We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great cheeseburger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings.

Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees.

Amazing from start to finish! From the drinks, consistent service, to the spectacular food, Aloette didn’t miss a beat. I highly recommend this spot!

Perfect food and worth the price. The desert menu and quality can use some upgrade. Service was great just got a couple of dirty cloths when the table was refreshed for desert. Overall highly recommended.

On the street patio. Lots to see with the constant passing parade. Wonderful food as always. Melon salad, fried chicken, sous vide lamb skewer, and unordered fries each presented separately. Very good wine list. Attentive waiter and terrific serving staff. A communication error resulted in fries rather than shrimp and grits but they were great.

My first experience at Aloette was amazing! The food the music the staff and vibe of the space was everything you could ask for in a restaurant. I would high recommend it for a date because of its fun upbeat but intimate atmosphere.

i have been to Aloette more times than i can count. I have always been a fan of the value for money offered by the restaurant . Yesterday experience was quite disappointing at the food level. The notorious Aloette fried chicken was way too salty and over cooked. The saltiness and bitterness of the chicken overpowered everything else. We also ordered the shrimp and grit which wasn’t bad but not at Aloette standards. Smoked ham and aged cheddar flavors were taking over. The shrimps were mixed with the grit so it was honestly hard to distinguish their presence. Overall, it might have been a bold dish but without the clean and balanced flavors expected from that establishment. i ll come back. It was my first time ever being disappointed by Aloette food.

It was one of the best meals we have ever had. Towering Lemon meringue pie is a perfect end to the meal.
