A longstanding tradition at Hotel Vancouver, Notch8 is delighted to welcome guests for Afternoon Tea service from Thursday to Sunday!

If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children's Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is served from Thursday to Sunday only.

We are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.

There is a 90 minute time limit for each reservation, if you have any questions or concerns prior to your visit please let us know.

    The High Tea theme was lovely, really great tea selection and the themed treats were really good and it came with a great assortment! They have set up the space nicely for the winter/holiday theme, really cute. What I didn't enjoy is how we felt while there, we were the only ones for the time slot, apparently the others cancelled, so because of that the servers decided to start setting up for a private event happening later that evening, rather than waiting for us to finish our setting. They were moving tables and chairs, setting the tables, dropping things, ultimately this made us feel like we were in their way and shouldn't be there, we could feel them waiting for us to leave so they could finish the set up which really made for an uncomfortable experience. I know there is a time limit but they started all of this 40 minutes into our sitting. For the $275 we paid, I would say it was definitely overpriced for the experience we got. Would have been better if they'd have moved us in the main restaurant so it wasn't so awkward!

    The setting was lovely and the surroundings rustic with lovely china place settings, felt very luxurious. The Servers were professionals and their service was exemplary. The tea selection was original but I like my Earl Gray so that’s what I ordered and it was lovely. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had and the desserts were unique and delicious. There was a good selection of sandwiches and I particularly liked the presentation and taste of the smoked salmon. The sandwich bread could have been fresher. It was a little dry and the ham sandwich tasted good but was very dry. The mousse tart was very strong tasting, even for someone who enjoys liver. I could not eat it. I hope someone appreciated it or if they are all coming back with only a bite out of them maybe they should be replaced with something else. We found the price to be quite high and parking really expensive. I would suggest this special tea include a reduced parking rate. However, we are talking about a special and unique experience here. And at the Hotel Vancouver. Well worth it in my opinion!

    Absolutely fabulous experience overall! Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is always in my top 2 for favorite high tea places. Always feels so special, excellent customer service, delicious food and certainly gives you large portions of everything. Especially love the revolving themes! Such a lovely experience, I would recommend for any special occassion or just to celebrate friendship!

    What a wonderful experience. The separate dining space was decorated like an intimate ski chalet, the food and tea were delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a wonderful way to celebrate a winter birthday or start the Christmas season.

    Christmas treats were amazing! I’m craving the candy cane macaron and the tree desert still! And we loved the cozy cabin decorated tea room. The scones are always the best. And savouries were delicious except the liver tart but that’s just my picky palette. One thing I noticed a few days later is, I think the Christmas blend tea and the spice bazaar tea from the previous theme “autumn harvest” are the same teas! I only think this because I was trying to order both teas on the fairmont website for my mom for Christmas since we loved it so much, and noticed the description is the same for both teas just different words pulled from it, and we both recalled it tasting very similar. If that’s the case, I recommend adding it to the regular tea menu and calling it one name so frequent patrons can just order it, since it’s the best one (aside from the lavender earl grey,) instead of thinking it’s a cool new themed tea that’s been added. Also, the cocktails were tasty! We had the chai mocha martini and lavender Earl grey sour. One slight thing was the lavender drink had a single sprig of lavender in the Instagram influencer reels which added such a cute addition to the drink! In person it didn’t come with it. I think it came with a Cherry or berry on a stick. It was listed as $16 but the bill was 18, noticed that after but not a huge factor. To some it might be annoying. Anywho hope this review helps people choosing which Christmas tea to go to! There are so many to choose from this season!

    Afternoon tea was delightful and included old favorites (the best scones I have ever tasted) as well as new seasonal holiday treats. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend having tea at the Vancouver Fairmont Hotel!

    I booked two months in advance to make sure my son and I were able to enjoy the Fall tea service. This was our second time coming and we expected it to be just as enjoyable as the first. We arrived at our designated time of 3:00pm and were asked by the hostess to wait 5 min. for the service to be prepared. Waiting 15 min. a separate hostess asked if we have been helped and again had to confirm our reservation. Another 5 min. a third hostess came by and asked the same thing. In total, we waited for 35min. before getting extremely frustrated and had to ask a fourth hostess when we'd be seated. Looking at her tablet, she had a confused look on her face and said, "It looks like you've already been seated". Ummm...apparently not as I was standing right there!! She finally brought us to the room where they have the afternoon tea and we were the LAST to be seated. Very disorganized!! Not pleased. We finally were able to be served, which the server was amazing. Food was good and got to enjoy my time with my son. Overall, the front staff weren't the greatest but we enjoyed the afternoon tea service.

    My daughter in law and I had a fantastic time, all service staff were very attentive and kind. Food was excellent as well, so much so that we would like to enquire about the Christmas tea. How many can you seat at a sitting.

    I had booked a table for two, and at the last minute, an extra guest showed up. Maribel did her best to add the guest to my table. She collaborated with the wait staff, Steve and Serge, to ensure there was an sufficient food for an extra person, and that we could be all seated and served high tea together. I normally never give a 5/5 rating. These three employees totally deserve it. Thank you!!!

    Service is attentive as always. Food this time was fairly disappointing as it felt in general, a bit stale and dry for the most part. I came to the Cherry Blossom themed one earlier in the year, The decor was truly amazing and had that wow factor. For this theme, I felt underwhelmed but fairly regular fall decors.

    A very nice experience, the server was excellent and very accommodating regarding food substitutions, etc. Nice variety of sandwiches and treats, and delicious scones. Everything served with proper English bone china, which was nice. A bit pricey at $69 per person, considering you only get one savoury piece of each selection (some afternoon teas give you 2 each), but since it's in a higher end hotel that would explain the price difference. Good for special occasions.

    1.5 hours is not enough time for high tea. Average is 2 hours. With how much food you are given that’s definitely not enough time to enjoy everything. They don’t tell you when they seat you how long you have which is also standard for high tea places to let you know before you start. There were people around us who were surprised when the waiter started handing out to go boxes. The food wasn’t anything excited, different or that tasty. I would prefer smaller portions that have better flavour and high quality. Scones are too big or there is too many. Traditionally that’s where you start and then work your way up. We couldn’t finish the scones or we would have been too full. The flavours for most of the desserts was the same heavy cinnamon flavour so nothing special. There was a sweet missing from our tray and the waiter brought the wrong replacement. We did eventually get the right one. Watched a b-day cake be brought to the wrong table. Baby screaming loudly. Least favourite in Van

    Please call the Banff spring fairmount and talk to chef Braden. He did an AMAZING three tier for me and it meet all my dietary requests. Vancouver downtown is lacking. My server walked by three times before refilling hot water and only checked on me once. It was my actual day of birth and I did not get a birthday acknowledgement at all. Very sad experience.

    We visited Vancouver six weeks ago and enjoyed an Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont. It was such a pleasant experience that this week when we had another day in Vancouver and went back again. Imagine our surprise to see the place decorated entirely different. I suppose the title of Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea should’ve given us a clue, but I mean…. It was completely different. Different menu and different teas selection, too. The new atmosphere was absolutely perfect for a misty October fall afternoon tea. The scones, the savory platter and the sweets platter were delicious, and each gave lovely nods to autumn. We tried a couple different tea selections, and were pleased. Our server did a great job of introducing the food and suggesting complementary teas. Now that we know Notch8 routinely seasonally changes the decor and menu for afternoon tea, we may find excuses to come back again and again.

    This was my first afternoon tea experience so my expectations were very high! It’s not that anything was bad but it was not the quality I was looking for especially with the tea!!! Very average for loose leaf tea. Tasted more like regular tea bags. As much hot water as I wanted but never the offer to refresh the tea bag and hot water out of a thermos is not really hot water. We requested lactose free weeks in advance so again I expected the same menu with lactose free ingredients but our food was completely different than the menu. Not bad but not special either!

    My bestie and I loved the Harvest afternoon tea experience. From the moment the hostess walked us to the back and down the stairs, the smells of the fall pumpkin spices hit and we were seated in this beautifully decorated room. Very cozy, warm welcoming with some laughs with our waiter. The big pots of tea were endless (we had the lavender earl grey), beautiful table wear, delicious sweets and savory bites (our waiter even snuck a few extra pieces on our tier) and I would recommend this experience 100%!!
