Tenía grandes expectativas para este restaurante, dada su reputación, pero desafortunadamente, mi experiencia no estuvo a la altura del precio ni de lo esperado. En cuanto a las bebidas, elegimos un Old Fashioned y una Margarita clásica. Ambos cócteles clásicos sufrían de un desequilibrio en sus proporciones: el Old Fashioned era demasiado amargo debido al exceso de bitters, y la Margarita tenía un sabor excesivamente ácido por el exceso de limón. Para comer, ordenamos la pesca del día, así como tacos de brisket y de cordero. Los tacos, tanto en la tortilla como en la carne, llegaron fríos, lo cual fue sorprendente considerando que el restaurante no estaba muy lleno y se contaba con la cocina a fuego directo en el centro del restaurant. La pesca del día estaba aceptable, pero carecía de un sabor distintivo que uno esperaría de alimentos cocinados con leña o a fuego directo. En resumen, aunque había algunos aspectos positivos (decoración y música), la experiencia general no cumplió con las expectativas

La decoración es hermosa Los empleados muy amables El dueño está siempre al pendiente de cada mesa. La comida muy muy rica, las porciones muy pequeñas. Los precios están bien, pero no es barato.

Un lugar bastante ameno y tranquilo para citas. Los cócteles están muy buenos y el ambiente es bastante bueno. La entrada es muy característica que le da un toque de misticismo al lugar.

We went to Anima a few months back and loved it but last night was disappointing. It was insanely busy which might account for some of the issues, but not sure we will go back. The server was completely overwhelmed and our drinks took about 20 mins to arrive and one person never got their drink. No one really liked their cocktails either. The food was not as good as it was and the fish special I had was probably 2 ounces of fish for over 500 pesos! The music also got louder and louder until we couldn’t have any sort of conversation. Probably gonna stay away from “restaurant row”

Lovely setting with soothing jazz music. Giovanni, our charming waiter was informative and helpful without hovering — a delightful young man. I choose the bbq ribs and my wife had the broccoli dish, both were outstanding! Our best meal in Mérida by far. Don’t miss this gem…

I really enjoy Anima for its food grilled over a wood fire, very direct and simple menu. Meat or fish and vegetables. And very good hand made tortillas to accompany the food. Service is cooperative and responsive, you are not waiting for your waiter, it appears that everyone does whatever needs to be done.

Excelente! escogi el restaurante para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi mama, y fue una excelente decision, todo muy bien, la comida, el servicio, el precio de acuerdo al consumo, ambiente muy agradable, la pasamos muy bien y tenemo sun muy bonito y agradable recuerdo de haber cenado en Anima!

We stumbled upon this restaurant and made a last minute reservation for seven people. The staff could not be more accommodating! We ordered literally everything on the menu and everything was beyond delicious. We have a limited time in Mérida, but will be going back for sure before we leave. This place is the best!

A great BBQ restaurant in Merida. The ribs, potato salad and grilled lettuce were outstanding. Definitely try the grilled lettuce. It’s the best I’ve ever had.

The food at Anima is all cooked on a wood grill, which is in the center of the outdoor dining area, so quite visible. We ordered lots of the grilled vegetable dishes, which were delicious as were the tacos made of slow cooked meats, and a fish dish. All delicious. It is a good addition to Merida's restaurant scene.
