   Great place to spend an afternoon. Beautiful patio setting and fun place to enjoy a few glasses of wine. Panaoramic views when you walk to the back. We had live music and really enjoyed our Mother's Day out there!

   Altipiano Vineyard gives such a beautiful ambiance. The wine is enjoyable and the service to customers makes you feel like a close friend. This was my 2nd time visiting and I had to become a member. It is very tranquil, small, intimate, but enjoyable. What a great place to delight in wine tasting.

    Altipiano does not have food. We went there for lunch and reserved a table only to discover that there were actually no tables and they did not serve food. The road to the winery had potholes and was very rough and not well paved. When we pulled into the winery, it was someone’s house. We thought we were in the wrong place. The person in the house pointed us to a little room towards the side where a woman was waiting to let us into a tiny tasting room. She acted like we were disturbing her weekend. We were the only customers there, so maybe we were. We were starving, so we left immediately and went down the road to another winery that served food.

Open Table started allowing wineries to use their reservation platform during COVID. Most wineries within SD county fall under the boutique ordinance and are not allowed to serve food. We encourage our guest to bring a picnic or other snacks while they enjoy the patios. Yes, the winery is located on the owner's private property which is open to the public for tastings.     Loved the ambience here. At this time they were not serving food. You can order a charcuterie tray ahead of time. And you can request a food delivery while you are there or bring food with you. I wish I had known ahead if time. Loved it here anyway!

    This was only my second visit, yet I felt like Norm,walking into Cheers! By that, I mean I was treated with grace and welcomed as a member of the family would be on a routine visit, but with a feeling of support like the most important customer in the Winery ✨️.     Altipiano winery is like no other. The views are a well kept secret. My boyfriend and I had the most relaxing Saturday afternoon day date at this winery. We felt like we were sitting in our neighbors backyard just sipping wine with friends. The wines from this winery were absolutely delicious! As mentioned in previous postings they do not provide food but you can certainly bring your own food. (Some of my personal food ideas: charcuterie boards, sandwiches, pizza delivery). Tenisha (owners daughter) was the most gracious hostess. We really enjoyed her knowledge and kindness. Thank you for the wine. Thank you for the down home feeling.     First, I have to say that the wine was really good. Since it IS a winery, that's important, and the wine they made really is delicious. The venue itself, however, did not meet the expectations I had based on their website. The seating area is a cramped, extended patio outside the owners' home. It was a little odd that we sat next to a window looking into their house, but the view was beautiful, and there was live music (the guitarist was sensational). The real issue was the owner, who showed us a complete lack of hospitality. We spoke on the phone with her twice before making the reservation, yet she failed to mention that they do not serve any food at all - no snacks, no cheese, nothing. That isn't unheard of, but it's a fairly remote winery, so there wasn't any hope of ordering food or running out to grab anything. Considering we mentioned to her that it was a birthday and we expected to be there all afternoon, I would have expected that she mention it. We were "greeted" upon arrival with a shrug and treated like unwelcome visitors to her home, rather than customers with a reservation. One of our party called ahead to check if it was ok that she brought her newborn, but it wasn't, & she told the owner she'd leave her with a sitter. When we arrived, the owner told us she'd reduced our party because two of us weren't coming, then became irritated when they arrived. She complained to multiple people that she couldn't wait until the customers left, and then took a few of us aside and asked us to wrap it up an hour and a half before her listed closing time. We weren't loud/obnoxious, and we bought 10ish bottles plus flights. We also paid for the private tasting to learn about the wines, but the waitress delivered the flights, and the owner never came to tell us about the wine (they also didn't have enough glasses for 11 of us???). We had a great time, but it was because we're friends and could laugh at the terrible service. We'll never return.

As 1 of the owner I personally wanted to address your visit on 9/4/22, it was over 100.We seated the party at our best table.We have been 21/older since 1/2020.We have 4 grandchildren/understand the challenges.We encourage picnics/many brought provisions.The 3 flights was requested/additional bottles when needed.The BD Person was given a complimentry bottle of wine.We hope you will visit us again as our guests.     Hard to review since this is not a restaurant but a winery. No food. But the most amazing wines. It’s worth the drive if you appreciate fine wines. The ambiance is very comfortable, with beautiful patio settings. The owners are a lovely family who take pride in there wines and business. We bring our own pairing appetizers. I’m also a member so I can enjoy their bottles at home too.

    On 5/29/2022, I traveled from Los Angeles for their Sunday live jazz and a lovely wine tasting. The owner, Denise Clarke, greeted me with a smile upon arrival, and my table was meticulously labeled with a personalized welcome sign. Also, her daughter, Tanisha, was very amiable, attentive, humorous, and informative throughout my winery experience. Although this was a solo trip, my afternoon felt like a homecoming with family and friends. I will definitely be returning in the future and next time I will be bringing loved ones with me for the awesome outdoor experience.

    Love your wine and your patio where we have sat before. We had a 1:30 reservation and were seated next to the parking lot. Many tables farther away from the cars were never filled throughout the afternoon. I guess people didn’t show up for their reservation. Love your wine and the music, but sitting 5 feet from a car ruined the ambiance especially when other tables were available.

    This was a wonderful casual experience in a lovely setting. The winemaker and her family were the ultimate hosts and very attentive to our large group even though they had several other guests that day. I rated the food 4 stars but we did not have any food although we were invited to bring our own food and they accommodated that very well by providing a buffet table and net covers.     First off, we had no food but since we had to rate it, fair was fair. The wines were ok. But the $35 per tasting felt like a rip off. I asked if a tasting would be comped if we bought a bottle of wine. This is a common practice at wineries. The answer was "no." The ambiance was disappointing. While there is a beautiful view from the back of the house, tastings were done in a closed-in garden, affording no view. Had I taken the time to research how much the tastings (for three) were going to be, and had I known how disappointing the ambiance was going to be, we would not have gone to this winery. The website photograph is not accurate.
