The Brasserie has become synonymous with the North End of Halifax, the region’s most vibrant food destination, serving locally sourced product in an iconic neighborhood.

French inspired food in a stylish and vibrant atmosphere, the Brasserie (est. 2013) focuses on sustainable seafood & ambitious sophisticated cooking where all breads, jams, sauces and desserts are made in house.

Sit on the butcher block bar and enjoy a glass of wine after work, a bar snack, or a full menu during dinner hours. The exposed brick lounge offers a cozy nook for quiet conversation. Further inside the Brasserie is an open kitchen where one can sit at the counter and enjoy the inner workings of the Brasserie culinary operation. Our lively upstairs patio seats 50 and is open during the sunny summer months for cocktails & cuisine.

We welcome you for Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30- 2:30 with a snack menu between 2:30-4pm and we are open 7 days a week, 4pm to close.

Another outstanding meal at the Brasserie. My companion was on a keto diet, so we started by splitting a plant-based version of the pan-fried Brussels sprouts. He said he didn't like B. sprouts, but he fought me to the last sprout! For the main, I opted for the plant-based special. It was a dish of polenta with wild mushrooms and blah blah blah. I didn't hear anything after our server, Laura, said "wild mushrooms"! Delicious, satisfying, lovely presentation and large, frilly, bouncy wild mushrooms to the last bite. The service is always excellent here, which is as important to me at the food. The A. Brasserie remains my go-to for dates, impressing out-of-town visitors, and all occasions. Thanks for being!

Being Covid-cautious, we chose an early weeknight to go. It was not crowded which felt good. Food was magnificent, our server was an absolute delight. Absolutely love coming here. Was especially impressed with the petit fours dessert! Truly stunning (and tasty!)

I was visiting from Toronto for a week and this was by far the best dining experience. Shannon was outstanding! Friendly, attentive service and the food was fantastic. Seafood tower was impressive and the Duck confit pasta was fire!

A lovely evening spent enjoying company of good friends. The food was good although not a lot of tomato free menu items. The steak and frites was a generous portion. Delicious musses and a stellar salad. Salmon was good.

A hidden gem. The street façade does not do the interior justice... the space is unbelievable...bespoke, classic and trendy at the same time. The massive bar and custom iron work make it something special. Menu, small but great, has lots of locally sourced food and the service was stellar. It's one of our go to places!

Music pumping rod Stewart. Needlessly loud. Forcing people to speak over it. When asked server why music so loud, response was that she feels same way “but got in trouble from management last time it was turned down”. 1/3 of the restaurant was full. No one at bar. Absolutely no reason to pound music at 630pm. It seems most rcr restaurants do this to create an atmosphere that seems lively. Result is an unpleasant expensive meal where you need to yell back and forth with your date. Turn the gd music down by half please. Design 360 specifically made choices when they designed the space. Your ceiling, until somewhere like the bicycle thief, won’t make sound reverberate. Just turn it down. Maybe you’ll start a trend in HFX where this doesn’t happen.

Had a reservation for 8 people for a 30th birthday. Requested to be seated somewhere semi-private and it was perfect. Our waitress was extremely friendly, I forget her name but she was awesome! Every course was delicious.

There's something for everyone on this menu. We eat here often and have always had excellent food and service. The Brussel sprout caesar is a must. Even friends who don't eat Brussel sprouts love it. Steak frites, duck and lamb shank are all terrific.

Our server, Annika, was one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere. She was attentive, gave excellent food / drink recommendations, and was supportive of and welcoming with our son who has Intellectual disabilities.
