I would go back to Al's in a heartbeat. I've worked in and managed some of Ottawa's most known restaurants and have always wanted to try Al's. I finally decided to go for lunch the other day and will definitely be returning. Easy parking, great service, great food, reasonable prices.

Excellent attentive service by staff that really know their stuff. Food is prepared perfectly as requested - course timing is right on. However, the loud noise level was nearly abusive and the only thing that took away from the experience. This was surprising in that our reservation started at 7pm on a Wednesday night? Unfortunately the marble wall on one side is highly sound reflective (and we happened to be seated right beside it). The tables were very comfortable and the overall look of the dining room was beautiful. Only because of the noise level ai give it an overall 4 out of 5.

I ordered the shrimp. They were undercooked and unfortunately tasteless. An individual at the table next to our was speaking so loudly that it ruined the evening for many of us around him. I had heard good things about this restaurant, but was greatly disappointed.

Service was wow! The crispy calamari was chewy, they took it back but the new one still chewy. I asked for a medium rib steak and it was almost well done. We were not able to eat any of our sweet potato fries because it was too oily. Looks like it was fried twice…

The steaks were cooked perfectly , we had the lunch filet mignon 4 oz perfect size with mashed potatoes ( I would like if they would offer garlic mashed instead of regular mash but still good specially if you order a side sauce. Ryan our server was great . Their house salad dressing is very tasty. Worth returning for another meal .

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Al's Steakhouse. We had a bit of an issue with the hostess upon arrival - she criticized us for using "Open Table" to reserve our table as there was a miscommunication with our reservation when that is the option provided on the website to reserve online. Once we addressed our concerns with the Manager (Jamie), everything was amazing. Our server was Katie and she took great care of us. For appetizers we had the mussels, crab stuffed mushrooms and french onion soup. We both had steaks for dinner (bone in rib steak and black peppercorn filet), each amazing and cooked to perfection. We finished off the evening with a decadent chocolate dessert. The evening would have been perfect had the hostess been more pleasant and accommodating. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to both Jamie and Katie for making our special night a memorable one. Thank you so much!

We were seated for 20 minutes without anyone coming to our table. We asked a bus boy to get someone for us. The waitress said she didn’t see us. She provided our carafe of wine at no cost to us. That was nice and she provided good service the rest of our meal.

We came to Al's to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We received excellent service from Brandon, he was very attentive. The food was excellent as were the drinks. I would highly recommend Happy Hour, they have some great specials. This was my boyfriend's first time here and won't be his last!!! Thank You :)
