Servers were not attentive. They did not check on us until we had nearly finished teh meal. No on came to re- fill our pots with hot water. One server dropped a fork on my lap as he was cleaning the table. Food was mediocre at best. Roast beef sandwich was stale and the beef was not well prepared. Salmon presentation was nice but not enjoyable to eat.
I really liked the food, especially the sweet level on the top. It was a very pretty place and fancy.
I strongly prefer the seats by the gardens versus the interior of the restaurant. Table spacing was okay, but might benefit from a little more distance. To take it up a notch, consider introducing live music.
Afternoon tea was such a wonderful way to celebrate my grandmas birthday! She absolutely loved it. The food, service and ambience were excellent. We will definitely be back again!
The high tea was delightful. Highly recommend for a quiet leisurely afternoon.
Because of traffic coming from Barrie, three of us were late getting there. It didn't seem to be a problem for you and we enjoyed our time together. The service was excellent.
Our high tea was not as accepted. The sandwiches were stale. We felt rushed by the servers and a few teas on the menu - that we wanted - were not available. We had anticipated the tea was going to be in the gardens but it was in an old room with no music or ambience. We wasted our money and I would not recommend it to anyone.
I was able to get a custom vegan menu which was delightful!
They accept online bookings, and both the website and voicemail indicates open to serve tea on the patio. When arrived, unpleasantly surprised to learn closed.
The ambiance was great and the distancing very well planned out between tables. Highly recommend.
Place wasn’t memorable wouldn’t go back.
The Old Mill is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed afternoon tea and the staff was very professional. The place was very clean.
The food and tea were excellent, as was the service. For the price, it does not seem to be good value. We had a great time.
Beautiful restaurant, great servers. We enjoyed our time at old mill because of its atmosphere and history. Afternoon tea was wonderful, enjoyed the vegan menu. Especially the scones.
Amazing. The tea is perfect, the food is perfect, and they also strictly followed COVID protocols.
Hello, Thank you for joining us for Afternoon Tea. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your visit with us. We hope to welcome you back soon. Thank you OMT Guest Services
My experience on August 29th wasn't exactly up to par with my previous Afternoon Tea experiences at The Old Mill. Initially a couple was seated less than 6 feet away at the table right next to us in the inner room. They kindly asked to be moved to another table which was further away. We didn't receive the 3 tier serving stand which made the presentation less impressive. Twice the waiters tried to take my plate when I hadn't finished eating which made me feel rushed while eating & chatting. Notably this was only 45 minutes into our 2 hour tea so I'm unsure as to why they were rushing. Also they were moving table to table touching & refilling the teapots with hot water without changing their gloves. It would be safer if 1 server attended to a few tables table for the tea instead of 2 - 3 servers per table.

The food was great but the background music did not suit the event. Perhaps some quiet Pino music would suit better. However had a great time!

I have had many afternoon teas around the world , I would consider myself an expert the food quality was not that good the dessert were cold which told me they had them in a fridge and they were not tasty.
to be honest I left and went home to eat they need to focus more on their savory rather than so many not so good desserts.

Great afternoon out with some friends. Kind of expensive but we all left full and some weren't able to finish everything provided.
We had a wonderful, relaxing afternoon visit, thanks to afternoon tea. That was all lovely, thank you!
Nice ambiance for afternoon tea and we had great service. Sandwiches were average, not a lot of flavour. Scones were tasty with clotted cream and jam.
I booked in advance and was hoping to get a seat in the terrace but was not allowed to. People came after us and got seats and they were at first going to sit them close to where we were.
The location was beautiful. The price however, it did not seem worth it. The options were limited, and food felt stale- bread was hard and dry, macarons were soft, the meringue was sticky.
The scones were delicious though.
Basic high tea. Nothing outstanding that has me wanting to rush back . But, it’s good value if you’re wanting to try high tea.
It’s pricey but it’s a lovely experience and I will definitely be back.
Food was great! Very tasty! The restaurant was clean and tables were set up nicely. The only thing I didn’t like was that the tables are close to one another and you can almost touch your neighbour table.
The waitress didn’t bring milk and honey for our tea until we asked and she didn’t give us any jam either... she only refilled the hot water once and no other services at all. The food was ok, nothing special comparing to other high tea places.
Tea at the Old Mill is overall nice. Each diner gets to select a tea and there is an assortment of sandwiches, scones, and sweets presented on a tower. The scones and sweets were terrific, but the sandwiches were not especially flavorful or creative. I view afternoon tea as a splurge occasion, and more can be done to ensure that the full experience and ambience is a bit more premium. The waiters seem harried and and rushed despite there not being many tables in the dining room.
Afternoon tea with my daughters
Went for the nutcracker themed tea but there was literally nothing nutcracker or even Christmas/holiday about it besides one dessert that had a Christmas tree meringue on it. Disappointed and definitely not enough food/condiments or variety. Pretty disappointed overall
The tea was served in a room on the second floor not the usual location off the main dining room. My mother has a walker which they were aware of and we had to take 2 service elevators and walk through 2 kitchens to get to the room. It was very difficult and walking through the kitchens was not pleasant. I would have made a different choice if I had know the location. I think staff could have mentioned this when they confirmed our reservation. Food was dry and service was rushed as they on,ynhad 2 servers for the room certainly not worth $90.
Great Christmas tea! Food wasn't too heavy and complimented the teas nicely. Gluten free options were really great as well.
Food was nice and atmosphere was lovely - the service was a bit slow but really enjoyable to have an afternoon high tea.
Two friends and I plan our tea at the Old Mill every year - it's tradition. This year it seemed that it was the best ever. We had a lovely table in a different room. Our server was friendly, efficient and very personable. We think that the food has improved; I do not recall the lemon twists on the smoked salmon sandwiches. The tea choices were also extensive.
I took home some of the leftovers, which we could not finish, and my husband was quite appreciative.
Again, this tradition is very important to us and we will certainly carry it on next year.
Lovely ambience at Old Mill and a great price for afternoon tea. Real clotted cream (although very small portion). I do wish they used loose leaf rather than the tea bags. Scones were great and desserts were delicious. Had a lovely time and was very pleased with the complimentary mimosas too! A very pleasant afternoon.
The best Gluten-Free High Tea in Toronto. Thanks Old Moll!!
This is the second time I’ve done afternoon tea here on a Sunday. Food & tea is 5 stars. You have 12 teas to pick from some caffeinated, others caffeine free. They set you up with your own teapot which is enough to fill your mug at least twice and they go around and offer more hot water too. It’s better than nice places I’ve been to in the UK. Just know that you don’t always get seated right away and it can be crowded in the lobby area when you are waiting for a table. Didn’t bother me. Many people like to dress up nice as well which you don’t have to (minimum is smart casual) but it’s fun. Both times we took about 1 and a half hours but you have up to two hours which is plenty of time. It’s great for celebrating birthdays and other special events. Just reserve in advance because they book up.
We had an excellent experience. The quality of the food and service was great. The staff were friendly and hospitable. The ambiance was very inviting and gorgeous. I would definitely return.
