. Keep up the amazing service and quality.

1) Waitress was told that two of my friends were being treated for birthdays---not acknowledged until metioned to gentlemman on leaving who asked us to come back for dessert (we didn't as we would have shared when we were seated). 2) Waitress never asked if we wanted tea or coffee We figured she was inexperienced because we were there before the supper rush. Did give 18% tip, because believe tips are shared with others.

Family meal. One of the best and most interesting meals I have had in many years. Excellent menu choices, great presentation and good value. We had the Brussel Sprouts, Lamb Kebabs & Aushak ( Veggie Dumplings ). All our meals were first class. No hesitation in recommending the Afghan Kitchen for a great middle eastern dining experience.

This is an excellent place for great food and service when with your family. I don't live in BC and yet make a point of stopping at Afghan Kitchen each time I'm in town. Such a wonderful combination of excellent food and service. Love it there. However due to their popularity you must plan ahead to get a table there at your desired time.

The food here is fabulous! Portions are good and incredibly tasty. My only 2 negatives are 1) tables are pretty close together and 2) they are not open for lunch. Will be back for sure!

Noise level detracts from enjoying the food. High ceiling, no buffer the main problem. Service was excellent. Food overall very good.
