First time experience- Drink menu was super cool and explained well. We tried the Brussel Sprouts which i thought i didn’t care for but when they are done properly sooo good. And the spicy peppers amazing.
Dinner we tried the Wagu Beef and the Soy Chicken which is huge!
Only disappointment was the dinner took way too long and we sat there for an hour so by the time it came we just tasted it. Supposedly training new people. But very poor timing!
We will return and try again. Ambience of restaurant is great for dinner or group.
It’s so yummy and a tad fancy yet so affordable, one of my favourites
We love Anju! It’s our number one go to restaurant in the city. Great vibes, flavorful food and fantastic service!
Wonderful evening with great flavors, ambiance and service. Highly recommend a evening here.
Delicious brunch, great value and lovely ambience. I can imagine given the food that this place must get busy so if you’re looking for a quiet more intimate setting I would suggest going early for brunch. I’m very much looking forward to trying this restaurant again for dinner!
Ambiance was a bit lacking, overall too bright. Food was delicious but server’s food knowledge could have been better. Overall would still go back anytime!
Excellent food. Fantastic service. Will definitely be back.
We enjoyed ANJU. On street parking. Pleasant surroundings. Attentive but not intrusive service. Delicious small plates to share with/among a friend(s). The brussel sprouts were a notable standout. Not inexpensive but definitely worth a visit ... or two.
Family celebration at Anju. Our first visit, and every dish as suggested was shared by all at the table and we all agreed that every dish was different from one another & exceptional in flavour, including coffee, tea, & deserts. The waitress was knowledgeable, helpful, kind, professional, & quick. The music was mod. loud with a good clear sound system. New music, not annoying pop. The atmosphere was modern, calm and warm. What more can you ask for. Already recommended to many friends.
Love the unique Asian fusion!
My favourite restaurant in Calgary, never dissipoints.
Worth trying. The food and the drinks were delicious, no problems there.
The room we were seated in was very loud due to it being full of people talking. It was hard to speak with the server because it was so loud. Half way through dinner, the fire alarm system went off . The audible portion went away eventually, but the strobing lights remained.
The dinner would have been reasonably priced IF the ambiance wasn't so loud/distracting. Because the ambiance was not ideal, I would say the entire experience was overpriced and value was not great.
Very underwhelming. We were really disappointed.
We braved a bitter cold Alberta night to dine at Anju and it was worth every cold, arctic shiver. Everything was exceptional with the brussels sprouts and charred peppers our favorites. As good as anything in San Francisco or Portland.
This was our second time at Anju. First time was 2 yrs ago. Our first visit was not impressive as the noise level was over the top and the food was ok but the portions were small. This second visit was quieter as it was SuperBowl Sunday and it was -27C outside . Service was outstanding and attentive. Food was above average although 2 dishes were very salty. Desserts were delicious.
They charge a cake cutting fee per person $3
Loved it! Great setting, awesome service, delicious food! Would definitely go back
Great dinner Saturday night, very interesting menu based on small items and everyone sharing. Brussels sprouts were great, enjoyed the mussels and hot pot.
Food was great !
Great dinner to celebrate my son’s 30th birthday!
This place has some amazing dishes and flavours. We had the mini cucumbers, charred shishito peppers, steak (they were out of hanger steak but substituted sirloin), lamb potstickers and the Buffalo Gochujang chicken wings. We also had sides of kimchi and pickles. There honestly wasn’t a bad dish in the bunch! I would highly recommend them for your next meal.
Overall very good. First time here. Great sharing menu allowed us to try many dishes with friends. Service was very good, explained menu, recommendations and kept an attentive but not rushed pace. Wine list was good but not much under $75. Would definitely go back.
Top!!!!! Zoals gewoonlijk landen Calgary en door naar Kelowna! De overnachting down town... en eten Anju...... altijd genieten!
Brunch at Anju was amazing!
Kimchi rice was super oily
Try their recommendation seafood ramen, it was gross so salty, didn’t even touch it after tasting it! Worst part, they didn’t take it off the bill.
This was my second time to Anju. I must say the second time was in fact the charm as they say. Food was delicious, our server was super kind and attentive. My only note is the music was quite loud considering it was mid afternoon. I would recommend this place again & again. The decor and vibe of this restaurant are truly remarkable.
$500 for a party of 5 people and we all went home hungry, which should not be the case. The food was not as good as I recalled the last time I dined at Anju. The service and ambiance were excellent.
We came across this one when I was searching a restaurant that would accommodate one of our friends' strict gluten free dietary requirement. They were very attentive and explained options patiently. The menu and food are very unique and different, though quite tasty. Loved brussels sprouts and short rib. We are not bunch of spicy lovers, so didn't try the hot plates as we were told some of them could be quite peppery. But overall, we were happy and stomach full when we walked out.
Anju is among our favourite spots in Calgary. Great plates to share, and a an excellent cocktail menu
Absolutely delicious! Uniquely awesome! Flavour and textures!
Must go again soon to try more dishes Go with friends to share many plates
Excellent tapas. 4 of us shared 3 "half plates" and 3 "full plates" as our server suggested and it was the perfect amount.
Food is usually very good here, but not great this week. The tenderloin was very overcooked, and the gnocchi was not light and airy - heavy and sticky.
Always a great experience at Anju.
The food at Anju is incredibly delicious. Only place i will ever utter the phrase "more tofu please"
Amazing food and cocktails. Some items are a bit pricey (black cod) but others are of really good value (curry ramen bowl or spicy squid rice). Everything was delightful and very close to perfection. The Ferrero rocher dessert was incredible. Can't wait to go back!!
The food & service was exceptional. Loved the shareable aspect of the menu. We ordered 6-8 things and each one was amazing. The spice level was dead on and seasoning was unique and perfect. Yum yum ! We can’t wait to come back.
Server did not bring appropriate serving implements for dishes ordered and was not particularly attentive Food portions very small but all well prepared and served hot Where appropriate .
Great food! We did send one dish back but we were promptly brought out another one and the taste was fabulous! 5/5 would go again.
The experience was good. Attentive service and really went out of the way to explain the best way to enjoy dinner. The only downfall was I didn’t really enjoy the flavours.
