Amalia Fumelli is the inspiration behind Amalia’s Authentic Italian Restaurant. She was born in Italy in 1932, and grew up on a farm. As she grew up, she took an interest in cooking and learned everything about the Italian kitchen from her mother and grandmother. For countless hours each day, Amalia began making hand-made pasta with her rolling pin on an old, wooden table. After many years, she had mastered her pasta creations through her skilled handiwork, precise cutting skills, and the amount of love she put into her work.

Over time, Amalia has passed all of her secrets and knowledge about food along to her children and grandchildren. One grandchild in particular, Filippo Fanfani, gained a passion for the art of cooking through her guidance. As a child, he spent all his days at his grandmother’s house preparing meals for his family. The two have a strong bond, that began with their conjoining love of creating meals that are enjoyable for everyone.

Finally, a restaurant that suits the beautiful old house that it is located in. Amalia's is a great Italian date place. The menu is quite limited but each meal is meticulously prepared. Service is top class. I'd read on previous reviews that the cost of the meal was high for the portion size. I'm not sure whether Amalia's has addressed this issue or not but it certainly wasn't the case on our visit. Two of my three guests had ample food to take home with them. For example, one had five large scallops on a large bowl of risotto. We'll be returning.

I recently moved to Wake Forest and we are starting to get acquainted with our new neighborhood. I found Amalia’s and decided to give it a try. It was fine dining at it’s best. Our host and server Logan was simply awesome. He described the menu in detail and all of his recommendations were fantastic. We will become regulars!!!

Service as fantastic and I'll come back because of that!! My only issue with this place is the that the food is overpriced. It is good, but just too much for what you get. I'll be back - but only for a special occasion.

The setting and the food was excellent. Beautiful building and seating. The food was exceptional in all three courses and dessert. The meal was overpriced for the portions and available competitors. The price is the ONLY reason I'm giving three stars.

The service definitely made the biggest impact on us, prompt, courteous, informative but not intrusive. Food and cocktails were both delicious. It is expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

Been to Amalia’s several times and the food is always amazing. I hope one day they bring back their lasagna- so much like Italy. I’ve never had a bad dish and the waitstaff are always exceptional. Brian is our favorite and handles our sometimes rowdy table with awesomeness!!

I went with some visiting college friends and we all had a lovely experience. Our server was outstanding - comfortable, solicitous, knowledgeable - a real pro. Food was delicious and ambience perfect for a very nice dinner catching up with old friends.

This was one of the best dining experiences that my wife and I have ever had in our lives. The service was like none other that we've ever had. The food was undescribable. Every dish that we had was filled with an amazing combination of flavors. This is a must go to experience. Just phenomenal!

Really liked Amalia's but when we return, we will keep the price more reasonable by ordering one item each from either the Primo list or Secondi list but certainly don't each need one from each list as that is way too much food. The service and ambience were excellent.

We had the pleasure of dining here last evening. The ambiance is wonderful in a restored historic house. Noise level was on lower spectrum which allowed normal conversation. Service was exceptional from the greeting at the door by the hostesses to our amazing waiter Gaetano, who was so knowledgeable about the food and wine and very helpful with suggestions from the menu. He was very personable, attentive and anticipated any needs. The food was outstanding as we enjoyed 4 courses. Caprese was delicious, though small, with the fabulous freshly made mozzarella. The Linguine alla Pescatora was amazing, a must-have dish. The special of the Bone-in RibEye was prepared perfectly and seasoned to perfection and topped with compound butter. Dessert of Creme Brulee and Tiramisu topped a truly fabulous meal. We highly recommend Amalia's.

Everything was ok, not great. Started off with bottle of wine—le coupole—which waiter described as a super Tuscan. The wine was fine, although overpriced, but it was a red table wine (Rosso). The caprese salad was good—-very small and the pastas were tasty. My overall impression was that it was very expensive for pasta and wine. It is not just your restaurant but your industry that is raising prices—-this meal cost about twice what it would have been 2-3 years ago
