Haven't been to Annie's for a year and it has only got better. Food is superb, modern takes on British classics. Perfect for a meal with mates, a date night, or a family get together. Love love love this place

The food at Annie's was fantastic but at parts the service left something to be desired. I appreciate that we arrived at the restaurant with 7 people when we had booked for 6 but the staff were not willing to be at all flexible to accommodate us. I was ready to leave but it really didn't feel like the manager would care if we did! Having refused to give us a 7th chair, my friend ate her breakfast sat on a suitcase that she had brought with her to make the booking work which is ridiculous in a restaurant. The food was great and the server for our table was very helpful. It is just a shame that management let themselves down at the beginning and very almost lost themselves a reservation.

This was our first experience at Annie's after having heard many wonderful things about the restaurant. I found the environment to be comfortable and quirky and with an upmarket vibe. I thought the food and menu was great and I'm very much looking forward to returning again soon!

What a great restaurant, nice welcome and attentive but not overly so. The food is well cooked with portion sizes just right. The menu is not extensive but enough to provide choice with dishes prepared from fresh. The wine list provides something for everyone but is a little on the expensive side.

Annie's is a good neighbourhood restaurant with great food. The helpings are quite generous so go hungry. The decor is wacky and the ambience relaxed and friendly. The table we had for three was on the big side and it was difficult to hear each other because the music was loud. They kindly turned it down a bit when I asked. The tables vary in size so if you prefer something more intimate it might be a good idea to ask for this.

As always the atmosphere and decor is what keeps this place going, the food almost hits the spot. Some dishes executed well, others well below what should be let out of the kitchen. I would encourage the management to sit down and actually eat every dish side by side to see what works and what does not. If consistency and quality can be delivered from the kitchen then Annie's has a winning formula. Overall an enjoyable evening and friendly staff.

Annie's (in Barnes) was a welcome relief after some very disappointing culinary experiences in Central London. The ambience was relaxed, the service good and the food both reasonably priced and of a good quality. I am not surprised it is a favourite with the locals.

On the whole enjoyable food with two provisos: 1: my salt and pepper squid had very little taste of squid and seemed to consist mainly of batter. 2: The main course I ordered was shrimp salad with croutons. What I got was one fairly large piece of toasted/roasted bread with 3 or 4 enormous prawns served in their shells - which made for very messy and arduous eating. My companion had your "special" fish pie which although tasty was far too hot, and far too much potato.

Annie's has always been my favourite restaurant in Barnes, and it's been consistently good since I first ate there in 2004. The decor is cozy and and the atmosphere is romantic. The food is excellent quality, always well presented and very tasty. They cater for most tastes, and vegetarians can usually find at least two mains and starters on the menu. Staff are friendly and attentive, and cocktails are one of Annie's highlights - it's well worth going between 5-7pm on a week day for happy hour. Nothing matches Annie's in the area as far as I'm concerned, and as a regular at The Ivy and other top restaurants further in town, I can say that Annie's food is just as good and the restaurant is more relaxed. It's well worth a visit!

We went for a family lunch on a Sunday. Good attentive service. Menu had changed since we last went - I presume a summer menu. However it was a hot day and there did not seem to be any lighter main course options. A salad option would have been welcome. The lamb burger is a favourite of mine and did not disappoint. On our last visit to Annie's the children were given colouring sheets and pencils but sadly were not offered this time. Also the ladies' toilet could have been in a better condition. We were there for a 12.30pm booking and the bin was almost full with used paper towels. The hand towel dispenser was also only attached by one screw so lifted off the wall every time you pulled out a towel. Different ambience at lunchtime compared to the evenings but still a nice experience.

Went for an anniversary dinner Shared yummy (very good) arancini balls with glass of bubbles - which was seriously very, very good I had the lamb brochette as a main, which was spot on (amazing flat bread!) Other half had garlic prawn ceaser salad.... full prawns which were hot and slightly messy to deconstruct but apparently lovely and not too large Large glass of sav Blanc each and shared creme brûlée for dessert. Great menu - innovative and appealing. Other half is fish-a-Tarian and lots of good (different) choices, which doesn't always happen.... Great atmosphere, lovely helpful and friendly staff, no wonder the restaurant was busy on a Thursday Great time - would go back and recommend....nice and relaxing (Oh yeah, you can ask for skinny fries like people near us did - they looked gorgeous!)

Not sure if there's been a change of management but the friendly atmosphere has gone- staff seem to have very little interest in their jobs. Food was ok, but not what I'd expect from Annie's. Compared to Annie's in Chiswick, which I had the pleasure of visiting the week before- the staff were friendly, attentive and the food was very good.

Had our first visit to Annies on a Sunday evening and found it to be a good experience. The food was very good- hot and tasty- and the service excellent. I had the fish pie and it was packed with fish. The fish and chip portion was very generous and I am told the desserts were very good. It is quite pricey but worth it.

I had heard about Annie's for many years and when the opportunity come up to dine in Barnes thought we would select this establishment as our dinner venue with friends. The decor and ambiance are friendly and welcoming - although I do find it offputting seeing a waitress smoking at the front of the restaurant before you arrive - I know we were an early booking...but.... That said they (waiting staff) did a good job. I really felt like comfort food and opted for the fish pie. It promised cod, salmon and prawns and cheesy mash. There was masses of the last ingredient and it was frankly light on fish. Others at our table did well with cod, jersey royals, spinach and hollandaise and a pretty mean looking burger. I chose badly but don't think ordering off a menu should be by luck. Would we go again? Possibly but I'm in no great hurry.

As always Annies had some new things on the menu plus specials. I had the crab avocado and rocket salad to start. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the crab it seemed as f it may have been tinned not fresh. The sea bream with asian slaw that I had to follow was delicious. As always a good atmosphere.
