We have hand picked 12 new signature Sloane teas that we think best represent our English roots and that compliment our brand new scrumptious Tea menu.

My friend and I really enjoyed the Nutcracker Afternoon Tea. It was such a treat. The Old Mill is a beautiful old building to walk around in. Each room has a unique look and feel. Some have fireplaces, windows to a garden, arches, large mirrors, woodwork, large pictures and warm lighting. We enjoyed walking around the outside and looking at the stone and architecture. The room that we had our tea in was full of pictures and decorated with a candy theme. The staff were very friendly and did all they could to serve you. The food was amazing. Everything had its own taste and you could take it home if you couldn’t finish it. Its presentation was a piece of art as well. Wonderful variety of tea. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We are both in our 50’s but we saw children enjoying their tea time too with hot chocolate choices. It definitely felt like a step back in time and a nice change from what we usually see. You could take a walk along the water that runs beside it. You do have to pay for additional parking across from the building. Weddings, private events and Christmas parties were all happening too but you didn’t feel that the place was crowded. The staff can accommodate food concerns and accessibility challenges. Definitely unique and fun experience.

Nutcracker afternoon tea was just lovely. Delicious food, great selection of tea and a festive atmosphere. Really enjoyed the entire experience and would recommend this to everyone. Left feeling full.

sadly we were underwhelmed this time at the Old mill...we were in the print room which was not as nice as the main lounge. The food was good though, the scones were out standing.

The ambiance was cozy, and the afternoon tea was excellent quality with lovely trays of desserts and sandwiches. We were seated promptly, and never felt rushed.

The Nutcracker Afternoon Tea was a great success! The room was decorated beautifully and tables were well organized and elegantly set. The food offerings were the best I’ve had at any of the many Old Mill Afternoon Teas I’ve attended over the past 35 years. The service by Lionel, our server, was wonderful. He was friendly and accommodating but not intrusive in any way. Please consider incorporating all of the savoury items including both scones on your regular tea menu. These two tiers were my favourites. I wouldn’t change a thing! Congratulations and well done. My friends and I will surely be returning soon!! Thanks to all at The Old Mill for our lovely afternoon!

It was my first time at the Old Mill's Nutcracker Festive Tea Party. Everything was top notch! The Christmas decorations, the friendly and efficient staff,and the quality of the food. I will come again next year!

It was a memorable experience with my longtime bestie We would have preferred Xmas decor but the flower theme was pretty and some Xmas music could only other peoples conversations All in all very nice afternoon I would recommend nicely organized

I would have liked to sit in the 'flower room' and see the Christmas tree lit up outside but I didn't realize that there were different rooms when I booked. The Print Room was warmer I have to say but not as pretty.

The Old Mill is a gorgeous venue. I have been here several times and hosted an event myself. However this was my first time for high tea. It was disappointing. The pomegranate mimosas we ordered were flat and warm... the salmon was nice but the bread was stale. The biscuits were fresh but all the sweets were also stale, hard or lacked flavour. It was quite dark in the room. It was decorated beautifully. Our server took a long time to bring the bill when requested. The entire experience lacked luster. Will not be returning.

I had a very lovely time with my mom and sisters at the Old Mill Nutcracker themed afternoon tea. I will definitely add this to my annual Christmas activity. The atmosphere and service was perfect.

Had a great celebration of my Mom’s 90th. Festive ambience with the Nutcracker theme and decorations. We didn’t eat lunch before so that we could enjoy all of the treats. A nice variety of baking and eats. They went the extra mile to provide a nice birthday dessert plate, which was appreciated. Parking was a bit confusing. Google maps took us to one entrance (ended up being third floor), which was around the corner from the paid parking and the entrance to the Tea Room. It is a bit of a maze inside, if you don’t go through the right entrance. My parents ended up taking a kitchen elevator.

This is my go to for afternoon tea or high tea as most people refer to it. I highly recommend the Old Mill for the experience it's perfect for girlfriends or couples for celebrations etc, it's a wonderful time. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were so tasty and delicious. The Presentation was very appealing.

I overheard the lack of staffing issues and understand the stress placed on our server had our experience be less attentive than I could have desired or that I experienced at other Afternoon tea's. This did not detract from the overall experience but did lead to my questioning why there were so many front desk people who did not assist on assuring guests were made to feel individually taken care of and cared for with the awareness of 'staffing issues'. Wait individual staff did a great job with how many tables they had. As a former wait person myself, banquet manager and supporter of team work the obvious awkwardness and lack of assistance inclusive of wait staff carrying many food towers at the same time and having to walk between tables, place them onto crowed tables without support literally accidents waiting to happen was interesting. Is there a 'reason' front desk persons could not provide assistance to wait staff and guests to enrich the experience of Afternoon Tea and assist in preventing possible 'accidents'? Under current staff separation of duties it would only take 1 guest standing up, a cane or walker sliding on the floor or someone looking not where they were going for a potentially serious accident.

While the service was very pleasant, we didn’t get our tea until after 3:30 which was a bit of a long wait. We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. As a personal preference, I would have like the more traditional colourful tea cups rather than the all white dishes. Thank you. Monica

We were so excited to attend this Halloween themed afternoon tea and were a little disappointed at the overall experience. There was no single thing that was terrible, just lots little things that put together made it not worth the money. Sandwiches were stale on top and super soggy on the bottom, tea pot handles were scalding hot, no cream with the scones, just butter, musty smell in the room, relatively small selection of tea, also a small amount of food compared to every other afternoon tea I’ve ever had, and no special menu or options for kids, which seems like quite an oversight given how many kids were there. Also, for music they were playing the same sound effects track on a loop, so it repeated dozens of times which was maddening. It takes 5 minutes to find a thematic playlist and press “play!” It felt like a cash grab rather than providing a quality experience. Spent $140 for one adult and one child. Our server was very nice, though. Really sweet.

Parking was confusing. Better signage from Old Mill needed. Arrived from west & did not see underground parking option. Used ground parking j Adjacent to Inn where sign indicated parking for Inn. Guests. Did not realize needed to pay. Again better signage needed. We came out from lovely event to a hefty $50 parking ticket. Not a treat & definitely a tricky situation & misleading at the least.

Cream for the scones was off - tasted sour and sour smell. The waitress confirmed the sour smell. On my way out I mentioned it to the manager but she seemed disinterested or perhaps not believing me. She did not acknowledge my complaint and simply responded by describing the contents of the cream, the brand, and where it was important from. I wasn't disputing that so her response was confusing. Also, when we informed the waitress that we had no sugar nor milk for our tea, she proceeded to serve are group and another table even though we were the first table to be seated and had already received our pots of tea. I noticed that both the other tables had their tea, milk and sugar. So we had to wait when we could at least have been enjoying a cup of tea. The waitress appeared tired.

Ambience - could have used music. Could have an area to hang coats bc everyone's jacket was in our photos. Service - there was no follow up at all after food arrived. We needed hot water refills for the teas. There was noone who went around to check if we needed anything within 30-40 min intervals. The man just briefly scanned the room from afar and missed my hand 2 times. Food- biggest disappointment was that there was no clotted cream and regular raisin scones. The black currant scones were so sweet that we just didnt even use the jams. The herby savoury scone was like a cheese biscuit. The sandwiches were not particularly good. I dont like mini burger sandwich at afternoon tea. Whatever happened to smoked salmon? Cucumber sandwiches? Egg salad? None of the desserts were good. They were too sweet. Traditionally, they serve light tea cakes or jam cakes, tea cookies, fruit or buttertarts and macarons for dessert at english afternoon tea. We had a plate of berries? That was weird. And really really sugary and icing filled desserts. The icing ruined the macaron. I did not like any of those chocolate desserts. But despite my criticism, I love that the staff there are so friendly and the Old Mill is always a favorite place of mine since I was a child. I just wish they had a more traditional food selection, and perhaps even the dishes could be a bit more like tea time instead plain white hotel coffee/tea cups. I would definitely pay more for the REAL traditional experience.

Beautiful Decor, we were running late and the hostess was more than accommodating. She reassured us that it would all be ok. Had a wonderful time with my partner, the food was great We had the vegetarian selection and the fig chaux dessert and scones were heavenly.

They've raised the bar at The Old Mill. The sunroom is a fantastic location. The scones were flavourful and feather light. Hands down tho, the coronation sandwiches 💯

Our server was extremely unattentive - she would stand off to the side and not look at our table - after waving at her she would still not come so I would have to speak up to get her attention - then interrupting the other tables, multiple times - including about 10 mins after we had been sitting there with empty dishes stacked at the side of our table while we waited for the the bill - when she came and gave the table beside us their bill and took their payment - she just walked right by us. The tea pots are basically a 1.5 cup pot, with a lot of tea - so the first cup was far too strong even though I poured it as soon as it was set down. It's disappointing that they used standard restaurant cups, pots, cutlery etc at this event. It's so easy to find a variety of nice tea cups and pots so for this to look so basic was disappointing. Food was lovely.
