   The hotel & surroundings are lovely, staff always very friendly & the lounge we had afternoon tea in was very nice. The afternoon tea was presented well, the only downside was very little savoury. Only 2 small finger sandwiches each, there was plenty of sweet / cake - too much even. It just needed to be balanced better between sweet & savoury.

   I'm new to afternoon tea experiences, this is the 2nd one I have been on, you definitely pay for the location and ambience rather than the food, we really enjoyed our afternoon tea, looked like it wouldn't fill us up but we ended up taking home a doggy bag. Burley Manor is definitely more on the sweet tooth side, I would have preferred more savoury selection than sweet but I've been told afternoon tea is all about the cakes so that's just my personal preference, the location is great and it's a lovely place with qwerky little shops to browse round if you have time, would definitely go again and give myself a bit more time to enjoy the whole area Xx

   Each item on the cake stand was delicious, fresh, and good quality. It seemed that a lot of care had been taken in producing it all. The conservatory was warm and beautifully decorated, and the views across the garden and the further fields made for a very pleasant experience. All that, coupled with attentive and friendly service ! Thank you.

   For value for money would have expected the food to be all home made. Mince pies were shop bought and possibly other items as well. Sandwiches all same filling and few in number. had to ask for extras.

    Beautiful setting, we were sat on a lovely table in the conservatory looking out over the deer. The service team were really helpful and friendly. The afternoon tea was delicious and catered for vegans really well!

    The selection of food looked impressive but the quality and taste was variable. The scones were dry fir example. The service was not what we expected from a place like Burley Manor. When you are paying over £100 for afternoon tea for 4 people you expect high standards. We had to ask for milk to go with our tea. It wasn't bad but not great either. Then they added on 10% service charge.

    So disappointed, not only was there a lack of staff, the staff they had were all grumpy, food portions were very small, literally cut small corners off cakes so you only had a bite! Was advertised as £25, but turns out is was each not for two, I was very unhappy paying £50 for what we got, was not worth it at all. Tried to charge me £5 surcharge for doing nothing, they did take it off as I complained!

    The food was OK but I suspect that in order to keep the price down, they have reduced the portions. What we had was fine. However, the tea was not good. It was a bag, not loose leaf, and not the best we've had. Tea does taste better in china, rather than pottery, so this is something that could be improved. I don't think we would go to this venue again but nothing serious to complain about. I would rather pay a bit more and get quality.

    Champagne Afternoon tea treat from friends for 60th Birthday. Went on a Friday afternoon it was fairly quiet. Food and service were both good. Emailed before hand to ask for a slight change in the sandwiches which they did.

    Pleasant setting, but 2 small finger sandwiches each. Asked for more sandwiches, and we were charged £18 for the privilege! Usually not charged extra for this in other venues. Service was poor- had to get up to find someone for a refill of tea. Scones were lovely, brownies a little dry and quiche had the typical soggy bottom! Not brilliant for £118 for 4 people- no alcohol consumed. Will visit other venues in the future, would not recommend to others.

    Specifically asked for no Smoked Salmon sandwiches but my husband still got one. When I booked I put NO SMOKED SALMON in capitals on the booking sheet, server said, oh I only thought it was you that didn’t want it !!!! Only 2 finger sandwiches per person. 1 sandwich was Ham & whole grain mustard, the mustard had been spread on both sides of the bread, basically it was a mustard sandwich with a little piece of Ham in it. The other was tomato, lettuce and maybe some thinly spread cream cheese, sandwich was very soggy. Served with Quiche & what only looked like a stale had piece of French stick, smothered in sweet pickle with a cherry tomato cut in 2 on the top. Asked for more hot water to top the tea pot up, didn’t arrive.

    We we t for my Mums birthday treat and had a very special afternoon. The best afternoon tea we have had! We sat outside with a G & T first and went into the lounge area to a cosy table in the corner. The service was excellent, attentive but not over- powering. The food, well, it was divine! This is a full afternoon tea, sandwiches, quiche, savoury scone then onto the sweet layer. Two more scones (all warm and beautifully fresh), cheesecake (this was sublime, so light and mousse-like), lemon tart and a brownie. We weren’t rushed at all, and had a lovely leisurely afternoon. We will most definitely be back! Thank you Burley Manor.

    Great to have a vegan option, and although a couple of items were duplicated, it didn't detract. Sandwiches, scones, cakes + vegan cream all v tasty. Just about the right amount for me, though my (smaller) partner couldn't finish hers. Lovely setting - quite relaxed and not too formal despite the setting. Staff great. Would happily return

    My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea, the food was very tasty, it’s a lovely setting and in particular both the serving staff and the receptionist we dealt with gave excellent warm service.

    The tea room was lovely and bright. The furniture was comfortable and ambience was fantastic. The staff were welcoming, warm and attentive. The savory and sweets were both excellent. They also let doggies in!

    We only got 2 small finger sandwiches Which for my point wasn’t enough You have too many scones 2 cheese 2 fruit and 2 plain And cakes And a small bit of quiche Maybe ditch the cheese scone or quiche and add more sandwiches Not one person checked us Had to find a person for a drink Which wasn’t acceptable

    We had four dietary requirements and when they brought out the food, they forgot to tell us which food was for which. There was also no explanation anywhere of what each of the items was. The food was generally good, although not as high quality as expected given the location.

    The best afternoon tea that I’ve had. The variety and standard of the food was absolutely great and the location was lovely. The only slight downside was that the service could have been a bit better... We weren’t greeted, were not offered or shown where we could access glasses of water and we weren’t told where we needed to pay. Also a service charge was added, making the overall price quite expensive! Apart from that we all enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back again!

    Afternoon tea at Burley manor, the ambiance is just lovely, very relaxing. we could not fault the food and presentation, the service was good too, my only gripe and this is not just Burley but most hotels, why are drinks so expensive ! a gin and tonic and half a pint £15-50 ! but overall well done Burley Manor.

    I was really disappointed- we’ve stayed here and we’ve had tea at a sister hotel, the Forest Lodge which was excellent! The food was ok - the menu wasn’t up to date with what arrived but I really felt the service was poor. We were left in the lounge and had to get up and go to reception to ask for additional things.

    Excellent surroundings for a birthday celebration, food was great, didn't seem to be a lot of food however it was sufficient. Lots of different taste options from the norm. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.
