    Had a good dinner here last night with friends overall it was a great evening. Service was bit slow was the only thing I noticed but they were very busy when we arrived for a 7.00pm reservation.

    Decent room but nothing extraordinary. Proper welcome but a little crowded at the bottom of the stairs with staff and customers congregating in a tight space prior to being seated. Booth seating for a party of six made conversing with those at the ends of the table a bit challenging. Service was very good with attentive staff working well as a team to serve the table and answer our questions. We ordered bread, starters and apps and 4 mains and most of the food was very good with a few standouts: the freshly baked bread, the cucumber salad, the shisito peppers, the braised rib and the grilled chicken. The octopus, which we were all looking forward to was overcooked and tough. Cocktails were good as was the champagne. The wine list was solid with several choices in a reasonable price range which was appreciated. Our server, while very good, was not really that helpful in making proper pairings for our varied plates so we were kind of on our own. Not a big deal, but ... Dessert was excellent with the coconut cream pie a standout. It was sinful! Overall, we had a great evening and all of the staff did their jobs pleasantly and professionally. There were just a few quibbles as noted that stop this from being a 5-star experience.

    Alder is a beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive! My parents are from a small town, this was the perfect place to bring them for an elevated experience that they don’t normally get! My one complaint is that we ordered a final glass of wine after dinner, only to be told shortly after that the reservation after us had arrived and it was time for us to leave. We had to chug our unfinished wine instead of enjoying it. It would have been appreciated to have known we had a limit or been given a 20 minute notice.

    Beautiful space, solid service (although somewhat rushed), good food (clams, hamachi, short ribs were standouts but octopus was tough). Coconut cream pie is a must. Would recommend for the space and vibe but you can certainly find better value and quality elsewhere.

    Went here once and it was stellar- service was a highlight. Wasn’t this time. Food was fine but nothing like the first time - stuff we could have gotten anywhere for half the price. Drinks weren’t as special either. Maybe the first time just had more cachet. Still a nice spot but there’s SO much in that area so won’t return, although the bar scene is nice.

    We loved the pork belly, quiche, & coconut pie. Service was good & friendly but could have been more intuitive. Ambiance was lively, pretty loud live music, and it was a but pricey for brunch for 2 but was expected

    Everything was delicious. Service was attentive and fast. We ate the endive salad, burrata and squash, octopus, lamb and mushrooms. Don’t go without having the coconut cream pie. Perfection.

    The cucumber salad is very sour. The Australian lamb is perfect but the Spinach is too oily. The coconut cream pie is perfect!

    The service from Kevin was outstanding. The food - amazing. Only give a higher noise rating since we were sat next to a loud group of ladies. We didn’t complain, but Kevin recognized that they were on the louder side and gave us the option of moving to another table. We decided to stay put since they were slowly finishing their meal. We will recommend to friends and look forward to returning.

    My daughter and I dined at Alder last night for her birthday. We had a lovely server. The appetizers were delicious and the mains were equally delicious. The coconut cream pie was divine.

    Service was excellent. Shashito pepper & fries were overly salty!!! Although drinks were amazing, we were disappointed with the food, didn’t feel as though it was a good value for the high cost

    We were seated closest to the host stand which was distracting as people were coming and going. There was a bit of a draft from the door opening upstairs which made it a little chilly at times. Our server and server assistants were all fantastic and the timing of the courses was perfect. Cocktails were great! Would return for drinks after work! Highly recommend the beef carpaccio and scallop crudo, absolutely delicious. The lamb was perfectly cooked although a little peppery for my taste. The duck featured was tough and the sauce slightly too thick and I wouldn’t order it again. Overall a very good experience. The ambiance is great, loved the music and service was wonderful.

    We chose Alder to celebrate our anniversary on the recommendation of our daughter and it did not disappoint! The food was outstanding as was the wait staff that served us. Even if you’re not a coconut fan (which we aren’t) you should try the coconut cream pie. It was delicious. One of the best restaurants we’ve been to.

    We thought everything was good except the steak and eggs. The steak was livery and tough and the eggs were very runny and slightly undercooked whites. It was the most expensive thing on the menu and expectations were high considering what we got.

    Too loud pop music ruined an otherwise beautiful setting for dinner. This is a special place that should not sound like just another club music venue. Portions are way too big, which means my sense of value for money was not great. Why pay for much more food than you want to eat? Service was impeccable.

    Great food. Experience was a little weak. The hostess wanted to sit us down at the table at the entrance which was not good (very high traffic spot). We tried to change with some resistance. Finally she allowed us to eat at the bar. We were asked if it was a special occasion which it was my wife’s birthday but nothing became of that. Food was excellent. Octopus maybe a tad overcooked. Staff in the bar excellent and accommodative!
