   Mothers Day lunch- party of 7 & I made reservations so we could be seated immediately - walked in & they were 2 servers short so we had to wait 15 min. For our table. When we were finally seated- took another 15 min to be given waters and chips. The server was apologetic and did his very best, but it seems the kitchen staff was short too- the food was all delicious, but we ended up wrapping up a “quick” lunch in 2 hours. The ambiance is beautiful, unfortunately it was overshadowed by the many grasshoppers inside around d the window and our table.

   Margaritas were delicious, food was fine but nothing to write home about, service was friendly but not great. We ordered 4 apps so we could try several different things. Recognizing we were at a very small 2-top, we asked for the dishes to be paced out. They were not. Everything came at once and the table was completely crammed. Not the end of the world, but it made the meal uncomfortable. Then when we were done our waitress cleared the table and disappeared. It took 40 minutes to settle the tab and leave! No need to go back there.

   Worst service Ive ever had. We sat at an almost empty bar with only 4 seated tables in the restaurant and it took over 20 min just to be acknowledged. It only got worse from there.

   We had a wonderful time! Our server was great and entertaining! They didn’t give us a hard time as 2 of our friends were running a little late. Good and drinks were outstanding! Definitely would go again!

   Our server was fantastic. She was friendly and upbeat. Had lots of suggestions on the menu. Chips, salsa, bean dip and guacamole were great! However, two of the dishes came out cold.

   Agave Del Scottsdale could be the neighborhood go to place. The bar is huge. It's a shame ownership won't bite the bullet and get two bartenders. The place could be full all the time but waiting for 15 minutes for drinks won't cut it. It's frustrating because the margaritas are the best in the area. The food is creative and very good but there is simply not enough help. The waitstaff has no support. No one to bus tables or fill water glasses. The last question for a review on Open Table is "Would you recommend Agave Del Scottsdale to a friend?" Yes, with the warning that they will need to be in the mindset to wait seemingly forever for drinks and will need to put up with no water refills.

   My husband and I went to Agave at dinner hour. We are from out of town and found the outside patio delightful. The margaritas were a bit small. We actually had to order two which is not usually our norm. The enchiladas were very tasty as well as our guacamole appetizer. Price was reasonable and service was spot on.     Went when you first opened on a saturday at noon. We were the only people there the whole time expect for the workers. Great looking place. Queso was very oily, al pastor tacos were okay, but the drinks were fabulous. Hopefully we will come again when it is a little busier

    This has become our favorite Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale! The chef is inspired by the flavors and foods of Mexico, offering creative and beautifully plated dishes to meet everyone’s pleasure. On this occasion, two of us ordered different takes on halibut and each was flavorful and satisfying. Another guest chose the octopus as an appetizer and enjoyed it so much that we all tasted it, even someone who had never ventured to sample that fish before! We all went back for another taste of it! If you want street food for dinner, you won’t find it here. But if you want the true taste of cuisine from south of the border, Agave will satisfy your needs!

    The restaurant itself was really beautiful and we sat outdoors on the patio, and it was such a nice night. However, the service was not great, for example the waitress told us 4 times she would be bringing chips until we finally asked someone else. I did not get what I ordered(I got chicken instead of seafood enchiladas) and they ran out of 2 of the selections of wine that we wanted, and then did not have any wine glasses and we drank out of a brandy snifter. The food was good, however and I am hoping we just caught them on a bad night. My blackberry margarita, on the other hand was delicious!

    We chose this restaurant because they had a reservation available and our first few choices did not. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised when we walked in! The ambience is elegant and fun, lively, but not too loud. Our server came right out after we were seated, and was attentive throughout the entire meal, I ordered the Seabass which they were out of, but she immediately offered an alternative suggestion that wasn’t even on the menu. We had the chips and guacamole, which were delicious and my mom had the enchiladas Suiza our drinks were great, and looked pretty too! We were too full to try dessert, but I wouldn’t hesitate in the future! All in all, a great dining experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for an upscale, Mexican dining experience.

    We started with excellent margaritas and shrimp ceviche. The traditional chicken mole was rich and flavorful. The pork chops were chewy- I think they should use pork tenderloin instead. The menu is a bit limited.

    Restuarant was open and had a few customers, but there were no employees (1waiter) attempting to take care of the front of the house. Poor staffing and customer service. I did not stay for the meal because I believed the one waiter was overworked and based on the activity in the restaurant, I did not want to take a chance on the quality of the food being poor.

    Drinks and food were very good. The bartender was pleasant, efficient and well versed in cocktails. Unfortunately the hostess service was less than desirable. Reservation, which I had a photo of, said front room table. Arrived early, confirmed table with hostess and asked to go to bar while we waited for our guests prior to 6 pm reservation for 6 people. She indicated that was acceptable then she proceeded to sit all front room tables so when it was time to sit down we had to seat in the back room which is poorly lite. The server they assigned to us did her best but had other tables to cover as well. Please don’t tell customers one thing then do another.

    We arrived early, so the restaurant was quiet at first. The beer and margaritas were so tasty, we enjoyed a few before ordering food. The Chips and dip trio was a nice change from other restaurants and Happy Hour shrimp tacos were amazing. The taco portion was on the small side (3 street tacos), but the shrimp was so fresh and the taco so flavorful that we were not disappointed! Our server was friendly and helpful in suggesting food and drinks. We wouldn't change a thing, other than perhaps asking for slightly lower prices on some of the items.     Guacamole some of the best around. Chips were super crisp but light. Chili rellenos with seafood was amazing. Hand made margaritas were great. Both blackberry and spicy cucumber were great. Never disappoints

    It was our first time digging at Agave Del Scottsdale. While the food was tasty and well priced, the service was poor. We had to ask for water refills four times before our glasses were filled. The service was slow despite the restaurant being primarily empty on a Saturday evening.

    Had to put one stars because you have too. We have never been to this restaurant but menu looked good . Got set at our table and waited and waited and waited….. NO SERVICE SO WE GOT UP AND LEFT so really all I can say is good luck

    Went for Valentine’s Day but it wasn’t mentioned that there was a set menu and you couldnt order anything else. Took us 10-15 minutes to get the drinks we ordered even though they werent very busy and had a set menu so Im not really sure why the service was so slow. Food was good but again I could only chose between 3 entrees so that was disappointing. Seemed like they were trying to be an upscale restaurant but there was a screaming baby next to us and the parents tried to get their food boxed up quickly but again the waitress took over 20 minutes to bring a box and their bill so just overall very strange vibe. My husband and I left saying ya it was okay but probably not going back.

    We ordered the guacamole which goes perfectly with their chips, salsa and bean dip. Excellent cocktails as well. I had the skinny margarita and the veggie enchiladas. Very flavorful and the portions were just right. You didn’t get an overly stuffed plate of beans and lettuce. Love the location too. I would have given 5 stars except the hostess didn’t mark our OpenTable reservation as complete.
