   Great atmosphere, overall professional dining etiquette, plating was exceptional, menu had a great selection, we had 2 appetizers & 4 entrees. The entrees had a ton of creativity but for the price point they did not blend well together on a plate. Seemed more like a performance of skill than a collaboration of flavors. The wagyu was also more along the lines of a quality filet. Very nice, but didn't take our breath away. Lobster was the best item on the menu.

    My wife and l decided to celebrate Valentine's Day this year at Aiāna. We were informed that they are having only one menu for that evening and we have to pre-pay($145/person) for the whole meal in advance, which we were happy to. The evening started with being seated at a table which was directly by the bar. We were told that we can not switch seating as every table was already booked but there were 3 empty tables when we left. They offered no complimentary bread basket, and straight away it went to the first course, which consisted of three small offerings, one of which was a single oyster for each of us. After these few bites, we waiting for the next course, which was a soup-like concoction that had some truffles inside a baked good in the middle, which was delicious. After this, they went straight to the main meal, which was flavorful, but small in size. (I tried the wagu and my partner had the lobster). This was followed by a dessert plate, which once again comprised of 3 bite-sized sweets. We were hungry when we left - felt that for the price we pre-paid for the meals, there should have been at least 2 more courses.

    My first time eating at Anaia was very positive. I ordered bread and butter and the mushroom toast accompanied by a glass of Italian pinot grigio. The bannock and brioche (the bread and butter) were amazing. The waiting/serving staff were attentive and knowledgeable. I very much look forward to returning.

    C’était notre première fois que nous allions à ce restaurant et tout a été à la hauteur de nos attentes. Un service digne d’un grand restaurant gastronomique. Les plats étaient savoureux, de très belles présentations. Merci beaucoup à toute l’équipe mais particulièrement à Monsieur Robert Lemieux, sommelier, qui a été d’un grand professionnalisme, attentionné envers les convives toute la soirée. Nous avons également fait totalement confiance à Robert pour le choix de notre bouteille de vin, il a visé dans le mille. Une soirée parfaite!

    The decor, the ambiance and atmosphere was great. The food combinations a little less. I also ordered a dessert that was missing ingredients. I would suggest changing the menu or adapting. Overall, it was nice to try but will not be going back. There was also a errors on the menu ... Finally, a bit overpriced in my humble opinion but the service was included.

    This is a very well run restaurant and our choices were delicious although of very modest proportions. We were glad to have ordered the bread basket. I found the service somewhat pretentious. We are unlikely to return as we prefer a more relaxed environment. The prices were very high so that would be another deterrent. However, the food was outstanding and for that I give the chefs kudos. As it was a special occasion they treated us to complementary desserts..a very nice touch.

    Quiet evening with more servers than customers so the service was outstanding. I had the cornish hen which was great. My dinner guest had the sole and loved it. Expect small portions (the meal won't fill you up).

    Overall - ok, food was ok, service was ok. It would be nice for portions to be bigger. The dinner entrees were not what I would call dinner-sized portions. For that reason I won't be returning. No point going out for dinner to a place that is not feeding you a real meal. I felt sticker shock initially but considering the fact that gratuities are included and it is a fine cuisine dining experience, overall it was comparable to what I would have expected to pay in a high end restaurant after tipping. I like the fair wage concept alot. I am a bit sorry that the owners didn't start this concept of fair wages and built-in tips with more regular fare (and meal-sized entrees) as it might have been better to go that route as it would have reached a broader clientele (IMO). I wonder how many people are willing to pay these prices for so little food on the plate. Ottawa is a wealthy city so perhaps this is just fine.
