   We had 4 diff appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 types of desserts put together by our server with wine pairing. Interesting wine choices and the food were just amazing. Dishes after dishes did not disappoint. Just amazing, will definitely be back.

   We have been here a few times now, maybe 5, it's consistently great. I love it. Always buy the xo sauce and chili oil to take home. A gem. Thanks Anna, Josh and the entire staff!

   The food was fantastic… but the seating had to be the most uncomfortable experience ever. Imagine sitting on a hard wooden bench/chair for 2 hours! No cocktail selection and minimal wine by the glass selection. Not an ideal dinner date experience, which is unfortunate because the food was excellent.

   The food was tasty. The bao had nothing in it, rendang was under seasoned, wine list was not diverse enough. Also the restaurant smelled like manure.

   Is there another restaurant quite like this in Toronto? Excellent preparation of very original dishes. Service was efficient snd friendly but we felt a bit rushed near the end of the meal. A relaxed neighbourhood ambience despite fairly high noise levels.

   Phenomenal, best food I've had this year. Not crowded and cozy vibes. We couldn't decide on the menu so the waiter kindly put a menu together for us. The dishes came out with a great order, from cold to hot, light to heavy, and tasted amazing, including the wine. Will most definitely recommend the smoked beets, great aroma, fresh texture, with a lingering after taste.

   Food was spectacular. Knowledgeable service. Loved the four dishes we shared. Bao, pork wonton and noodle, char siu pork steak, and shrimp fried rice. Everything was super tasty and unique. Can’t wait to go to Alma again.

    The ambience and service were fantastic! 3/4 dishes we loved. The fourth was a vegetarian take on the pork noodles which ended up tasting out of balance but still good enough to finish. The sommelier gave us a good wine recommendation

    Went to Alma to celebrate for a friend! Was a great experience. Server was knowledgeable about the wine and food. It’s all shared plates which was a bit hard for our group because of dietary restrictions, but there was something to eat for everyone. We just ended up ordering our own food but it would be better to share when you go with your group. Good vibe, ambience etc…recommend!

    Food okay. Menu not the same as on website which was a disappointment. Some extra dishes for lunar new year, not sure it was a good exchange. The scallops were delicious but the lotus root was blah. The bao is fantastic- best bet. Desert was huge disappointment, not sure if chef knows what a tart is

    Food is tasty, but expensive (bordering on overpriced) for what you get. Overly dark inside, to a point where it’s quite annoying. Wine they had by the glass was really good. Glad we went, but not sure I’ll rush to return.

    We had a fantastic experience at Alma! Authentic flavours and everything was perfect. We ordered three dishes to split between two of us, which was perfect. Lots of gluten free/gluten friendly options. No cocktails but an extensive wine list with nightly white, red, and sparkling pours by the glass. Great service and cozy ambience.

    First time back at Alma since before the pandemic. The smoked eggplant dip with chili oil was tasty; the bao itself was ok but not great. The charred cod had wonderful flavour. The squid fried rice was too salty and the squid much too chewy. There was only one white wine available by the glass. And the miso sesame cheesecake was so dry that neither of us finished ours.

    Food and service were excellent. I’ve recommended this place many times and will continue to go back. It’s a small Room and the draft from the door opening is very chilly at times. That’s the only negative.

    Second time eating here and just love the food and the vibe. Looks like a hole in the wall from outside, but once you’re inside it’s got it all going on- from warm welcome, to scrumptious dishes and flavours, and intimate , cozy space. Ordered 8 dishes and hard to pick our favourite as everything was so tasty and appealing. But the radish cake was truly divine. ( who would have think?!) Great spot to celebrate our birthdays!

    The service was incredible and the food was delicious. We got the boa and it was their take on bread and butter but it was so much more delicious. We mixed the two sauces that came with it, and it was chefs kiss. We also got the braised beef and noodles, and the chicken wings. The chicken wings was my favourite and the noodles were delicious. Definitely recommend

    Braised beef cheek with XO sauce was the highlight. You can comfortably skip everything else :) Staff was friendly enough to wait late to finish, and even got us white rice when we asked for it!

    I always love going to Alma. I'm not a fancy person but the food feels fancy without the stuffiness of fine dining. The food is fantastic and service is amazing. You are constantly attended to without it ever feeling overbearing. I've tried almost everything on the menu. The Radish Cake and Pork Wontons are a must -perfectly crafted and unbelievable. This time around we had the cod and were a little disappointed as it was the most expensive item yet the least enjoyable. The other aspect that was disappointing is that there is less of a wine by the glass selection now. I used to really like going and trying different wines but they only have 3 options now (red, white and sparkling) and everything else is by the bottle. We went with a group of 4 people so the bottle was fine but I would have preferred to be able to try different wines vs only drinking the one kind. This is a great place to go as a date or with a group of friends. I've suggested it to many people.
