    We had a brilliant time yesterday. We were a large group. The food was delicious, service was quick and most importantly the staff were absolutely brilliant. Would highly recommend.

    I had booked one of the window tables for two at 1:00 p.m., but when my fiend was late called to say we would be delayed. We arrived at 1:30 p.m. or later and the table had kindly been held for us. I don't recall it being noisy in the restaurant at all. The food was good, but not cheap, and the service was excellent -- a young lady (I've known for many years with long hair, whose name I don't recall) and some young men who were most pleasant and helpful.

    The service we received at Amersham House was good Unfortunately the food was not so good The quiche was awful the first one was sent back and a second one was brought to the table. This had been microwaved and was obviously worse than the first one. This was sent back immediately. The waiter was extremely good and offered another dish. My friend had a cheese platter which was very good. Everyone was very polite. We will return to try Amersham House on another occasion.

    Amersham House is a lovely restaurant in Old Amersham with both a la carte and fixed menu, so plenty of choice. Food was excellent and came very quickly once our order had been placed. However, service was very poor we had to attract attention to order our drinks, order our food and to pay our bill.

    It was unfortunate that although the restaurant wasn't busy we had to wait awhile for our mains. Even then the kitchen could not seem to produce hot fries. The front of house didn't seem to be interested in running the restaurant and left it to the waiting staff that did a good job. It could be run so much better as Amersham needs a reasonably priced restaurant serving good food and providing good service.

    Despite the fact I had booked 10days ago, received a message asking me to confirm, which I did, when we arrived they couldn’t find the booking. We were found a table and the staff were pleasant. I ordered Beef bourginon which was very overcooked, beef was dry and and no taste. We had to wait quite a while for desserts for which staff apologised. Over all you could have done better.

    I took my mother here for her 79th birthday. The staff were perfect, The food was ok. I had the full English my mother had the salmon on eggs. The main reason for my low score was that I spotted at least 2 people working in the restaurant. A man at the far end of the room had his laptop open and made 2 pretty noisy phone work calls. This really distracted me and somewhat affected the enjoyment of this special occasion. Thank fully he left after 40 mins or so and we enjoyed the rest if our time there. We did also feel a bit chilly. However tp re-iterate the staff were lovely, I could not fault them!

    limited choice of vegan options, but what i had was v. nice. i had to send soup back, lukewarm - to be heated up - but waiter very gracious. my non vegan husband enjoyed his food and so did i. we had 3 courses from the set menu. G&T rather expensive. we will definitely go again. thank you for a nice experience

    Generally the restaurant is warm, friendly and clean. First visit under new name. Staff were very friendly s and efficient. Good gluten free choice menu. Didn’t feel rushed. My food was very good but one member of our group wasn’t so pleased. Not too expensive on food but drinks just seem to have hit the roof in many food and drink establishments. £11 50 for large glass of red wine. Might as well get a bottle and take home what you don’t drink. Toilets were clean but if you struggle with stairs this may be of concern. It is a dog friendly restaurant. I would go back again.

    Attentive, helpful and friendly service, decent food, and pleasant surroundings. It was quiet for a Saturday evening, so would be nice to return on a livelier evening. Nice to have a range of vegan options to choose from too!

    Our waitress was lovely, couldn’t have been more helpful, and patient. My food was ok, warm beetroot salad was not warm. Quiche was not quite what I expected ie a nice fat slice with a nice deep filling. V flat whole quiche, a bit fatty for me & a few leaves for the salad. Would’ve preferred a big salad with fat slice of tasty quiche.

    Arrival welcome was welcoming and friendly. We were asked if it was a birthday celebration, it was. Courses arrived in good time, smiles abundant( I was with 2 grandchildren) and both courses were devoured! The big surprise was the arrival of the chocolate fondant birthday cake. My 10 year old was beside herself with excitement and she and her brother enjoyed scoffing the delicious food. Thank you very much, Amersham House!

    Very disappointed, 9 of us went for a birthday celebration meal , but had mishap after mishap, bread missed, 1 starter missed, wrong chips, wrong food, different red wine , and we were the only ones in there so not run of their feet, portions are small and not value for money.

    We had the set lunch menu with the smoked salmon fish cake as the main. It was difficult to find any fish in the fish cake. Low cost, poor quality bug I suppose you get what you pay for.

    A disappointment and backward step compared to Cote. More bistro than restaurant. My wife and I plus our two guests ordered your fish pie as the main course to be told that you had run out. You had also run out of my first choice of a starter the red onion tart. Once is understandable but twice......!? Two of us ordered Eton Mess as a dessert which was very small and poorly presented. The container for the tap water only contained enough water for three of the four glasses and our request for a fresh supply needed to be chased. The young girls who served us were cheerful and helpful but clearly inexperienced - maybe weekend temps? The food overall was cooked OK rather than well. Such a shame.

    We booked a table for 4 people @7.30pm on Saturday. The welcome was very inviting and enjoyed the decor. The restaurant was very quiet as there were only a few other tables occupied. The waiting staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive. We were very excited to try the food. We had a starter and main course. The food was very tasty but in terms of value for money we felt completely ripped off. It’s not cheap, the main course was the size of a starter disappointingly. With this in mind we decided not to have dessert and left. Compared to other restaurants in the area it’s not value for money and shan’t be returning.

    Very welcoming of guide dog and provided a bowl of water. Service was very slow possibly because there was a birthday party taking place. Also we sat in the window and did not know there was a 'Specials' board. Feel waitress should have let us know about the daily specials as I would certainly have chosen one had I known. My pie was advertised as beef and mushroom but had no mushrooms to be seen but plenty of cheap alternative carrots! A bit disappointing. We were also served with one incorrect meal - fish and chips instead of the fish pie ordered. In view of the already long wait for our meal the diner chose to accept the fish and chips which was 'on the house' which I felt was good. Inspite of all this we enjoyed our time at the restaurant as we were catching up with old friends and had plenty to talk about. Staff were pleasant but maybe need further training.

    Eaten here before and it was great today we had the chicken and linguine. It was poor as it was tasteless and the food was cool When it arrived and the restaurant was not busy! Not impressed. However calamari and crème caramel as usual were marvellous
