   Had a wonderful experience however will not go back as could not hear anyone sitting across from me talk. Way too noisy!! So lost the desire to return despite food and service being wonderful. What good is a dinner if you can’t converse with your friends.

   We went to Amal for our Anniversary dinner. Loved the decor and the service! The friendly staff made you feel really welcomed! Food was excellent especially the hummus options! Would highly recommend this restaurant!

   Food and service were amazing as always. Spencer, our server was always on point and really attentive. Music was a tad louder than we would have liked if you were looking for group conversation but a small price to pay in the greater scheme of things.

   We went on a Monday night and were surprised by how busy it was. Service was fabulous - the entire staff were attentive. Food was really amazing (meat falling off the bone, flavourful recipes) and well presented. We left with full bellies and contented smiles. We had a small table (2) which made it a bit challenging for sharing multiple dishes amongst the table light and our drink glasses. Of note it looked like there was a DJ booth so although the night of our visit the noise level was perfect for conversation that might not be the same experience on other nights. Would highly recommend and plan to return in the future.

   Ambiance was nice. Its a beautiful space. Service was good. Waited quite a while for our table with reservations. Food took a long time we had to cancel an order after waiting so long. The drinks took a while as well. The kofta kebab was dry and needed seasoning. Fries were stale and when we sent it back, the new one tasted old as well. Maybe it was a bad night.

    Great food & interior but it seemed as though the waitress was annoyed with my groups food restrictions as some people have allergies & intolerances so we had to swap some side dishes in our meals. Shawarma entree is actually a shawarma wrap but that isn’t specified on the menu - it should be for people with gluten allergies.

    Absolutely loved my experience at Amal. The ambiance is beautiful from the moment you walk in, the room is gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing. Food was presented beautifully on the plates and the taste matched. Had a few cocktails which were also delicious!

    A beautiful restaurant, food was great, staff was friendly. I was deeply offended and shocked that 90% of female staff UNIFORM included an extremely short skirt (in the middle of winter) Men wore pants. This clearly sexualized dress code is derogatory and sexist and I cannot believe a restaurant in Toronto in 2023 can get away with this human rights violation.

    One of my favourite restaurants. Great ambience, very warm and cozy but still elegant. Great service - the staff were lovely and very attentive. Food was excellent. We had the shared platter ($70) and the quality and amount of food you get is perfection. 10/10 would recommend.

    We went for my moms birthday and everything was so amazing!! The food, the ambience, and especially the service was top tier. They even offered to bring out one of the desserts we ordered with a candle which was so sweet! Overall great experience, totally would recommend.

    We met another couple at the restaurant for a catch up visit, and it was perfect. Staff was attentive, food was great and the atmosphere spectacular! So happy we picked Amal.

    Awesome experience. Room is beautiful. Service was great - attentive but not intrusive. Allowed me to customize my order. Our party of five was very pleased with the entire experience. If half-stars were available, Amal is a solid 4.5. Close to perfect. The only drawback is it's a little on the pricey side.

    The environment was great and service good. Food was good but the French fries did not suit the quality of the food presented. They were from a frozen bag, unseasoned dry fries. I would recommend to the head chef to change this side dish. This is a high end restaurant in Yorkville...

    It’s a warm, bright and beautiful restaurant that gets the most gorgeous daylight and sunbeams. The food was delightful But not so good for me to ignore my experience. It could have been a one-off but that doesn’t make it biased. Having been around I have a high tolerance - sh*t happens, all good. But I was so struck by the manager’s response. It’s short sighted and dimishes customer experience. Restaurants need to run a long game if they want to survive. Amal’s instaworthy aesthetics will only be a draw for a while. Kudos to our server for owning her mistake and she brought it to the attention of the manager. He did nothing and seemed apathetic. I was open to giving it a second chance or at least recommending the restaurant to others, But won’t. Perhaps he felt there are enough potential patrons I’m no loss. So I will relay the same courtesy; there’s so many amazing restaurants that I can forget this one. Thank you, next.
