Alobar Downtown is nestled in the heart of Toronto's bustling Financial District. Alobar Downtown offers revelry in the bar and lounge and warmth in the dining room, both featuring menus from Michelin-starred chef Patrick Kriss. World class wines are displayed as a centrepiece to pair with choice seafood, grilled fish and prime chops. All served with genuine hospitality.

Join us for happy hour on weekdays from 2.30pm-5.30pm. Available at our bar, lounge, and our covered and heated patio.

We feature live DJ sets Wednesdays through Saturdays starting at 5pm!

World class service, food, wine and cocktail lists. Andrea, the Sommelier, makes selecting wine fun and romantic. Luis, the bar manager, made us delicious classic cocktails with his own creative touch. Can’t wait to return!

What I loved: Tiramisu Tart (the included scoop of espresso ice cream had such a kick!), Mille-Feuille (this was such a surprise; I was very, pleasantly satisfied), Tagliolini (much much flavorful; I scooped up the extra sauce with the Pain Au Lait I ordered), Chilled Lobster (too sinful; I would've ordered a second serving but I still had mains coming). All in all, I shall return! :")

Excellent food. Terrible service. We had a large party of 11 for my birthday. I was consistently made to feel out of place and not welcome by our waiter (I was turning 22). Due to the age demographic of our party, we were made less of a priority. Food was wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful. However, I was not treated well and for that I am turned off of all the Alo restaurants going forward. Btw our bill was 1300$.

The food quality and presentation is excellent. We found extremely expensive an appetizer of scallops that it cost 50 cad plus tax with only 4 scallops in it, to share with 4 people

Tried Alobar downtown with a group of colleagues to cap off an off-site and was thoroughly impressed. I've dined at Alo twice and they couldn't accommodate our group the day I needed, so I decided to try Alobar downtown which made it easy to book our large group. The mixed reviews worried me a bit, and I'm very happy that my experience was fantastic. We did the family meal and added two foie gras parfaits, there was certainly enough food without them but I don't regret it. As soon as we tried the apps, the whole table started talking about how good everything tasted, and this is a group who travels and enjoys good food wherever they go. Nothing disappointed; we loved the carpaccio, salmon crudo had great acidity, the beef was perfectly medium rare and tender even on a large family plate, the sea bream was flavorful and flaky. We had cocktails and wine, the banana dessert surprised me with how light it tasted and I wanted to keep eating the sour cherry compote for the cheesecake on its own! Our server Liana was very attentive and other staff members were helping out too. I didn't find the live DJ too loud, we conversed all night, and the bathrooms were so nice, as you'd expect at a high end restaurant. And the team was also very accommodating when our party size changed last minute. I'm happy I chose Alobar Downtown and would happily recommend it as a place where you can easily get together in large groups, and enjoy flavors and dishes cooked at Alo quality with more casual (relative to Alo) presentation and ambiance. Many thanks to the Alobar Downtown team for making our evening excellent.

Our corporate lunch experience was amazing as always. The service by Tony was impeccable and the food and drink is always amazing. Also need to mention the amazing playlist on during lunch, which I understand was created by Chef.

The service was really slow. I came in earlier than my reservation and alerted the front desk staff that my client/guest was celebrating her birthday so could they put a candle on the dessert . They told me that was noted but when dessert came, no candle on the dessert my client ordered. Also my client mentioned that the food (she had the tagliolini) was too oily.
