Amalia Fumelli is the inspiration behind Amalia’s Authentic Italian Restaurant. She was born in Italy in 1932, and grew up on a farm. As she grew up, she took an interest in cooking and learned everything about the Italian kitchen from her mother and grandmother. For countless hours each day, Amalia began making hand-made pasta with her rolling pin on an old, wooden table. After many years, she had mastered her pasta creations through her skilled handiwork, precise cutting skills, and the amount of love she put into her work.

Over time, Amalia has passed all of her secrets and knowledge about food along to her children and grandchildren. One grandchild in particular, Filippo Fanfani, gained a passion for the art of cooking through her guidance. As a child, he spent all his days at his grandmother’s house preparing meals for his family. The two have a strong bond, that began with their conjoining love of creating meals that are enjoyable for everyone.

    The atmosphere was excellent, the service was amazing, and the food was wonderful. Would definitely recommend Amalia's for date night, special occasions, or any time you want good food. We will definitely be back to try new entrees.

    We went to Amalia’s for my fiancés birthday dinner. Right away the ambiance is comfortable and inviting. The lighting was warm and music was spot on for an upscale feel. Live sax music later in the night was a cherry on top for mood. Our waiter, Logan, was exceptional - a level of service and attention to detail you seldom find these days. The food was excellent as well. We ordered a ziti with cream sauce, a bolognese dish, a rib eye steak, and the risottino. Everything was cooked to perfection and the tastes were authentic and fresh feeling. Wine selection is very good, and the chocolate panna cotta and cannolis are all worth saving room for. Mr. Fanfani personally came to check on our experience before leaving. A+ all the way around.

    Excellent Italian food and wine. The White Truffle pasta is outstanding. We also were very impressed with the Mediterranean Seabass with clams , and the lamb chops. One of our very favorite restaurants!!

    We had a family gathering and could notnhave been more pleased. Brian our sever was attentive but not intrusive. He made good foodnand wine recommendations. We were not rushed and enjoyed every bite!

    Absolutely one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Top notch fine dining in Wake Forest! The chef is absolutely amazing and our lovely waitress Natalie was SUPERB! A Dynamic dining experience that I highly recommend!

    We were sat for our reservation and after 20 minutes with no one acknowledging our presence we asked for the manager. She was very apologetic and comped two glasses of wine and our dessert. We appreciated the gesture after such a terrible start to our dinner. The food was very good, and the service from that point very attentive.

    Our server Guy was wonderful a true class act. Kept us well informed & entertained as well. His wine knowledge was incredible. We absolutely loved the risotto with sea scallops & the filet was divine. My wife’s birthday was perfect except that we had to run out & pick up our daughter so no dessert! We’ll be back for more soon. Do yourself a favor & make a reservation.

    Best restaurant experience in a long time. Felt like we were family. Loved everything about it. Easy parking. The best waiter. Food was outstanding. Can't say enough great things about this place. I can't wait to go back. The pasta was amazing. Felt like I took a trip to Italy.

    It was ~ 6 months from our last visit. The menu has changed somewhat and one of our favorites (raviola/black truffle, etc) was gone. No scallops either. The Halibut special was very good. The risotto special was just average. Service was very good and we like the ambience. It was a little noisier than usual but ok. The main concern we had was the pricing has jumped significantly. And the suggested tips start at 18% and go to 25%. We did not find the overall experience to be worth the price. But maybe we are out of touch with what is going on in the market now.

    I took my fiance here for his birthday and it was amazing! We drove past it once before and I thought the ambiencence looked cute so I put it on my list of places I needed to go to. We cannot stop raving about how much we loved it, the ambiance and food were amazing. Our waiter Logan was exceptional and super informative and we met the head chef Jason who was so sweet as well! We can’t wait to go back!

    Located in an older house, so multiple rooms for tables with separate bar area. Noise level moderate even with tables are busy. Food was great, tasty. Services was excellent, very upbeat. Wine list was good.

    Wow Wake Forest!!! So glad we don’t have to drive to downtown Raleigh for a 5 star meal. Food was all next level. Fabulous and worth the price. We will be back!

    Our first experience dining at Amalia’s was outstanding! An earlier commitment required us to make a 9PM reservation, but even though we were the last party to be seated that evening, we never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the delicious food and the warm, attentive service from Gaetano. My wife and I shared the Arugula salad, the linguine with shrimp and lobster meat, an entree of stuffed grouper, and tiramisu for desert and every course was excellent. My parents also raved about the linguine and shared the veal chop entree and said it was delicious. We will definitely return…hopefully sooner rather than later.

    This is our favorite restaurant for a romantic evening or special occasions. Gaetano is the consummate professional with expert knowledge and advice that creates a wonderful atmosphere. All of our dishes were presented with care and delicious. Best restaurant in Wake Forest.

    This was an amazing experience. The service was incredible, the food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was so classy and beautiful. We spent close to three hours dining there, and never once did we feel rushed. The attention to details did not go unnoticed. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a fine meal or a place to celebrate a special occasion. I already have reservations from my next experience there.

    This is my second time at Amalia’s, I was there with mi kids celebrating my birthday. Service was exceptional and food was delicious. We Enjoyed all the dishes, but the one we loved the most the risotto special with roasted vegetables and scallops, it was perfect! The. Foe dessert the white chocolate creme brûlée was perfect to end out meal. They surprised me with a glass of Prosecco and a candle in our dessert. A must place to visit in Wake Forest!

    My wife and I went there for our 13th Anniversary. By far the best food and service we have experienced anywhere in the Greater Triangle area. Wow!! Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and food was incredible!! A Must Go!!

    A perfect place for an intimate dinner with a loved one or a small group of friends. Service was a 10 out of 10 and the food was spectacular. There are definitely some portions you can share. Drinks are also phenomenal.
