This restaurant is permanently closed. Aggio, situated in a serene space with dark and muted colors, sets the tone for a sublime evening. Enjoy creative Italian food with a modern touch complemented by guidance from our sommelier well-versed in Italian wines.

Chef Voltaggio’s focus at Aggio is on pastas. At Aggio, he takes liberty with creative compositions you won’t find anywhere else, and while imaginative, the food is simply elegant. I booked a work dinner for 9 people, including my boss, only to show up and have the restaurant closed. It was extremely frustrating and embarrassing. I would advise anyone considering this restaurant to confirm by phone. Better yet, take your business elsewhere.

I was there on a quiet night, sat at the kitchen counter, and had an absolutely amazing time. The food is familiar (e.g. melons and prosciutto) but with twists that elevate the experience (e.g. melons compressed and then soaked in the juice to create more flavor). It was a destination night for me during a business trip and I plan to go back when I'm next in town.

I took my boss, his boss and several other colleagues to Aggio in Ashburn tonight and spent close to $800. If you’re going to accept my reservation for 10 people, please staff your restaurant to actually serve us.

Despite being nearly empty, it took 45 minutes to get a first round of drinks. 20 minutes to take the order, 15 more for a hostess/waitress to start making them (because they didn’t want to pay a bartender I guess) and another 10 to make them. Then, at the same time the cocktails came, our appetizers came which is not how we or anyone likes to enjoy our evening. Nobody who knew how to run a restaurant was on duty and it showed.

And no espresso in an Italian restaurant? For shame. Though it may just be that with no staff, nobody knew how to work the machine.

Even though the service delays pretty much ruined my evening and made me look bad in front of my boss, I will say the food was pretty good so I’m guessing when the restaurant is staffed to actually provide service to its guests, it may be an overall good experience.

My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We loved the relaxed, quiet and comfortable atmosphere on a Tuesday evening. The food, drinks and service were great. The waitress was attentive to our needs and knew the menu inside/out as she was able to describe the different Italian dishes. The lasagna and crab risotto are amazing and tasty. The prices are comparable to the area depending what you order. We will definitely be back to try the other Italian dishes and happy hour.

Loved it here! Party of five for Father’s Day, and we loved every aspect—from wines to appetizers to dinner to desserts. Great service! Just a wonderful restaurant that I would like to return to.

We were a party of 9 and they, seated in a somewhat private area with direct view of the kitchen, which in this case, was pretty cool. Because we were in a semi-private area, it was easy to hear conversation at the other end of the table. We shared three appetizers and they were all excellent, including their toasted focaccia bread with two yummy topping options. The pasta is made on site and was very good, as were their cocktails. The waitress seemed a little inexperienced and could have been more attentive, but I recognize a party of 9 can be hard to keep up with. Overall it was excellent and I highly recommend it.

We loved Aggio. The ravioli, octopus, and bread were fantastic. Prices were not $$ - more like $ or $$ - and totally worth the scratch-made menu. We almost didn't come because of some of the negative reviews but are very glad we did. We'll be back.

Im leaving a good review because food was great, drinks great, service great, and we enjoyed dinner very much. Strange thing was that we went on a Saturday night and it was dead in there. We were 1 of maybe 4 tables when we sat down at 7. We were the only table at 9 when we finished. We walked around One Loudoun to check out the other restaurants and bars, most places were busy (some were packed). Not sure what’s going on with this place.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner this past Saturday and had one of the worst Italian meals of our lives. It started with horrible service, it took a long time for our server to come over and take our order. Many tables had just been sat so we tried not to read into it, but the service just continued to remain sub-par. We received our appetizers before our wine bottle had even been opened, in fact I had to ask our server when he delivered our appetizers to open our wine. It then took us a very long time to receive bread (which the server ranted and raved about when he initially approached our table and we said we would like some). The bread was supposed to come with spreads (as per our bill) but we never received any. I wanted bread to sop up the sauce from the appetizer and I had to keep telling the busboy not to clear my plate because I was waiting for the bread. Then our pastas arrived and they tasted as though they were taken straight from the water in which they were boiled, put onto the plate and then sauced, they were so watery. Additionally, one of them was not even served hot (or really warm at all). None of them had any real flavor whatsoever (even though they are homemade and all of the sauces are also homemade). We would have been better off eating at the Olive Garden or Carrabba's (and it would have been cheaper). We've been to Italy and we know good pastas. Based on the fact that the pasta was homemade we thought we were in for a wonderful authentic Italian experience. We'd expected better of a Bryan Voltaggio restaurant and were extremely upset and disappointed that we'd spent our anniversary dinner here. Needless to say we won't be returning for another meal and in fact we will be thinking twice about ever going to another Bryan Voltaggio restaurant.

Food was disappointing. Service was okay - they didn't make us pay for one of the entrees that was terrible, or for the glass of wine when they poured the wrong one.

Not somewhere I will be going back to.

This restaurant was very good and the food was excellent. It is a much appreciated change from the chain restaurant scene that seems to do so well in Loudoun County for some reason. I am not sure why the restaurant was not crowded when we were there - it is probably the best restaurant we've been to in NoVA in years. The only thing missing is the vibrant bar scene, which cannot happen if the crowds do not come. The dishes are creative, fresh and absolutely delicious. The asparagus salad was wonderful, as were the pasta dishes we had. The cocktails are interesting as well. VERY highly recommended for foodies.

Absolutely a horrible experience, which is probably why they had so many open reservations on Mother's Day. Staff looked stressed and was helping the kitchen plate food just to get it out faster. The restaurant was nearly empty and our food took over an hour to be served. They ran out of lasagna earlier in the day which is the only dish I was looking forward to ordering. Settled on the $16 plate of spaghetti that was over-cooked and meatballs that were undercooked. One family walked out in frustration of how long there meal was taking. Poorly run. Poorly managed. Not ever going back or recommending this place to anyone.

This restaurant seems to continually suffer from bad management. The server tried to provide good service but there was a huge disconnect between the kitchen and service. It took over 30 minutes to get our first course which was a cold beet salad. Then they brought the pasta course and one meat course. We sent the meat course back and 10 minutes later both meat courses came while we were eating our pasta course. The previous restaurant had similar problems. The food was good but the overall experience was tainted.

My mother and I had an absolutely amazing meal to celebrate an early Mother's Day. We each ordered off the Prix Fixe menu and were thrilled from start to finish by every bite. This was our third Chef Voltaggio restaurant, having already dined at Volt and Family Meal. It did not disappoint!

The meatballs were amazing! Pasta was fresh. Service was wonderful. Great for an evening out not a quick bite. Food did take awhile since everything is made to order. We went with a group of friends so it was a great pace for socializing. Definitely was an experience not just a meal.

This restaurant used to be called Family Meal, also owned by Brian Voltaggio. I have no idea why FM did not endure, and I’m even more confused as to why Aggio was so quiet on a Friday night. However, I’m definitely coming back for their Happy Hour specials, both inexpensive and so delicious. The decor of Aggio is gorgeous, very cozy and I cannot wait to come back for a ladies night. Our server was so attentive and knowledgeable about all the menu items, and paid special care to safely accommodate us and and our 2 kids with food allergies. Overall, the food tasted so gourmet, and not as heavy as FM, worth every penny!!

The food and the service were very good. Three different entrees all equally enjoyable. The wine list is not as strong as the menu. Expected a couple of good Chianti's, Amarone, Barbaresco or something similar. Not to be had. Below average selection in both volume and style.

Food just wasn’t good and was not anything near authentic Italian. It was also very overpriced for what you get. We asked for an espresso at the end of our meal and they don’t serve espresso. What ??!! Italian restaurant without espresso? Not going back. Overpriced and not real Italian.

I went there on Saturday night with 5 other people and we all loved the food and drinks. We ordered a variety of appetizers and each got a meal. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was pretty empty which surprised us since it was so good. Not sure why that is the case?

There were so many one stars for this place we almost didn't try it. (Though we realized most of them were from people who lived in DC.) When a Loudoun restaurant makes a top 100 list we had to see why. Food was very good. Though portions were small for the price. Two small lamb chops is not a rack of lamb. The wine pairings were nice but it would have been nicer if they told us what we were drinking without asking. And even when we asked we got a one-word answer like "merlot." For us, it makes the top three restaurants in Loudoun and we will go back. With a little polish, it can stay on the top 100 list.

Had a very enjoyable dinner at Aggio tonight. Restaurant is beautiful and staff was friendly and efficient. Had two of their handcrafted cocktails along with the yummy bread and spreads to start. Ordered the meatballs with spaghetti and rack of lamb. Both were excellent! It's definitely not your normal Italian food but every dish we've had has been outstanding. Just need to do a better job of promoting their restaurant!

Second visit to Aggio. Food was very good but the service was very very slow on this particular night and it wasn’t too busy. Seems they were short staffed. Regardless, we will return.
