A longstanding tradition at Hotel Vancouver, Notch8 is delighted to welcome guests for Afternoon Tea service from Thursday to Sunday!

If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children's Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is served from Thursday to Sunday only.

We are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.

There is a 90 minute time limit for each reservation, if you have any questions or concerns prior to your visit please let us know.

This limited time tea service gives guests a unique opportunity to see the city from a different perspective while enjoying a spot of tea in an untraditional setting. Available Monday through Friday with seatings at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. $120.00 per person (price is exclusive of tax and gratuity)

    The service was slow although the servers were very attentive. There were just too many tables for 2 servers to manage. The room was brightly decorated but without windows, it still felt like a dark uninviting basement. There was only 1 bathroom inside the entire restaurant and it was inconvenient to go outside the lobby and then down to the hotel basement level to find the bathrooms. Overall, we had better high tea experience in other Fairmount hotels. Would not return.

    Afternoon Tea at the Hotel Vancouver is always amazing. Everything is delicious and unique. And it's easy to see a huge amount of work goes into the dishes. This is a real, honest afternoon tea. It truly puts Victoria's Tea at the Empress to shame - on price and quality.

    The food representation and the services were wonderful. However, the cakes were a bit too sweet for my taste, but for those who really enjoy super sweet cakes, it's definitely a good place to try. Price wise, it's on the high end, but it's inside of Fairmont Hotel, so it should be considered normal with that kind of price range.

    I frequent the Hotel Vancouver Afternoon Tea because my mother really enjoys it. I have to say I was disappointed by the pop art theme that’s going on currently. The design of the room made it feel too basement-like. (When they embrace the cozy library aesthetic it’s not as obvious you’re in a tiny windowless room.) Also the food was just way below par this time around. Several of the savoury items were off tasting…and there was only one dessert that was worthwhile. Things didn’t taste very fresh. The service is always great but I was definitely disappointed with the lack of ambience and food quality I’m used to there.

    I always love the afternoon teas for the experience! The food this time was a little odd - burger was great, but there was a sand which that looked like spam and the “mushroom ravioli” was flat and dry. Scones were amazing as always and a good selection of desserts!

    The Tea in the Window was such a fun experience. People in the street were interacting with us and it was unlike any dining experience we've ever had. The Fairmont was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions and our server Adrian was very kind and attentive. I'd highly recommend this to anyone!

    So the environment is definitely NOT what you’d expect for high tea but nicely different -kind of andy warhol meets Licktenstein in a room with no windows. Felt a bit like a Cavern. Still had beautiful teapot & service but the food was a little disappointing -baked ravioli was tasteless, smash burger just seemed out of context, desserts were attractive but nothing was so good that i had to finish it. The scones were good but missed the lemon curd. Choice of teas was appreciated.

    The room was beautiful! Great ambiance. However we were disappointed with the food. The bread on the sandwiches was stale. The ravioli was dry. The scones were delicious but everything else wasn’t memorable. For the price, it was not worth it. Also, this wasn’t out first afternoon tea. We’ve had better for way less.

    The experience was nothing like how the description read - it was so disappointing and literally felt like a scam. Tomato soup is a tiny pastry that has something ‘red’ on the top - one only and horrible tasting. The slider was so tiny and overcooked - it was absolutely flavorless. Ravioli was a hardened ravioli with dried mushrooms inside - literally one small bite. Same with pumpkin - didn’t it eat. Didn’t eat most of it and 3 out of 4 of us felt ill when we left. Would never go back - horrible!!

    I’ve dined here before and really enjoyed the menu. This time, however, our group was disappointed with the poor quality of the food. Overall, dry and not fresh. It seemed like the kitchen was prioritizing colour over quality/flavour with their latest theme. Will think twice before booking here again.

    Our afternoon tea at the Fairmont was amazing - food and service were excellent and made for a truly wonderful experience. The only low point was the seasonal decor. Ladies do afternoon tea at the Fairmont for its elegant and peaceful setting. The current decor/colour scheme was a bit jarring and not in keeping with our expectation. Contrasted badly when compared to the beautiful Japanese theme of the afternoon tea for cherry blossom festival. Now that that was superb.

    I wish that half the amount of sugar was put into the ever so sweet sweets. The savoury was great. It is too bad that the place was understaffed and our table was kept waiting - tea was lukewarm by the time the trays of food were placed on the table. For the first class price that is charged, I expect first class service, but it was lacking (no fault of the lone waiter). The ambiance was well done and we were grateful to have goodie bags for the uneaten portions

    I have been to many different afternoon tea venues and I must say I was expecting more from Notch 8 at the Fairmont. I ordered the lavender Earl Grey tea and I could not taste the lavender at all. The tea was very weak even after it was steeped awhile. As for the serving stand of food, the presentation of the food was not impressive… one scone was upside down and one cheesecake piece had an uneven top (something that should not have been served to a customer). The only items that were tasty were a couple of the savoury items and the scones. We had to pack up the sweet items as we were full after eating the savoury items and the scones but ended up throwing them out at home as they weren’t very good. Although we were not impressed with the tea (not worth $75), the service made up for it or I would have scored the overall score lower. Our server was courteous and very friendly. He even brought out a birthday cake to my daughter which was a nice touch and the birthday cake according to my daughter was delicious.

    Good,amount of food and nice variety. Waiter was charming and knowledgeable. Not really worth $75 though. Good for the experience once, but I would not pay that again.

    The staff was fantastic. The food was very disappointing, beyond anything I would’ve expected from Fairmont which is meant to be a classic. The bread on the sandwich was stale and harder on edges as if it had been sitting for a while after being cut. We couldn’t tell the difference between ham and tuna and both had this old eggy taste. Desserts were old and just really stale. Presentation and atmosphere was fantastic. I’d skip this place the next time I’m in Vancouver :(

    The table smelled like a dirty wet cloth so I had to clean it with the hand sanitizer. The place was too loud to talk and the setting was not suitable for having high-tea , however the servers were very friendly and helpful and love the tea they served !

    Great afternoon tea! The waiter was excellent. The food was uniquely prepared for the occasion. It was delicious, especially the scones and cream and the lemon tarts.
