A relatively new discovery for me, but I’ve been going there weekly for Happy Hour as it goes to 6PM! The Happy Hour House rosé wine is very nice and $6 so can’t go wrong there. All of their Happy Hour food items are an excellent value for $10-12. It’s not on the Happy Hour menu, but the beef tartare is made table side so pretty fun to order. Definitely fresh and delicious. The menu is French inspired, but still fun…. like duck poutine. The food comes out quickly and the service has been great. Definitely a nice way to end the work day!

I went for lunch during the week & showed up 30 minutes early for my reservation. It wasn’t a problem thankfully. We had bread (fresh & yummy) along with the onion tart and duck cassoulet - portions were large and the both were excellent. French Voiginier during or lunch & lattes finished the meal. Our service was very good, the ambiance was lovely and I think it’s a little gem downtown. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Light lunch with traditional French onion soup and bistro salad. Friends also ordered salads. Niçoise salad was great as well. Both were perfectly prepared with light and flavorful dressings. Easy walk walk from the convention center, set in a quote downtown location.

The restaurant was beautiful. Unfortunately this the only good thing. I ordered the Coq Au Vin. I had 1 drumstick that was dark and extremely dry. On the plate were 2 pieces of chicken breast that was moist but looked liked it was roasted chicken. It did not taste nor look like Coq ay Vin. Meal was also very salty. So very disappointing

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely early dinner at Alouette. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived at 6 but busy by the time we left at 7:30 or so. The food was excellent, as it has been on several previous occasions that we have dined here. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Our friendly server was well informed about the wine list and the menu. We will be back!

First dining experience and it left a lasting impression. Guillame, our server, was exceptional - personable and genuinely attentive. All dishes were well prepared, with generous portions that left us so full and satisfied. The attentive management, who visited our table three times during the evening to ensure our experience was flawless along with the complimentary bubbles to cap off our night really made our evening an unforgettable memory at Alouette.

Great French bistro downtown. Beef tartare made table side, garlicky escargot, coq au vin and moules frites transported us to Paris. They were doing 50% off wines under $150 on Thursday so we splurged on a wonderful Pouilly Fuisse recommended by our waiter.

This is my 3rd visit to the restaurant and while everything overall was good with exception to 2 things: 1) overly eager waitress - constantly coming back to our table to see if we were ready to order. Better for her to ask us to let her know when we're ready 2) Steak Frites - seriously the piece of beef tenderloin was only 4oz or less. For the price and in comparison to other restaurants should be at least 6oz. Regardless of the taste this was a letdown. I'd recommend to stay away from this dish. Would I return? Definitely not my first choice for a French bistro as there are better options.

Extremely pleasant dining experience in a well decorated, comfortable setting of a very delicious French restaurant! Our server, Guillaume, was super friendly, attentive with a nice sense of humor! Our first night in Vancouver was a success, thanks to Guillaume and of course, the chef!

Overall experience was good. Food was very nice and the ambience is laid back but elevated. Server was good but had forgotten our order of table bread so we never received it but we’re still charged for it. Drinks took awhile to come out - we got them the same time as our appies but we had ordered the drinks first thing. Still one of my favour spots for beef tartare though.

The food and drinks are great but that means nothing if you don't have good service. It really affects the mood of your experience. Maybe our server had a bad day, but it is your duty in customer service to put your issues aside so that your customers can have a great time. Overall, we just felt like a burden to him and we felt uncomfortable asking him for typical things you would need out for dinner, nothing crazy.

We stayed at the hotel and really enjoyed our meal. Food and service was great, we had the venison special and the wife had Coq au vin, both excellent. I highly recommend Alouette.

Overall amazing. We had James waiting on us, and he’s the sweetest. Amazing Scottish accent and he knew how to treat his customers. Lovely ambience. We’re visiting Vancouver, and so booked the place as it had really good ratings… and we were not disappointed! We were made to feel very special and it was a night to remember!
