Ankor is a beautiful hidden treasure! We could not have had a better dining experience. The food is absolutely incredible and was very clearly prepared with a lot of love and passion for the craft. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The service was impeccable, and the decor was warm and tasteful. I wish them continued success, and hope that they can weather this covid storm with their grace and grit. I urge everyone to go and have a meal here and support this absolute gem of a restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner at ankor! We started with the carrot appetizer, followed by the steak frites for me, and the seafood entree for my husband. The food was plated with exquisite attention to detail and delicious. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and would highly recommend this establishment!

Nice atmosphere. Attentive service. Local beers. We ordered sourdough, duck and steak. Every bite was packed with flavor. This chef understands food! Go. You won’t be disappointed.

Every thing was perfect

HIdden Gem with amazing food, great atmosphere and an open view of the kitchen and bar areas. Two favorites - the tortellini was amazing, such a soft and delicate flavour - and the oysters in cucumber-infused juice was both unique and refreshing!

Wonderful experience. We arrived 15 minutes early and our table was occupied but the sat us at the bar and we ordered a bottle of wine. When our table was ready we moved to the table. Server was polite and attentive.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The owner and chef Danny even came over to our table to see how we like our meal. Bravo!! We will gladly go back again.

Everything about our experience from start to finish was amazing—we not only received attentive service from our server, but the head chef/owner came to chat with us throughout the night and made us feel incredibly welcome. The food and drinks were delicious, and we were impressed that the chef knows the farmer where he sources his meats. I will gladly be back to support more local, sustainable meals!

We loved änkôr and will be back. It was hard to decide what to order, as everything looked amazing. Lot's of gluten-free options, which is always appreciated. Such an amazing addition to the Canmore dining scene.

The service and food were outstanding. My date had the tortellini and said that it was the best she had ever tasted. I had the Steak Frites - steak was done perfectly and the frites - which came with aioli sauce - were delectable. Highly recommend!

My wife and I enjoyed an incredible overall experience here on a special occasion. We live in Banff and I'm sad to say I don't know of a comparable operation in our home town at this time. Well Done ankor!

We had a spectacular evening at Ankor, from the food to the service. There is a real pride of ownership here and the staff works together seamlessly to bring an exceptional dining experience to its customers. I had the duck and my husband had the steak. Yes, the prices are high if you are having a few courses and drinks, but it’s truly one of the best restaurants in Canmore. Well worth it!

We had a wonderful upscale dining experience at änkôr. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Our favourite was the sourdough starter & the butter is heavenly! The beef tartar was really tasty too. The tortellini was really nice & full of flavour with house ricotta. The duck was very savoury & loved the combination of flavours. Make sure you save room for dessert - the chocolate torte topped with crème fraîche was decadent. :)

This experience was exceptional. Raising the bar for Canmore. Kudos to Chef Danny and his fantastic culinary team as well as an outstanding and professional front of house service team. The menu was elegant and sophisticated paired with sensational cocktail menu and an incredible wine list. This place will quickly rise to the top ranks in Canmore. Outstanding ambiance and food. Highly recommended!

We had the sourdough and carrots to start, both were amazingly delicious. For mains, I had the tortellini and my partner had the duck, both of which were absolutely perfect. We were treated to an amuse bouche and a complimentary dessert afterwards. I have never been to a place where my partner didn’t complain about something, he was raving about the food here, not one complaint. Excellent service as well.

Outstanding food, service and team

I had the pleasure of dining at Ankor on November 28, 2020. I cannot imagine a more stressful experience than realizing a life-long goal, opening your own restaurant, investing in this beautiful space and ingredients, in the middle of a pandemic. I wanted to show this new local gem my support.

From walking in the door the wonderful smell and cozy ambiance welcomed me and my companion into the space. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who graciously seated us at a clean, minimally appointed table, with a partition between the next guests. The restaurant was quiet, and felt very private and intimate. The decor is beautiful with an open kitchen and living wall.

I ordered a delicious curated cocktail, and my companion had a beer, both the beer list and cocktail list left us wanting to try everything. We started with the house made sourdough, and carrot, the honey butter for the sourdough stole the show - and made me wish I could buy the butter by the barrel.

For mains I had the duck, it was cooked beautifully - especially the breast which was perfectly medium rare with crispy skin. I would have licked the plate if the partitions were tinted.... My friend had the steak frites, and while she wouldn't share the steak, i did get one of the frites and it was sublime. The wine by the glass paired beautifully with the meal, and was the perfect recommendation.

For dessert we shared the chestnut mouse Millefeuille, it was light and not too sweet. My only regret was that we shared and I didn't get to eat it all myself. I had latte with dessert and it was also perfect and light, and accompanied our conversation.

My biggest highlight of the night was that for a few short hours, I forgot it was 2020, and was able to truly relax, enjoy delicious food, drinks, and excellent company. The restaurant was impeccably clean, the staff were extremely diligent and we were able to focus on enjoying our conversation. I am so grateful to the staff at Ankor. Thank you.

Ankor's opening night was one of the most memorable meals we've enjoyed in Canmore! The ambiance is so thoughtfully curated, and comfortable. The buzz of the chefs in the open kitchen, and the bartenders is captivating. You can feel the care that has gone into this menu. We really appreciated the details in the menu explanations and the efforts to source and celebrate local food and beverage. Really looking forward to returning soon! Thank you for a perfect birthday celebration! PS. the Sourdough is out of this world. Wow. Just wow.
