Food was very disappointing. We shared a few dishes.
Have been there a few weeks earlier and the food was very good.
Delicious food & drink menu, good ambience and the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. Will definitely come back.
Birthday get toghether
Charged for water even though we got tap water. The towels they give you or use are all stained. Pretty dirty for just a newly opened restaurant, especially during COVID.
We had fantastic service. I wish I remembered our servers name. He was very attentive, asked us many times about our food, never let our water glasses be empty, cleaned our table along the way etc!
The food was excellent and the ambiance was lovely and the restaurant is gorgeous
It was my bday and everything was great just the table that we were seated at wasn’t the greatest I requested the table in the back of the restaurant where all the nice decor is and I was told it was not available bc they had a reso coming in. We were there for 3 hours and the table was never used. So either they lie about resos or that table is never used lol 😂😂 Then asked to be seated on the patio bc it was a nice outside, but they told me my party of six was too big to be seated on the patio but ppl with a party of 6 were already seated outside, so was just confused how they seat resos.. Food was very good, service was good, wine was amazing. 😃 I would go here for dinner again.
Nervous about Covid...server grabbed our cutlery and showed us how to eat food. He was touching everything. Then went to the next table and did the same thing....not a safe practice during Covid times...
Amazing Ambience. Limited Food Options. Over-priced
Really interesting and delicious menu. Service staff was awesome! The decor was gorgeous! Overall we really liked everything about our food experience at Amal!
Food was meh. Not worth what i paid
Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable. Amazing food just the dessert was not as great but over all we ladies had a great time.
Service was extremely slow. Our reservation was at 8:45 but our server didn’t take our drink order until 9:20 (waited at least 10-15 mins for drinks to arrive). She took our food order at around 9:30, and before our food even arrived, she came and asked us for last call for food as the kitchen closes at 10:00. The food was very average. Our table ordered the dip trio, which wasn’t bad, and the pistachio kebab and chicken shawarma, which were both bland. While the presentation was great, it was overpriced for what it was (you could get better tasting food at a takeout place for much cheaper). The decor and ambiance were great though. I’d go back just for drinks, not for dinner.
When you want to try something out of the ordinary, this is the place to go.
Great ambiance average food
A wonderful evening - excellent staff who were extremely pleasant and very helpful at suggesting complimentary dishes.
Very very over priced, small portions, food is not that tasty. Nice decor. Over all not worth the price
This was my second visit to Amal , it is a beautiful restaurant, modern appointments, dressy crowd, excellent service, and for a restaurant of this caliber, a tremendous value. Will certainly return soon!
Food should be elevated a bit but everything else is A+
The decor and service are exceptional. Loved the atmosphere. The food tasted fresh and healthy.
Food is excellent. Service is good. Value for paid is average.
GreT food great service
Beautiful decor. And ambiance. Food is nothing special. Meh at best. Paramount serves the same dishes for a much better price.
Great Restaurant, Great Service, Nothing special about the food, Cocktails were okay. Ambiance is fantastic.
Restaurant- Beautiful and elegant with a great atmosphere and instagram worthy for all the ladies !
Food - a variety of dishes lacked proper seasoning but if you do make it out there make sure you order the platter for 4 that consists of variety of delicious meats but ask them to hold the veggie skewers!! Do order the the platter of 3 dips sampler, do order Makanek and dip away with the hummus you just ordered with your 3 sampler plate. Do order Spinach Fatayer and maybe you do yourself a favor and order two servings because they are delicious, Do order Pita Arrayes because they are mouth watering and make sure you have extra Muhammara to dip!! Do not order the grape leaves , Do not order the pickle plate, Do not order the Fattoush or Tabbouleh as they both lack flavor, parsley is to rough and dry and not enough lemon juice. This brought much disappointment for such stable dishes in Lebanese cuisine.
Wine : Going to our reservation I had such excitement that will be able to pair Modern Lebanese cuisine with possible top Lebanese wine but once arriving and to my surprise there was only one option of Lebanese wine (which if anyone knows wine there is some knockouts in Lebanese wines!!) and the rest of the menu was made up of Italian, French and a few Cali wines with little desire to drink any of them.
Service: We had a decent waiter but we had a few items that were forgotten to be brought out or they were brought out to late or incorrectly. At times our waiter was running around like a chicken without a head!
Overall: I would recommend this place for someone to go if they wanna be seen in Yorkville and looking for a beautiful place to hangout and enjoy a few dishes but not super high expectations when comes to taste and flavor. This place has so much potential let’s hope INK can capitalize!
Very impressive. The food and the ambiance were amazing. Definitely will go back .
We had a few dips for the beginning of our meal and that was very good. However, the pita served with the dips was dried out and did not appear to be fresh.
There were a few choices for skewered meat with several added sides. We asked if we could have just the skew and non of the sides. The reply was yes. We were served the lone beef tenderloin skewer and it was very dry and had a strange gamy taste to it. For some reason, we also received some fries which we didn't touch, because we only wanted the skewer. The last thing we ordered was a pita stuffed with beef with a drizzle fo pomegranate molasses. It was not good. Tasteless and soggy.
So, bottom line, I would not go back. And, if I did the only thing I would get is the dips and maybe a cocktail.
Oh, the other annoying thing is that the price for the full meal of the lone beef skewer with 4 pieces of meat was $26. They charged us the full amount without explaining when we ordered that this is what they were going to do. Very bad customer service to say the least.
Lovely experience, food, ambience, and service! Came here for my birthday and it was my first time! Will come back and sit in patio
The place is beautiful and our server was amazing. We had a bit of an issue where as were seated but the server attitude was so amazing that made our experience a good one.
We celebrated my birthday at Amal. The restaurant is beautiful. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful evening.
Very bad service special in the concierge
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and an incredible waiter named Ali who explained the dishes to us and how to eat them to maximize our experience😀
Great food, customer service and ambiance. Had a great time!
They need to check their washroom's doors because we can see what people are doing inside.
Really nice design , service was OK but not great - place was busy ... biggest problem was the food. Very disappointing. Plane , and doesn’t justify the cost. I excepted this group to do better culinary wise. The food was just not tasty , presentation was off
Beautiful, bright and chic interior combined with delicious food and lovely music. Can’t ask for more. Booked for weeks though!
Can’t wait to go back
My wife and I have waited over 30 years for a nice Lebanese cuisine in the GTA that doesn't feel or look like your in your kitchen or back alley. The atmosphere, energy and food was great. Our server Dana (excuse the spelling) was outstanding. She made us feel very comfortable and was very knowledgeable with the menu and recommendations.
To the owner CK...Congrats on the great place and best wishes!!
The food is Really good!
We had several starters and hot mezze to share as well as the pistachio kebab that was delicious. The Makanek sausages were super good. The Sabiyaat dessert was excellent too.
I had two cocktails which were both refreshing and very good too.
The restaurant venue itself is beautifully decorated.
The service was ok. We chose to be outside on the terrace, it was interesting to see and hear that when people come in without reservations some of them were told “Sorry we’re fully booked”, and a minute after others come without a reservation and were seated :-)
As the food and drinks were excellent, I will definitely be going back again!
Lovely new restaurant - everything you’d expect from Charles Khabouth. No expense was spared in creating the MOST BEAUTIFUL space. Food was excellent.
The only thing that made the experience less than stellar was the table of shrilling young ladies next to us.
While this is typically not the fault of the establishment, they were clearly there as an entourage of one of the staff members. Being able to hear their entire conversation over the music and the other patrons definitely took away from the night.
BAD EXPERIENCE. Had birthday reservations 8:30pm @ Amal. I was running behind 15-20 mins so I called them and asked if they could hold my table, hostess said no problem. When I arrived they did NOT hold my table and they didn’t seat the few friends that arrived early waiting at the restaurant because they needed more people to hold a table for 8. All in all I had to wait 1 hour for them to give us a table. I found it very disrespectful and embarrassing waiting 1 hour with a large group considering it was my birthday dinner( which they knew). The ambiance and decor was beautiful, too bad they had very poor customer service, even our server made us wait forever before taking our order, we ended up having dinner 11pm. The food was ok, the chicken skewer I ordered was undercooked. A restaurant is only as good as their customer service, will not be returning.
