Brunch: Saturday - Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Street parking is also available.
Brussel Sprouts were to die for. Sweet potato fries were also very good. We had the wings, pork shoulder, a rice bowl, and oxtail tortellini which were all nothing to write home about.
The food was amazing! We thought it to be very odd that your bar doesn’t ha e Crown Royal, which we were told by our server. Also, waiting 25 - 30 minutes for a drink we felt was a little absurd. Over all, was a delightful night out and we will most likely return.
Seafood wasn’t fresh and tasted like it was in a freezer for a while. Portions are smaller.
Delicious food! Quite and clean surrounding. Good location.
Great food greater service !
We were a large group but our server took great care of us. She chose the menu and it was all amazing. We will definitely be back.
Service was great. We loved the food. Very interesting menu.
This was honestly one of the best meals out we've had and we eat out a lot. The menu is creative and the food is outstanding.
Since none of us had been here before, we put ourselves in the hands of our server which is not always a good idea. This time, it worked spectacularly well. Our server was Jess and she was terrific. She brought one dish after another so we were smacking our lips during the whole meal. Really, we didn't even have a "favourite" dish, they were all so good.
I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Lovely little spot. So happy that they’re open late, perfect for after theatre/ hockey/or just a late night date night.
We went for my birthday and were very happy with Anju. All the food was fabulous and the wait staff very knowledgeable. They even provided a Birthday drink as a gift. We will go back for sure.
This is a wonderful spot. Best for small groups of three to six I'd say because of the 'food in the middle' serving style. Some of the dishes come with 4 pieces (something to ask about and consider when deciding on one or two plates). Could be it tricky for three to share evenly but part of the fun.
The food itself is flavourful, colourful and innovative. Surprise! The crème brulée is grey! because it has ground black sesame seeds in the recipe...it tastes a bit earthy - and delicious!
This was my second time at anju; the first time my server was excellent, but the second time not so much. I was with a friend who needed gluten free or low gluten options; the waitress recommended certain items, so we ordered them. What she failed to mention was the upcharges for ordering the gluten free stuff....$2 per item, to be exact. I was surprised to see the extra charges and rather than apologizing for not mentioning it, she snarks “well, it’s right on the menu!” Yeah, I guess maybe it was. In fine print. Very very easy to overlook, and impossible to see if you happen to be far sighted and don’t have your trading glasses. Anyway, she was very smug about it and didn’t offer even a small apology. Left a bad taste in our mouths, that’s for sure. So, her tip got reduced by the upcharges she was so smug about.
Loved the food!
This was my first time and I found that the food and atmosphere were amazing. Loved the service. Best service that I have received.
A very different take on Korean food.
Food is absolutely wonderful.
Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to experience Anju... we all loved it. Our server was really excellent and attentive.. helped us to make some wonderful choices. We’ll be back.
Great service, great food! Definitely recommend
Went with family for dinner. Was at Teatro the night before. Waitress was excellent! Friendly and attentive! Did allow our glass to become empty once but noticed she had several new tables to service over a very short period of time. She knew her menu by memory. Did not have to look into a notebook. We asked some specific questions in some of the dishes and she knew the answers.
Food was delicious! Great deal of flavours.
Will be back and would recommend for people would like to try Korean fusion cuisine.
The one negative thing that happened is when we got seated around 20 minutes early we ended up waiting for our server for 25-30 minutes to notice us.
Thankfully she did serve us very well after that.the food was quite delicious the only issue for the food was for the price of the black cod I’m my opinion it should be a larger size than you get; one mouthful is not worth $18.
Otherwise my and my friend for an appetizer got the lettuce wraps (ask for more lettuce when sharing)and the Korean style pickles which tasted amazing. For mains I got the cod and the broek acres spicy pork shoulder which is definitely worthy the price for quantity and quality as I ended up taking half of it home. Surprisingly more spicy than expected considering this is a more western fusion of Korean food.
Wings were delicious. Chicken lacked flavour and the short rib was overcooked and a tiny portion.
Fabulous food and drinks. Knowledgeable and friendly server who was on point with timing of the dishes. All the of the dishes were delicious.
Fusion Korean food creations were original and tasty. For example, the crispy tofu served on kimchee and pork belly. Only drawback to the food was there was too much grease in all three dishes we ordered.
Went on a Sunday night, seemed to only be 2 servers for the whole restaurant. After we were seated, it took our server at least 30 minutes to come by to ask for our drink or food order. Completely unacceptable. Also no apology for leaving us waiting. Ordered the crispy tofu, lamb potstickers, beef tataki, black cod, tofu lettuce wraps and the Brussel sprouts no bacon.
Crispy tofu : not as good as it used to be, barely any pork belly
Potstickers: decently good, probably wouldn’t order again
Tataki: best dish we had
Black cod: cooked perfectly but a tiny piece, maybe 2 cubic inches, almost laughable
Tofu lettuce wraps and Brussels sprouts were just OK. I do appreciate the vegan options.
Unfortunately we decided that we probably won’t be back - the service was so awful and the food just mediocre, we’d rather go to places that we know are going to be great like river cafe, cleaver, Wednesday room, etc.
Waitress did a great job explaining the menu, food came out fast and hot. The only thing I didn't agree was that they charge each person $1 for water, we weren't told this until we got the bill.
This is my 4th visit, and each successive visit is a little more disappointing than the previous. We ordered 6 dishes, three were very good, and three were bland. The stone bowl/kimchee style dish was a blob of over cooked soggy rice. The salmon sashimi (the house special on this night) was excellent if very thin slices. The Brussels sprouts are very good. The ceviche was bland and had strange texture. None of us liked it. Our server was excellent, very attentive without being intrusive.
Lots of other good choices around the area so don’t feel I need to come back here.
Great food and good ambiance. Parking can be a pain since it is on 17th but a great place to get food on a date if you get a booth.
Food and service were very good
parking was awful - we had reservations for five - cant park anywhere until 600 - we had to park illegally for an hour until we were allowed into the parking lot behind the restaurant - we very well could have been ticketed or towed. - next time reservations wont be any earlier than 600 pm
It was great. The food and service are consistently delicious.
Place was packed when we got our table at 7:15pm on a Sunday. As a result, service was lagging. This was balanced out by friendly staff once we did have their attention.
Got seated in the back section - not a fan of that space. I much prefer the space closest to the kitchen and bar.
There was a dad with a couple of his sons which was cool to see. Otherwise a fairly mixed crowd. Quite loud overall. Music was drowned out by the sounds of happy people... but when I heard it, it was some good tunes. Very eclectic.
Food was unique yet true to its S. Korean roots. Overall it was delish! Make sure you ask what is spicy if you’re not into spicy.
Bottom line: stick to the space by the kitchen and if you can get a seat at the chef’s table, definitely go for it! Avoid the larger crowds by either dining late or very early. This place is a must!
I've always enjoyed the food at Anju. The restaurant was busier than I've ever seen it. I ordered a side of Kim Chee for the first time. The portion was a very good side. It wasn't up to my satisfaction as it was saltier and less spicy than I prefer. Other than that the Halibut and Jap Chae was very good. Flavors were distinct and tasty.
Good food, good service!
Great options for vegans - really nice to have more than one choice!
The kimchi rice was way too spicy. The first time we went it we spicy but good. This time it spicy and almost inedible. When we asked the waitress why, she said it was always that spicy. Not a good answer.
I also think they used mutton for the lamb potstick, which was way way too strong.
This place has fantastic flavourful food and cocktails. Highly recommend it. Great service.
First time here and it was a great treat. Friendly and attentive service with great food impressed all four of us who had never been there before. Would highly recommend!
What can I say. Third time there , third time super enjoyed it. Rich good original flavours.
Great service and amazing appetizers. Was a little bit disappointed in the bipmbap but the dessert and appetizers were incredible !
Ordered a few tapas and mains, loved it all! Still tastes like korean food but great fusion/western twist to it!
Amazing experience from the moment we stepped in... We will definitely be back!
We loved it! Good food. Great service! Definitely going back!
As always, an absolutely amazing dining experience. We really filled our bellies and were extremely impressed by the service of Ashlyn. A very memorable dinner for our special occasion.
